Hello everyone. I bought a samsung galaxy s3 mini version nfc i8190n when lam bought the phone had a problem with GSM and HSDPA network. Do not want to register with any sim card network in any network. The phone has IMEI and modem good. When searching network manually, your phone finds them when I select a network does not register on the network. The phone came with android 4.1.2 baseband version i8190NXXALL6 Number
i8190NXXALL6 CSC: KOR. Before I get to work I saved the foders "efs" and "modemfs". For five days I struggle with it and we did and at the moment I'm stuck and ask for help.
Here are the steps that I did:
1. I changed csc from "kor" in "btu"
2. I rewrote the software with odin. Same i8190NXXALL6 Stock firmware samsung.
3. I installed CWM Recovery and I Flash all versions of this model, modem.
4. I installed custom ROMs, I returned to stock ROMs
5. I installed the stock recovery with odin and he appeared in DOWNLOAD MODE "custom binary download"=yes 2 times;"System Status"=custom;"current binary"=custom. I used the TriangleAWay and I brought "custom binary download=No. I8190NXXALL6 I reinstalled the stock rom via odin with repartition then full erease on the phone Cahe,Data, etc.and returned to" Custom Binay "= No Current Binay = Official Samsung, System status = Officia.Updates software and firmware from samsung works after many writings kind CWM unofficial ROMs, etc.
6. After each writing ROMs I rooted the phone and replaced the file "modemfs" nv.dat file. I downloaded from the XDA forum several files of other users Nv.dat i8190N this model, we have replaced each other and nothing.
7. I deleted all files in EFS folder and modemfs after deletion had baseband XXXXX. IMEI number has remained untouched.
8. I wrote modem manually via CWM recovery and nothing same problem.
I did have searched all the forum and other forums, I searched on google and do not know what to do. My phone is now rooted in the stock rom, stock kernel, stock recovery. These are details which are:
DEVICE INFORMATION FOR Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini

Yes i know but why would you purposely modify the modems and other stuffs, you should have brought it to your network provider service center or samsung and ask them about it, it could just be an SIM card problem
thanks for reply

No. Is not sim problem issues becouse i test with a nother sim card`s of diferent carriers. Wen i put a nother sim card in apn setings are the setings for the carrier sim wat ai put,wen i cheange the sim with a nother carrier in the apn setings are the setings of the carrier sim card wat i m put. So for exemple i have 3 sim card`s of diferent carriers and all the sim`s card have pin security cod and the phone ask me for pin, after insert the pin code with all sim card`s don`t register on the netowork but the apn setings of the carrier automatic are there on the setings,so the phone see the sim card for all carriers, in setings wen a search manualy for the netorks the phone see the netowork wen i select the netowork manualy not register on the network,if i select automatic sey "registering on netowrk" but is not becouse if i want to call i can`t "not registering on network" sorry for my english ((

hmm.. as the last solution - search "gsmhosting efs backup request" on google ( ai not able to paste external links here). You will find the backup efs folder from a working sgs3 mini i8190 phone. Flash it to your phone (first keep a backup of yopur own efs before doing this ... just in case)
all the best !

My phone is bricked at this moment. Partition on the phone are mess up. One guy from the Mobile Phones Center brick the phone and my phone is in this stage righ now :http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2657862 . Wen i have news and solution i post heare. Good day All.
I got the same problem with my phone, it just stopped registering on networks, tried any sim that was available in my country and nothing worked! If you find any solution please update!
Any updates???
Searched and searched... Had a good rooted stock rom, then tried something new a few days ago. I seem to have messed up the modem/bandband. Some issues as the original post. Re-flashed different roms, stock, rooted, unrooted, custom. Tried various different baseband updates. Everything works except being unable to register to the network. IMEI has not changed or been overwritten.
Any help would be gladly accepted.

I have the exact same problem. I'm on Orange (EE). Yesterday morning my phone was registered on the network fine, I was in a poor signal area but still on 3G. Then I roamed across the south west of Britain and noticed my phone has no signal. It just wont register on any network, even EE. If I select automatic, it says it registers but it gets no signal and when I try to make a call. It says not registered on network!
The phone is totally stock. My sim works in another phone. I've done a factory reset but the problem still exists.
Was thinking about flashing the ROM but if others have been there too with no fix then I won't waste my time. I keep thinking EE have pushed something to my phone to block access as I'm out of contract by three months and they want me to upgrade!!
Hi,
Well my device which is S5 mini g800f working fine, since I have changed the firmware which was old like build on july so I tried to installed latest, but now there is emergency call showing, also I have tried manually and automatically to register on the network but it says unable to register to the (---network). I did it coz my device was not showing LTE network. However my sim supports the 4g and was working on S4 i9505. I have searched on Google and look out many threads on XDA but no success until now.
The biggest mistake was I didn't looked the firmware which was already there and was running with 3g support. I have tried these EUR-G800FXXU1ANL1-20141226162921, SER-G800FXXU1ANG1-20140709112536, MAT-G800FXXU1ANI3-20141218172328. Then I have installed Custom Lollipop but no success was there too.
So now any pro's here who can understand my problem ? My imei is showing, is there any procedure where I can put the imei and it will let me know what was installed on stock :crying:
Sorry for being noobish..
Please any buddy give me suggestions that what should I do ? Or should I look in the specific section of XDA forums ?

Its is mentioned mate what I have written, I said my imei is showing that by dialing *#06# I can see it, because there is a problem where the efs folder corrupted or gone you cant see imei or imei appears to be in these digits 00000 especially by installing custom roms. Anyways my only motive is that I know the imei and how ever I can see it too, so is there any procedure where I can put the imei to the website and see what was installed on stock. Because I dont have the box so I dont know which firmware was there when I installed another rom to get LTE, because it was working properly as I said in my earlier post.
Problem is due the baseband I am pretty sure which is not matching, this is the reason because I cant connect to the network---error msg (Unable to connect).

The baseband firmware is included in the firmware packages that are available on sammobile (.tar.md5 files). If you flash the firmware package with Odin, also the baseband firmware (contained in modem.bin) will be flashed.
If you have problems with a newly flashed stock firmware that were not present with the original firmware it might be because of one of the following reasons:
You flashed the wrong firmware. I don't think that the version name of the original firmware is stored somewhere. Instead check sammobile for the correct one: select the correct phone model and your country. EUR, SER (for Russia), MAT are country codes, choose the correct one for your country, the search function on sammobile will help you with that. You can also try Kies for restoring the firmware. Maybe that is able to determine the correct firmware according to the IMEI or some other information stored on the phone.
Maybe your EFS partition was changed and corrupted. The EFS partition is the partition that contains the IMEI and other information like calibration files that are specific for your device. If any of the files in this partition is damaged, the phone might not behave correctly. If you flash another firmware the EFS partition normally is not changed.
Your hardware is defect.
I guess that you simply flashed the wrong ROM. Otherwise the problem will be hard to fix.

I did something really stupid and ended up with a bad flash on my NOTE 9 - the result is that I no onger have an IMEI number on my phone - no data at all - no mobile data.
I know what my IMEI Number is from my GOOGLE account - but I don't know how I can fix my phone to get the IMEI number back into the phone.
Any suggestions are grealy appreciated.
I did a google search which had a few suggested ways using the dialer - but when I attempt to do that, nothing happens - I don't get any result from the dialer codes online.
Your help is greatly appreciated
Find the latest software for your phone and install it with Odin. Or emergency software recovery with Smart Switch.

For the benefit of others (to hopefully not make a similar misstep) what did you do to create this issue? Flash a ROM from another region, carrier, etc.? I understand if you prefer not to share... thanks for the consideration.

There was a rom in the Custom Roms section that looked like it was meant for our phones - I think it was the WETA ROM - I didn't read the oP very carefully - totally my fault - it was not intended for the N960F - (but that was not really that clear when I first read the OP - or at least I lverlooked it. i will be much more careful next time. - it damn near bricked my phone.
I tried flashing full firmware in ODIN to fix it -no good - the flashes failed. - I tried restoring Nandroids - they restored fine but IMEI was still missing.
The fix I found eventually was to flash the DEV BASE Firmware that was recently added to the Roms section - flashing that fixed my issues and I am now back and working properly. I tried more fixes than I can count - and all of them failed - I was close to thinking I might have to buy a new phone. Dr Ketan suggested I flash the Dev Base sortware and he was absolultely correct. It worked.

I was able to get around the PUK code through a master reset. Go figure.
There's a thread in the forums that talks about copying your carrier's CSC to your phone and then making the necessary changes to four files in the /efs/imei folder. It's not hard, but you got to be very careful. Instructions are in the thread mentioned above. I have LTE/HD Voice access during phone calls, but I have not been able to get Wi-Fi calling to work because the IMS service FC's when launching.
I suspect it may have something to do with using a dual-sim phone. I have both my AT&T and T-Mobile SIM in the phone, and I'm loving using one phone for business and personal calls. I also have Google Voice and I can use that for Wifi calling if necessary. As a final note, to get access to AT&T enhanced services on a non AT&T phone, you have to use an IMEI number from an AT&T phone that supports its enhanced services. In my case I've been using the IMEI number from my three-year-old Samsung S6 active. I called support told rep that I was using my S6 active while waiting on a new phone and they associated the IMEI number with my cell number.

thanks for the tip my friend.

Ok guys need someone to guide me here. A friend of mine has a Note 9 from Verizon. The imei shows as 15 zeroes!. He was messing with the phone and factory binary to flash from verizon U to U1 to TMB rom, wish he accomplished but now the imei its all zeros, searching online found hardware boxes and things like that that will help you repair the imei but octupus box witch its the one we were looking at dosnt support imei repair of note 9
Then we found the software used by imeigurus that actually have a section for verizon phones that states : cert write IGST method
I think that by having a certification file for note 9 we can write the file using this program and get a new imei , buuuuuut , I found something about cert files not supporting CPID phones witch its the case of the Note 9, so at this point have no idea how to get new imei , any help will be appreciated , phone's out of waranty !

Your "friend" should be able to get the IMEI from their Verizon account information, or, perhaps, on the box that it came with.
Please don't go to the laundry list of excuses that your "friend" has as to why they cannot get the IMEI.
If Verizon cannot help, contact Samsung.
Also, there may be other ways to retrieve the IMEI, use the search function here @ XDA. If there's a legitimate way to retrieve the original IMEI, it'll be here somewhere @ XDA.
Changing the IMEI is frowned upon here & at every other reputable site.
Sent from my SM-N960U using XDA Labs
From what I understand, flashing the old "U" firmware might restore the IMEI number.
This phone is about 3 - 4 months old, since most warranties last at least a year this is a bit short to say it's out of warranty.

This kind of discussion about changing imei is not allowed on XDA Forums. If you have a backup file you can use search button on XDA to restore it, if dont, you have to contact your mobile company.

Hi all,
I'm coming into a such weird situation and I'll try to mention all the aspects.
I bought my note 9 a week ago from an online store (noon.com in UAE).
Seems like the phone is korean variant. Here's what is weird:
1- Model no. : SM-N960FD
2- model no. In the software (settings): SM-N960F/DS
3- phone's back at the very bottom (small text) reads: *N950F*
4- the phone was sealed and had samsung sticker which states it has never been opened before.
5- I came to realize that the spen has no bluetooth as there has been connectivity issue forever.
6- as i opened the hotspot, the device name is "DrKetanRom_5e10" which is a custom rom i believe.
7- I can't fine phone update section in settings.
8- The device is rooted when using root checker app.
9- phone status is custom.
10- SE for android status mentions DrKetan as well.
11- the camera lens has variable aperture which proves it's a note 9
12- knox status is 0x0!.
I am very confused! The phone seems totally new and is scratchless all around. I don't know if maybe Korean or chinese version phone comes with no android basic stuff as other shipped phones so Samsung re-installed the software or somethinhg?
If any body can help, that would be highly appreciated!!
Thanks.
Anyone?

If you go to bootloader mode you will see that it is n960n, not n960f.
I think these are SKTelecom phones from Korea.
they are original phones but have been refurbished or I don't know the exact term but they are repurposed to be sold like n960f - ds phones.
I also have a similar phone but I got all things intact no issues, I am actually running Dr. Ketan Q rom.
Only My Download mode shows some Korean stuff and I'm used to it from my note 4 days. I had an n910s
Just put your IMEI number on https://www.imei.info/ and it will show your phone details.
I also believe there are certain apps on play store that gives out device info.
All the best, since its already rooted just, go nuts with a badass custom ROM already.
Samsung Phone Information app from playstore has a refurbishment check. And yes it has been rooted with custom rom.

You are definitely correct, the model number in bootloader mode shows n960n! And download mode shows "download mode" in korean.
So can i just flash the stock rom of sm-n960f/ds and recieve the android Q whenever sasung releases it for the note 9? Or I'm already stuck now?
Also i coming from a note 3, so i have no ideas what are some popular roms for the note 9, also I don't want to loose spen functionality, so can you recommend a rom to install that is stable and saves battery?
Thanks alot for your help!

I would recommend that you install the N960N OS back onto it. As the N960N is a single SIM device. I don't know what will happen if you install a the dual SIM variant's OS onto it.

SM-N960F firmware is the same used for SM-N960F/DS. He should flash the Original firmware meant for the phone. SM-N960N.
Also, if his IMEI that pops up when dialing *#06# matches what is on the back of the phone, then he can flash the SM-N960F firmware.
Actually my phone is dual sim, and sm-n960n is a dual sim firmware.
IMEI is consistent in everywhere, with the box, with the back of the phone, when checking it on the internet.
I know that samsung will not support the note 9 after android Q upgrade, so shall i install a custom rom instead? If yes which one shall i install?
Is there a need - as of now- to install a custom rom, or the stock rom is fine (battery and performance wise)?
Or shall i go for stock android experience (project treble) to enjoy maximum performance?
What do you think?
Sorry for annoyance !
if you dont want it i might trade u for a brand new tmobile branded note 9. but u probably dont want it. (long shot)
im currently looking into what i can do with it if anyone knows feel free im also utilizing att but phone is tmo with device lock app untouched as of right now. . (needing leads)
jus wanted to get in on this thread so i can follow progress
It is probably a real phone but with the software modified.
Just flash the boot loader for n960n from Odin and the Twrp recovery then flash any rom that supports n960n ds or f rom. It works. I've tried ambasadi rom, the galaxy project and dr ketan. All worked for me. Just backup using TWRP and read all dev recommended steps before you flash anything. Or if you prefer stock there was a particular thread I think. All the best.

Hi all,
I'm coming into a such weird situation and I'll try to mention all the aspects.
