Pretty much like the title says; quite a lot of phones are getting beta Android 12 ROMs, when should we expect them for the Mi 11 series? Or is there some kind of conflict holding back ROMs ? Because apart DerpFest or LOS, it doesn't seem developers are really interested with this phone. Is it because Xiaomi didn't release their kernel sources yet with their Android 12 update? Or bad luck with the model? I'm genuinely curious.
I don't wanna sound like a spoiled person, but I'm not really a fan of MIUI and would love to have choices with ROMs and the current situation is sad.

Sorry bro...but just bellow your post is link to stock beta A12...and xiaomi eu is releasing beta weekly for good few weeks already as well....
But if you are focused on aosp its not easy....as it has to build from scratch and who can invest weeks of hard work for free? And even then its not like years a go....when we started with samsung galaxy s1 or s2 and we had 30 custom roms...it was easy back then....no bootloader lock and all code available....so be patient and maybe you get what you want sooner then later..
For me i would be interested more into MIUI 13 and what is going to bring to the table.....should be released before end of the year....and things may change a bit....
I am also waiting for Android 12 ^^.
The only thing holding me back to try out the beta is the factory reset (I dont want to reinstall everything just for the beta) and the bootloader unlock (Risk of losing the fingerprint scanner).
But I really want Android 12 XD.
you can get A12 roms from xiaomi[dot]eu.

Where you got a miui13 A12 Rom? The .eu and mix roms are 12.5 with A12 ....
we are testing MIUI 13 + A12 on Xiaomi 12 PRO.
And no, I cannot say anything else ;-)
But I can assure that betrween the Mi11 + A11 and Xiami 12PR + A12 there's not much difference in EEA/GLOBAL

For said that it's better to said nothing lol
"We are testing" who is "we" ? MIUI 13 is on Beta and Xiaomi 12 is only for dev, new Snapdragon & MIUI 13 are not optimized, even on Pixel A12 have a lot of bugs, like A12 / MIUI 12.5...
So when all is on dev/beta, feedback or bashing at this point is useless.
In general MIUI is a ****, especially for the launcher (not allowed 3rd party launcher to using gesture) and apparently this most important thing is not scheduled in MIUI 13.
I hope just a AOSP A12 for using properly my Mi 11 before change my device

Ok...
Beta, Xiaomi.eu, MIUIMiX all have Android 12 running on the weekly for Venus
If it's still MIUI, I don't think it'll look like Android 12
Lol not even the Xiaomi 12, which was announced today, is shipping with Android 12:
Xiaomi 12 series phones will ship with MIUI 12.5 out the box while the brand new MIUI 13 which was announced on stage will arrive as an update in January.
Xiaomi 12 and 12 Pro debut with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipsets, Xiaomi 12X comes with SD870
All three phones will be available in China from December 31. After months of leaks and rumors, Xiaomi’s 12 series is now official with three entries -...

So, is it possible to port Miui 13 (Android 12) or any future update (Miui14, 15) to Mi8 or other unsupported device. I know the community is exceptionally strong with this kind of mods, and there is a lot of developers that are familiar with Miui and how it works, so I am hopeful that this will happen. Nothing against AOSP roms, but I think miui works best on MI devices, so it would be great if it's possible to take Miui13 from supported device like mi12 and combine it with necessary files for Mi 8. There is huge work done from our Chinese friends on uotan.cn so I hope there is gonna be even more updates.
Impossible... Case closed
i have this on my mi 11 since several months Miui EEA 13.0.4.. SKBEUXM wwith android security 2022-01-01 !!!! and nothing since this update. WTF xiaomi ! I think they forgot the world except the chinese market.
Now it's a certainty, my next phone will not be a xiaomi, go back to pixel.
apple, samsung and google are the only ones with frequent updates for their devices - literally every other smartphone manufacturer is dropping the ball and only supports their latest and greatest devices until they aren't new anymore..
this was known for a long time now, why act all surprised at xiaomi now?
besides, if you run the same 4-5 apps as you always do, having the latest security update makes no difference to the security of your device...is there any particular reason why you need the latest security patch on your device?
use xiaomi eu rom, dev
Just a regular xiaomi update policy. When a device reaches the first year, updates doesn't matter anymore and all of the device and it's updates a pain in the ass for the future because it's newest mid-range devices first for the company.
Only Weekly deserve frequent updates and even the weekly branch updates will become Monthly lol

I advise to pass on last MIUI 13 Weekly or AOSP Arrow mate You don't will recognize your phone after update
Since Android 12 is coming out, I want to know if Xiaomi will ever release Android 13 in Redmi Note 11.
I don't intend to root or put custom rom yet. But I will do once Xiaomi stops supporting the device.
So, maybe I will flash custom rom later.
Currently with MIUI 13.0.15 android. Xiaomi Ram management is very bad.
Hi Pulsar,
If you download MIUI Downloader, or MIUI Updater.... It will tell you what MIUI and Android versions your device should get. When I last looked, it did say that we are due to get Android 13.
But seeing as they've not resolved/fixed Android 12 for our device yet, I think it will be at least another year away before we see Android 13 on this device anytime soon....
As most of us are still stuck on Android 11, unless with force-flash the A12 firmware....
Cheers, Lister

I do agree with Lister. Yestaday I flashed/locked/cleaned my RN11 with MiFlash Tool all the way back to android 11 and then after using it for few minutes this so called "update available dialogue" appeared on my screen. Obviously I clicked download but when It got updated, Duh it was way sluggish than the beta recovery rom. A lot of minor but necessary stuff was missing. Then again I unlocked the bootloader, installed recovery and flashed Evo X A12 rom. The struggle was real and the rom came out to be smooth as well.

I got the RM Note 10 Pro when it was brandnew and just wanted a stable custom rom. I installed and used Arrow OS with Android 11 and was satisfied with it. But then the team and apparently all the other teams stopped supporting and updating those roms and moved on to Android 12 projects. So like 2 month ago I moved on to Lineage 12.1 so I could have a rom that keeps getting updates and support. I don't really like changing roms and transferring everything to the phone that I had before and having to figure out certain things that work differently on the new versions. Now I am seeing Android 13 roms popping out in the forums and I am concerned that thosed based on Android 12 will also stop getting updates and support and force me to change to a Rom with 13. Will the 12 roms keep getting updates at least for a while longer? I would prefer staying on 12.1 for a while

When Xiaomi stops updating an android version, developers must also follow to continue the development of their rom.
Nothing prevents you from staying in A12, security will be and will remain on the date of the last rom in A12.
Xiaomi for some time has preferred to sell phones rather than provide bug-free roms before moving on to another newer android version.
For example, the beta stables are updated via OTA but it is just indicated Stable on the phone, moreover for some phones the beta stables are just renamed stable later when it is exactly the same rom without bug fixes.
For me the A12 Aosp roms are crude and ugly only reason that makes me stay on MIUI but I am from the old school.

The right answer for this is: depends on the resources that community have to preserve the older build. I'm talking about people and hardware. If there's none, they have to move forward to newer one and ditch the older. Why Lineage could support several versions android because they have resources to do so. Most don't have that luxury.
Yes, most custom Android 12 ROMs should be abandoned in the next 2-3 months. Some devs may keep updating 12 if they aren't confident in 13, but that's a bit rare. If you are on a stable Android ROM, stick with that for a year or so even if it means no updates. I plan to upgrade to Android 12 now, have been on Android 11, and when Android 14 comes out, I'll upgrade to Android 13. You might be able to do an in-place upgrade to Android 13 rather than clean installing, if you are lucky.

I am on the same boat. Was running LOS 18.1 happily on Oneplus. Then purchased Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro and sh*t started. No official Lineage so started research. Found Arrow to be close. Official and vanilla.
The A11 development was already gone so went with A12 as a future proof option (as I thought). They killed it quick and went 12L. I flashed A12L but after a short while they quit that and went A13. I did not even started to think about swap and they are at A13.1 that I read have bugs.
I wish that development power went in the same direction but no, there are tons of custom ROMs for 'sweet' but I couldn't find stable and polished one. Started to regret that I got a device that is not supported by LOS.
When I got my Note 10 pro last year, I also wanted a device with LineageOS support. But this was the best hardware I could find inexpensively that seemed like it had a lot of development interest, so it's what I went with.
I tried some custom ROMs when I first got it, but was disappointed and went with xiaomi.eu for a long time instead. It's only recently that LineageOS has become available, though it's not official.
