Need a little help.... Potter rom on sanders.. - Moto G5S Plus Questions & Answers

Hi.
The thing is ... I think i'm on a big trouble, I was trying to flash a stock ROM trough fastboot(because I had and HAVE no ROM) and well .. I'm running a MOTO G5s Plus (XT1800 - SANDERS), for some reason I don't know I mismatched potter with sanders, and flashed a potter rom (g5 plus) on my sanders phone, fastboot allowed that and well, system started and booted fine, but ofc camera, wifi and some other functions won't work ... I tried everything to go back to a sanders ROM, I have access to unlocked fastboot, TWRP, but no results as fastboot tell me that i'm running a POTTER ROM, but still tells me that my phone is a SANDERS ROM and ofc I can't flash any sanders rom.. any idea out there? I know this is crazy..

As you can watch, XT1800 SANDERS is RUNNING a POTTER ROM ... I cant flash a sanders rom trough fastboot cause it will tell me ofc security downgrade and validation failed .. also running now on can't load kernel..
Ty.
UPDATE: As now, I can't find a newer Sanders firmware than the potter's one... so im stuck again. (SANDERS - 28.65, POTTER - 28.85)

You need a Sanders firmware newer than the Potter firmware you loaded. It is out there somewhere - just gotta find it.

SIM Card not detected after flashing stock firmware

Hey everyone!
So after having some problems with my phone i decided to flash the android 9 stock firmware on my XT1925-5 which worked wonderful, except the sim card wasn't detected anymore... Then i thought maybe flashing revengeOS on it would fix the problem, but well, it didnt . Does anyone here know a fix for this?
The stock firmware i flashed: The one from motostockrom and then the one for the 1925-5 and then the android 9 one.
The RevengeOS ROM i use: The latest for ali
Edit: i suspect it has something to do with an error i made in manually flashing the stock firmware

You shouldn't use a flashfile.bat created by someone else unless it's created by Root junkie's xml converter.
Looks like this is the firmware you need
https://mirrors.lolinet.com/firmware/moto/ali/official/RETEU/
XT1925-5_ALI_RETEU_9.0_PPSS29.55-37-7-6_cid50_subsidy-DEFAULT_regulatory-DEFAULT_CFC.xml.zip
You could try Lmsa flash rescue but it may not recognize your device in it's current condition.
RSD lite is the next best if you have a Windows 7 pc not 10.
Next option is fastboot.exe

Hello and thank you for your answer.
I've installed the correct stock rom and suddenly the sim/sd-card work fine.
But I used the latest rom i found:
mirrors.lolinet.com/firmware/moto/ali/official/RETEU/
XT1925-5_ALI_RETEU_9.0_PPSS29.55-37-7-10_cid50_subsidy-DEFAULT_regulatory-DEFAULT_CFC.xml.zip.
I installed this with flashfile.bat, without any issues. Now every problem is solve and RenvengeOS works fine too.
Thank you very much.
Wishing you all the best!

Moto G5S Plus [Stock]: Backup data with bootloop

Hi,
I woke up with my Moto G5S Plus stuck with bootloop screen (i can just see Hello word during startup and then the phone reboot itself). The phone has all from stock (so officials bootloader and rom)
My goal is not losing precious photos and informations that i would want to preserve or save to my computer.
I already try a lot of things like:
- Safe Boot
- Booting with bootloader with Factory Mode
- Restart multiple time
- Clean cache partition by Recovery mode and by fastboot
- Re-flash stock ROM with fastboot and SANDERS_OPS28.65-36-14_cid50_subsidy-DEFAULT_regulatory-DEFAULT
But still in bootloop.
I try also to looking a lot of posts but seems that is not possibile to download my photos with fastboot/adb/recovery mode with stock firmware.
Other options like:
- Wipe Data partition from Recovery Mode
- Unlock bootloader for boot TWRP and then save my files
- Use Rescue by Rescue and Smart Assistant Tool
Should resolve but they cause the loosing of my data for what i read and if i understand right.
So, is there a way for recover my personal files without losing it during the hard-reset of the phone?
Thanks a lot

Hi,
I woke up with my Moto G5S Plus stuck with bootloop screen (i can just see Hello word during startup and then the phone reboot itself).

Hey, i landed up in similar situation. Did you find a fix?
Thanks

SIM Card not detected (IMEI Detected) -- (XT1925-6)

Like title says, both custom rom and stock rom both show no SIM card. This happened after I flashed the unofficial LineageOS 16.0 custom rom and Magisk to my device. To fix this problem, I followed steps from this guide to return to stock, using the the most recent link to get a stock rom from that guide. This did not fix the problem, and I decided to instead flash TWRP again and boot into a 64 bit custom rom, this time Resurrection Remix v8.6.1, with Magisk and GApps, and this did not fix the problem either. What makes this different than other posts is that I still have a IMEI showing; other people do not. I honestly don't know how to fix this, if someone who knows more than me could help me that would be amazing, as the phone is unusable as a daily driver as I cannot text or call.

Try to wipe carrier, modemst1 and modemst2 from adb.
This should solve your problem on stock.

[HELP] Phone bricked

Greetings, I'm recurring to this community since I'm kinda desperate (and a bit hopeless) with my phone. So, I was trying to move from Pixel Experience 10 to PE 11, and the process got stucked in twrp, so foolish me, restarted the phone thinking I was gonna be able to start over. So I find myself with no os on my phone and I can't make it start in anyway.
I tried:
- Rescue and Smart Assistant (the only time it worked, after 4 hours, I don't know if reached the 100% completation, throw an error, didn't took note since I thought the cable got moved and tried to start again, with no luck)
- Using flashboot with the files I got from the stock .zip
- locking bootloader (with no success)
I was able to get different results, in one time, apparently worked but got the "invalid key" when trying to launch. In the phone I got error like "failed to load kernel". I'm still able to enter flashboot, so I don't know how bricked my phone is.
I'm far from being experienced, I was searching old posts but, like I said, I'm not being able to get my phone to work. Hope someone can help me.

slot-bootable invalid?

Hi!
i have put 10+ hours scouring with google trying to find an answer but no luck
a friend just wants his important pictures off this moto e5 that started going in a bootloop
first bought a new e5 and replaced the old motherboard into it ( shorted power switch )
which allowed to boot into a black screen asking to enter password to start android
put his password in, says Starting android . . . then reboots into a dim Moto boot screen that keeps shutting on and off indefinately
tried LMSA flashing the firmware (had stock firmware, locked ) but did not solve the problem ( used fastboot to flash, to prevent loss of userdata ) getvar seems to confirm flashing was succesful, as the version changed to what LMSA downloaded
here is getvar

im thinking the problem is lying in those INVALID notes at the bottom there but do not know enough fastboot commands to figure out a fix
do not care about getting the phone to work at all so only help will be from being able to access userdata one way or another
it is stock locked unrooted etc
hope that is helpful for helping
much appreciated!
maka
encryption is hardware-backed, one can't replace motherboard like this.
