Mine gets hot too when charging. I think its normal since we are not the only ones who related about this.
Relatively to notifications, I switched to global beta and it was fixed, then it is a matter of time to arrive to stable. Now I am with xiaomi.eu, and if you want your phone to be the most updated one then xiaomi.eu is the best option.

40 °C is not hot. This is just warm. And if you put close to 18 W constant power in your battery this is normal. Don't bother. What temperature are you talking about? Battery? If so how did you measure it?

i think its the battery idk the whole back of my phone gets hot, antutu app said that, is there better application to measure that?

Mine goes up to 41.5 C but room temperature is 28 C when I charge it these days. If you're like me and obsessed with preserving the battery as much as possible then just use a regular charger(one you can trust from a phone you had) provided you have one, the difference I measured between 18W and I think 10W which is what a regular charger outputs was 10 minutes and my battery was 3 C cooler at peak so it's fine for me.

The app notification icon in the top bar is a known bug/feature of the official EEA/Global versions.
There is an app to fix it called NotchTest, or you could just flash xiaomi.eu ROM and be done with that issue altogether.

Xiaomi Mi Mix Quick charge 3.0 question. Please help

I have recently purchased the Mi Mix with the Chinese ROM, I have now unlocked the bootloader and flashed the most current global ROM, I believe the Mi MIx is quick charge 3.0 according to specs on Qualcomm and Xiaomi website. I have tried the LG g5 quick charge plug and the Anker quick charge 3.0 powerport +1 and neither of them display fast or quick charging, it definitely isn't quick charging as it takes nearly 5 hours to charge. Any help or info would be appreciated as it's driving me crazy, I understand it's a much bigger battery but surely 5 hours for a brand new phone isn't fast charging, could this be the kernel or global ROM isn't supported. Thank you to anyone that me be able to help in any way.
Ok?

I don't understand why it would take that long, the question would be from what % are you changing, my mix takes a little more than an hour to go from 45% to 100, and a little bit more than two hours from 5% with the changer that it came with, remember not all phones are created equal also I'm on epic rom 7.3.30
Battery is 4000 mAh then to charge you have to wait a bit... with a quick charge 3, i have 1h45 to fully charge my device...
Try another usb cable
Ok, I changed the cable and plug, charging from 0-100% in just under 2 hours, fairly quick but should it show on the lock screen as fast charging as mine shows just charging.
I'm using Ampere app (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gombosdev.ampere). On original charger it shows max possible current 1800 mA, and after some crazy readings it stabilizes indeed around of that value. Other my chargers are not so good. You have to wait a bit (minute?) until the reading will be accurate. First readings are crazy high.
Other such apps probably work as well.
ampere give u right speed amperage value.... value decrease with higher battery level, you are not full mA all the time.... if somedody use a custom kernel like papashclumpf... try to ask a way to fully charge all the ime... i suppose kernel can manage this !

Under 2 hours should be quick charging.
i agree

Charging Current not steady!

I have try with three chargers and 1 powerbank. When i use quickcharge the current measured in Ampere is not steady, it can go from 800mah to 3400mah and this is not good at all for the battery. Can someone check if they are having the same problem?
Thank you in advance!
Today i was charging my device witv a quicharge powerbank and it doesn't quickcharge at all and charge until 80%, and stop charging and start heating bad, i was slepping and wake up because of the heat. Is a problem with my device or it is common?
use original charger. i dont face any of these issues

As i said i have try with a lot or charger, the original one included. Have you monitored the current? Also sometines it start conecting and disconecting or it get stuck at 80% and start heating up. It seems it only happen with quickcharge, if i use a normal one i don't have this problem.
Thank you very much for your help!
There is no one kind enougth to download ampere and test this???. It can take at most 5 minutes....
I tested and it goes from 1660 mA to 4050mA, the most time it spends on 3200-3600mA

Thank you very much! I really apreciate this. Now i know it is not a problem with my phone but a bug from the software. Can i ask wich charger did you use?
Original charger that came with the phone

The phone doesn't charge in full throttle while the display is turned on. So most of the time i charge with the display off. Keep it on and it will switch to 500 mah. Or max I have got with original charger and cable is 2500 mah

The problem is not that, the problem is that it fluctuates heavy, like in 10 seconds it goes up and down and it is not temperature related. With the screen turned off is the same, you can check. Also with some charges it doesn't even charge or stop charging from no where. It isn't ok by any means. Sometimes it even stop charing at 80% at stay heating up!
Can you confirm with ampere is yours is fluctuating like that too??? It will be nice to confirm that is in all the models.

Oh like that, ok my phone is at 3%, let it die after some time then i will charge and see with Ampere

Ok i have done a recording of the Ampere charging

At 100% it is 200 mah charging. Which should not at all

Thank you very very very much. In your phone the current fluctuates but not that heavy, i will say that it is inside the normal parameters, like from 2900-3050. Anyway it should be able to charge a little more, like 3400mah. The problem at 95% is present at mine too. It charges really slow but it is normal, for security reasons.
So now i don't know, maybe my phone charging circuit is ****ed up or something .
It just fluctuates little that's not a problem.
But if it keeps jumping big levels then why not try with a different USB cable and see?
EDIT: Sorry just now I saw your first post. So it seems something else is wrong. I'm using the Nokia provided charger and USB and have been getting this much since the day I owned it. I think I would have seen 3500 in Oreo and now in Pie it seems to be pushing high current until about 80%. So not sure if it is just hardware only or software only problem on your phone.

I have tried with different cables and chargers, also i think the problem is not the usb-c port. Maybe the charge system is ****ed up or maybe something in the battery. Sometimes it is more steady but sometimes it start jumping from 1000ma to 3500ma and start going lower again. For example after 60% it charges steady at 1840mah like nothing. So i am not sure what is the real problem. Thank you for sharing!

You are making me worried
Until now it's all hearsay, I haven't really seen any proof that Mi 11 devices are actually having these issues.
That being said, it's natural for some devices to have issues. This happens with literally every model of every brand. That's why warranties were created in the first place, otherwise if all devices were perfect, warranties would be useless.
I've had mine for about 2 months and never had any overheating issues. Not even while gaming. The only time I felt it hot in my hand was when running a few Antutu benchmarks back to back.

Agreed, not a problem for me either being using it since January, especially on the new MIUI 12.5 update. My Mi 11 feels so much better than ever. Cheers

How is battery with new fw?
My phone just crashed while i was trying to post this
Those are my temps and I'm just uploading an archive on wifi everything is off the sim is set on 2G all low brightness and 60hz
Are these temps normal? It's not the first time it gets hot from uploading or downloading
In normal usage i usually get 5 hours with 50 percent remaining but when I upload or download something it drains from 50 to 25 in 30 minutes wtf

Those temps look normal if you're using it. Uploading big files and using the Wi-Fi hard takes quite a bit of energy and releases quite a bit of heat off the modem.
I've tried to run several speedtests back to back on my Wi-Fi and the phone gets a bit warm to the touch, especially on the top, but I couldn't call it hot, just warm. Temps are similar to yours, up to 50'sC on the CPU and 38 on the battery

Even my 845 did better than this phone

I have overheating issues. I'm waiting to send it back to get a new one. One day the phone got suddenly really hot then i shutdown. And then it didn't turn on. Then I plugged it in and the mainboard gets up to 55 Celsius. With some tricks you can turn it on but it only charge with around 450mA with the 55W charger and is still very hot until you disconnect the charger.

This isn't a new issue for Xiaomi. From the mi 10 t/t pro to the poco x3 pro and f3, it seems to interest a wide array of models. If this reassures people at least for the mi 10t/t pro later revisions fixed the issue

Question Mi 11 Ultra charging slow while gaming or using

Mi 11 Ultra is charging really slow when I play game or even do a normal surfing or using whatsapp
It's really irritating. Any fix for this.? Is it a software or hardware limitations.??
PS: Phone charges really fast when it is locked nd kept aside. Using indian variant and 55W charger that came with box
Its not 67w charger?
It could be a heat issue. If the phone is too hot, specially when gaming 3d it reduces the charging cause it has control temperature module.

In India we got 55W charger with box. And coming to the point, I agree during gaming it might charge slow due to heating issues. But during surfing nd whatsapp-ing if I charge then also it's god damn slow, do u face same issue.?? Can u pls confirm
When locked it charges really fast.
what is your ambient tempeture? it also affects it.
Thats the reason why some people get the 38min charging from 0 to 100 and others get 45min or more

It's 28°C.
I think the temperature of phone goes up during normal usage than when it is locked. I think that's the issue causing slow charging during normal usage. But I want to know if this an issue with the device or normal.??

That's definitely no issue! The Snapdragon 888 heats very fast and while charging even more. So there is no wonder it will reduce the charging speed to cool down while using the phone.

Question Does anyone know why my Redmi Note 10 5G do this?

It randomly died at 50% charge, then when I tried to boot it up all it shows is a black screen with a white empty battery icon, what does this mean? And how to fix this? Please and thank you.
Last time I used it is on the charger it came with, but after a moment the phone doesn't seem to work anymore.

Unfortunately not; I tried asking in Mi Forums as well but no one, not even a community rep answered.
this will be my last redmi phone i ever buy or recommend
time to warranty check
i never have any problem wirh xiaomi. best for quality/cost. if i will decide change brand, my next phone will be a pixel. the only one better than xiaomi. in most of cases, your battery problem is caused by a bad charger use. not from phone hardware or software. simply buy a new battery and recharge wirh a good charger from min 20 to max 80. a continuos full discharge process cause battery fast degrade. web is full of articles that talk about this
This is very likely to be due to a faulty/worn out battery.
