Hello
Currently I have US unlocked note 8 and using Telus which is one of Canadian carriers.
Unfortunately Volte is not available for US unlocked note 8 probably due to different CSC country code.
If I flash firmware for Canadian will I fully be able to use carrier specific features?
Is there any guide for this ?
Thanks for reading.

Hey! I have kind of a similar issue. i bought my s8 from Canada (service provider : bell). When i moved back to India, i needed region specific apps like SPay to work. Then i could manage to change CSC code from BMC (Bell) to XAC (Canada unlocked). However, i need to change it to INS. I downloaded Indian s8 firmware. But i am not sure if i can flash HOME_CSC using Odin as my S8 is a snapdragon variant(obviously) and I'm really worried if it would brick my device. Or if i would not receive OTA's (Because ONE UI is all I'm looking for) . Please guide me here.

Your device, INS/INS/XSP, is the best you can get
The last XSP is the PRODUCT-CODE of your device, and can't be changed!

hi there, i've change my firmware from an irish carrier to BTU, but my carrier id won't change from MET to BTU, but from what your saying you still get the updates and so on, is that correct?
have no samsung pay
hi. sorry for this noob question because i am kinda new to samsung. my question is would it be possible to change csc from tgy to xtc? my note 9 is a snapdragon variant from hongkong. and i am currently in the philippines. and if this is possible will there be any problems like ota update and future updates of the phone? thank you and hoping anyone can enlighten me with this matter.
Why would you want to do this? As you can still receive OTA updates for your device, no matter where you are in the world. I am currently using the Korean Note 8 N950N in Hong Kong and I am still receiving OTA updates from Korea.
hi @iceepyon. thank you for your reply. my problem is if i am using samsung members app the support team answering me is from samsung hong kong and not from samsung philippines which is where i am. if i need repairs and stuff i wont be able to go to hong kong as i am here in the philippines. samsung benefits is not working as well. and some of samsung app like the galaxy app is showing hong kong currency not in peso. now my question is if i change my csc to philippines will i be able to use features that is for the local unit on my hong kong unit?

You won't be able to get support from Samsung Philippines anyway as they will be able to find out that you have a Hong Kong device when they check the IMEI number of your device.

To get WiFi calling and VoLTE
Isn't the new OS's changing CSC when putting a different region/country SIM on the next reboot, when you click YES on first boot(clean boot with the new SIM) to reset and change the CSC of the phone ?! It is one time only use after pressing NO or YES it will not show it again before wiping the phone again. My phone a DBT was set to XEO after a week on service center in Poland, even flashing it multiple times it wouldn't change from it, till I put my Germany SIM and press YES. Hope it helped a bit
It will change the last of them not all CSC
My was
DBT/DBT/XEO
and normal is
DBT/DBT/DBT
I got Canadian N960W Note 9 (Snapdragon) and first time I put Croatian SIM card CSC hasn't changed.
PDA: N960WVLU1ARJA
Active CSC: BMC (Bell Mobility Canada)
I'm still looking if there is a way to inject local CSC (SEE or DHR) into this firmware in order to get volte/vowifi. I don't really care about updates/OTA.

Hello,
Thanks to this XDA thread and some other sources I was able to compile a list of CSC codes that enable native call recording on Samsung ROMs. This is the list:
Indonesia (XID)
Vietnam (XXV)
Ukraine (SEK)
Israel (ILO)
India (INS)
Thailand (THL/CAM/MYM)
Egypt (EGY)
Bangladesh (BNG)
Laos (LAO)
Libya (LYS)
Nepal (NPL)
Sri Lanka (SLK)
Allergy (TMC/WTL)

nice work! it wouldnt surprise me if the sim placed into the phone would make the phone lock to that sims CSC and disable it. Are you able to give it a try and see?

u cant flash firmware of a single particular CSC when its part of multi csc firmware. ure sim will default to xyz specific csc.
there are ways to force or change csc. use search on xda.
You can add India (INS) to that list.
And you need the sim card of the particular country to get the CSC features. When the phone reboots after flashing the OXM firmware, the phone detects the sim card and it will ask for a reboot. Then you will have the CSC features of the country that sim card belong to. Later then the sim card can be switched back and the settings will remain even after reboot.

So does call recording work in Android 9 & 10 since it is disabled by default in Android 9 & 10 ????
On Samsung Note 9 (dual sim) N960F I tried the following roms:
Israel: Too old rom, haven't tried.
EGYPT: NOPE.
TUNIS: NOPE.
INDIA: NOPE.
SRI LANKA: NOPE.
If anyone has any tips on which region shall I try, hit me up...
Somebody knows any of Snapdragon CSCs (ACG, AIO, ATC, ATT,BST, CCT, CHA, GCF, LRA, SPR, TFN, TMB, TMK, USC, VMU, VZW, XAA, XAG, XAS) with call recording support?

So I got call recording on my Note 9, Android 10! YAYYYY!
Well today I paid for SamKey so I could share my experience.
- Original region: XEH (EU/Hungary)
- Base firmware was the latest (March)
- Phone: Note 9 SM-N960F Dual-Sim, 128GB version, factory unlocked.
The process...
PART I: Flashing the base ROM.
- Use "SamFirm" tool to download the latest firmware for a region you want.
- Use Sammobile.com to see which region you need, what is your phone model, etc.
- I recommend using an SSD for this cause it's way faster to work with that in ODIN.
- Use the regular "CSC" file, not the HOME_CSC one.. this will wipe the phone, but it only worked for me this way.
- Once you installed the rom, just enable dev settings, enable ADB, allow your PC.
Part 2: SamKey.
- Bought credits on Samkey (hella expensive.)
- Removed SIM card.
- Flashed latest INDIA [INS] rom (supposedly has call recording).
- set up phone as per instructions, enabled ADB, opened SamKey.
- Changed region to INDIA [INS].
- Reboot, insert SIM.
- Call recording shows up.
My life is complete.
Ps.: First I posted a message saying it did NOT work, but turns out I wrote "IND" instead of INS in CSC field. lol.
Pps.: Changing CSC only costs 1 credit. You can find 3 credits on eBay if you can't afford the bulk option from the main site.
There is also "chimera tool" that supports new(er) phones.. you MIGHT need that one.. uh for me this worked.
I AM NOT ASSOCIATED WITH EITHER, I FOUND THEM TODAY, I DON'T CARE WHAT THEY ARE AS LONG AS THEY WORK.
My KNOX did NOT trip during the process. It's still 0x0.

I dunno, I am still installing my phone but I can't tell any difference so far...
maybe you don't even have to wipe, you could try that too in the name of science.
Also make sure to use a CSC that has call recording. India has it, that's for sure. Israel for example SUPPOSEDLY has it. But if you check Israel for Note 9 on Sammobile, you can see their updates lag behind a lot. I feel bad for the people of Israel... weird thing they get lagged so much. So anyway, check if you are flashing a newer or same version at least. No biggie if you mess up, ODIN will get stuck, you gotta reboot phone into ODIN, start over with a proper firmware pack.
Good luck everyone.
Ps.: Keep this low(ish)...? I realize we are on XDA, and sharing is caring, but honestly I don't know if Samsung will take this method out if it gets "out". Maybe I am just paranoid. Please Sammy if you read this, DO NOT REMOVE this feature. Thank you.

Well im getting this
Samsung Galaxy Note9 SM-N960F INS India N960FXXS5DTB6 firmware
from sammobile ( excrutiatingly slow) i hope i wont get any problems, is this the same Firm you flashed?
And yes i can try to do a flash without wiping just for the science.
Also clarify something to me, you had to use the samkey and pay the credits in order to unlock your phone? or is it needed just to change the region to INS after flashing? i ask this becuse my phone is already unlocked.

- You really use Sammobile only to find out the CSC/Region code you want, and the phone model. Maybe you know both already. I didn't. So I went to Sammobile -> Firmware and checked. You don't need the site further.
- To get the firmware, use "SamFirm". It is a tool.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-tab-s/general/tool-samfirm-samsung-firmware-t2988647
Make sure "Decrypt automatically" is ticked, and "Check CRC32" is NOT ticked. (this is the default).
For my SM-N960F (Exynos, Dual SIM), I just wrote:
Model: SM-N960F
Region: INS
[CHECK UPDATE]
then
[DOWNLOAD]
- Flashing is really harmless. Can't really trip KNOX, can't do any harm.
- Yes, you must pay for SamKey. The main site has an expensive pack (15 credits), I got that, but ebay has like "pack of 3" keys and whatnot. Try to buy such a pack from a seller with good reputation. I'd just give you credits if I could but I don't think that's possible. I can send you credits apparently on the site. It says I can send you one a day. So make an account on SamKey, and send me your name in private. I'll send you 2-3 credits if you want.

1) You messed up the model number.
SM-G9600 is the "global name".
Your phone is.... "SM-G960F" for example.
You can check here: https://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_s9-8966.php
2) You can use Sammobile and SamFirm, they are the same thing. Just SamFirm is SO MUCH FASTER...
3) Okay, just send me whenever, not in a hurry lol. I want to do the CSC change for my friend's Note 10+, but that still leaves me with a lot of spare credits, don't worry.

- I am no expert, I'd say install a tool like this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.vndnguyen.phoneinfo&hl=en
- You can also install the "SamKey" tool (without paying) and it has this function called "Read phone info". That might also tell you. Again, you just install it, run it, and it uses ADB to tell you every little detail.
- Maybe even the ODIN Download mode also tells you...
I THINK you have the SM-N960F - if your phone is a global, dual SIM Exynos variant. But only if you have that. SM-N960U is the Snapdragon variant (USA). "SM-N9600/DS (LATAM, Brazil, China)".
I donwloaded that app you told me.. this is the info...
Samsung
SM-N9600 /Galaxy NOte9
Device type: crownqltechn
country of origin Made in china
Date of fabrication: 2018-12-05
Knox warranty counter: 0x0
thenon the CSC code tab it says..
prodict ID: SM-N9600ZBMMXO
csc code of firmware: TPA
CSC Active code: MXO
CSC avaliable codes: CHO, COO, EON,MXO,PEO, TPA, ZTO; BVO, DOO, GTO, UPO, UYO
CSC country: MExico/MX
Mobile operator: 334020
not sure if the rest is relevant..
So it is a8gb/ 512gb ,Snapdragon variant for Mexico Made in china.
Update: 1
I was able to change csc in Q for our n960n and this is how i did:
I flashed Superstable Q rom and the Dev included the option during installation in aroma to chose a different csc, i keept using the rom for 2-3 days and didn't have any issues, but before returning to Pie i did tested Dr.ketan's Q rom rom and Alexndr's-devbase Q rom and in both cases i still had my csc.

Im opening this thread to find a solution on how to change the csc on note9 n960n in android 10.
Doing so in Android Pie was easy ( of course with help from this great community ).
there is a tool provided here called - Csc selector - which i used and it worked great ( for note8/note9/note10), some roms offer the option to chose during installation.
when i updated to android 10 it changes the csc i had, probably because Samsung made some changes so i guess we will have to wait until more csc are released with updating process still in the way.
i will post any news/tutorial i find here and hopefully you too.
Almighty bump for this frustrating problem. I too am on the incorrect CSC on Q...everything works so I just ignore it but I can't help but think I am not getting the reception I would otherwise be getting if all available bands were utilised. I am on n960 FDS and should be on XSA CSC but I'm on XSG.
I'm not sure there are even Android 10 roms available for XSA region code yet.

We might be near because Samsung keeps releasing android Q to more regions for n9 and s9 now started to get its update.
I'm not sure how they've done it but there is a fix if you are prepared to flash a non-stock rom or already have.
You can flash either Alexandr's Devbase or Zeus Rom beta from the zeus telegram group, and before flashing rename the rom zip to include your appropriate csc followed by _. Read first post of devbase for details, it worked a treat for me and I didn't even think XSA was available for Q roms yet.

that doesnt work for my device i have an n960n and the only supported csc are KOO, KTC, LG, SKC, i can change to one of those in alexandr's rom ( by the way i love that rom and i came back from it to pie because of this problem) but no to n960f csc's so i guess i will have to wait until there is a mod to change csc in android q.
thanks for your reply.
Maybe you can try with Samkey software, but it's not free.
Even I am in this boat, I downloaded an n960f rom and tried to flash the csc on my n960n.
And yeah it failed.
Wish it were an easier process.
I just want the random reboots to go away on q.

they offer only sim unlock, i didnt see in their web page that they can change phone model, your reply made me think if we could change the bootloader/model completely with a tool ( my friend has some of those he uses them to unlock/repair/flash phones).

No need to reset device to change csc if you already have a multi csc firmware for example OXM. Use phone info or something similar from play store to check.
I used samkey (purchased 2 credits from ebay for $5) and in a minute changed csc to THL

Buy samkey credits from ebay (you need 2 to change csc) you get them in a form of a username and password
Download samkey from theit website
Connect N10+ to your pc with the cable you got with your phone
Open samkey, input username and password, input THL in the csc field and execute. (my first attempt failed with a server error the second one suceeded)

thanks for your input but this model of note 9 - n960n is made for Korea and i has only 4 csc - KOO/LG/KTC/SKC , these csc have limitations when used outside South Korea which is the case for me, because of this i have network issues so i want to change it to a n960f model or multi csc so i dont have those network limitations.
i changed my phones csc to multi csc with a flashable tool "csc selector" and i works great but this works only in PIE, samsung made some changes in Q and it doesnt work.
Oh, ok, didn't know the story about n960n.
I need to change too!
Update
I was able to change csc in Q for our n960n and this is how i did:
I flashed Superstable rom and the Dev included the option during installation in aroma to chose a different csc, i keept using the rom for 2-3 days and didn't have any issues, but before returning to Pie i did tested Dr.ketan's Q rom rom and Alexndr's-devbase Q rom and in both cases i still had my csc.
Can i change n9600n firmware to n960f ?
Please advice me, I am new to this kind of works, thanks in advance

If you mean N960N, Yes you can as i mentioned couple post ago.
You need to root your phone by following the instructions in note 9 guides forum, then go to note 9 rom development forum and choose the one you prefer.
