I forgot my PIN to unlock my Mi9 and the USB Debug is off. How can I restore my data (mostly photos) from the device? Is there some default (factory) PINs to unlock the device?
I checked your profile to see if it wasn't a joke.
Passwords are there for a reason.
Answer:
No.
Your data is lost.
Check Google Photos if you are lucky.
Find a tutorial on how to reset your phone, but please don't post a thread on "how to reset phone with lost pin" because people will get angry.
You could have found an answer to your question just by using Google. Basically, it is as if you asked "Where is the power button on my phone".
@admin please delete this thread for our sanity.
I've PM the same message.
If encryption is enabled than it lost.

Hi guys, i have an s730 from work, and last time i was in work they had activated some security stuff that by defaults locks my phone when it goes idle, needing me to type a pin in. I typed the wrong pin in 5 times, and now the phone asks for a password, is there a default password here or some way to reset the entire phone?
data loss is no problem, i just need it functional
please note that i am not talking about the sim-pin lock.
Best regards - Fredrik
PUK? If so get it from your mobile provider. Or 0000?
hi, and thx for your reply, but no, i dont think it could be the puk code. since my sim kode is still working, i enter the sim-code, and get into the phone, i can recive calls, but i cant open any menues, i cant read sms etc. because a "phone lock"
i think this "shell lock" (directly translated from norwegian/swedish) was activated from exchange on our corp servers.
id appreciate any input.
best regards , Fredrik
Hi guys..
I've search the forum many times, with several different words.. But I can't find any solution on my problem Also asked in the Android forum, but they won't give an answer.
I've downloaded and started Android, but then it starts up and asks for the PIN-code, it allways says its the wrong PIN. And I'm sure it's not, because I use it to start WinMo.
Then I came over a post, there someone said that the PIN-check had to be disabled to use Android. Is this the fact? There are no security check on the PIN?
Okey, but thats not my main problem, I can live with that!
It seems that I cannot disable the PIN-check, when i tap the "Require PIN when phone is used." it asks for the PIN code, and when I type it in (the correct one of course) a message pops up and says: "Warning: Invalid old password. Please try again."
I KNOW FOR SURE that I typed the correct PIN.. I have no clue how to turn this off.. Is there another way to this? Can it be done with a reg-editor? I would really like to try Android, so I hope there someone out there who can help me out!
EDIT: I'm sorry if this is the wrong place to ask, maybe it would be in the general Kaiser forum. So if any moderators want to move it, just go for it =)

There are SIM without possibility of disabling PIN. U can change it, but U cannot disable it... In fact my own SIM is one of that kind - my company is not allowing phones without automatic lock after 15 minutes and sims without PIN...
hmm, hopefully these incredible programmers and developers here at the forum make it possible to use PIN with android =D
Have the same problem in here ....ufnortunately can't run Android...Hero stuff...
I mean i run them but can't get thru from the PIN...
Bloody...
Try to disable pin on an another device. If you will not be succesful, your cant turn pin off.
Forgot pattern option is not showing up even after multiple failed attempts. Is there any other way to open it without hard reset?
Thanks in advance
People tend to not give advice on this. The general assumption is it's a stolen device and I'm not saying your's is. If it is actually your device Google has multiple ways to reset it as long as you at least remember your Google password.

Fair enough. I do remember google password, but is there a way recover data without hard reset? Also is there a reason why I do not get the forgot pattern option or is that not available for this device ?
Hi.
My daughter has somehow managed to pin lock her phone and from what i can find online . The only way to remove the pin is to restore the phone to factory setting and loose all data. Ive tried a few diffrent programs to try and remove the pin but all give the warning that all data will be lost. Is there any way to remove the pin without loosing the phone data and pictures. The programs i have purchased are Pass Fab android unlocker. 4uKey for android.
Thank you.
Hello Gavshell, your daughter has a goofle account through the account here https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/9395014?hl=en
your answer is there
Thank you for the reply. We have tried that method. It works all through the process until the very last verification point and for some reason fails. I have contacted Samsung direct and they say the phone will need to be erased to log back in to it.
Hi Guys,
I tried to follow this guide: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...ing-android-password-pattern-face-pi.2620456/ without luck, I'm not able to make adb pickup my mom's phone (I tried with mine and its working after enabling USB debugger). Do you guys know a way for me to bypass/unlock the phone or at least be able to retrieve the photos and videos?
Phone: SM-G780G
Story: My mom was changing the pattern password and she got a call in the middle of doing that (not sure how 100% correct this info is...) she said that after the call she didn't get any prompt and totally forgot that she was changing the password. She was able to still use the phone with the fingerprint sensor, but now the phone is only asking for the pattern and the one she used to use does not work, I already tried using the "new one" and cut it before to see if somehow it got registered, but I do not have such luck. Does anybody know how can I do this? We just want to retrieve the photos and videos, we don't care if we need to wipe everything afterward.
Thanks!

Photos are on Phone or External Memory? I use External for this reason.
- Internal :/
Was Mom's phone set to "Developer" ?
- I don't believe so.
Can you get to Fast Boot/Boot Loader Screen? (Guides are on XDA)
- Is this the same as download mode? If yes, then yes.
Can You get to Recovery Screen? (Guides are on XDA)
- Yes
ADB can read Phone Partitions. You may have to Dump full partitions but photos will be in the mix.
- That would work. The 10/10 solution would be to remove/bypass the lock so she doesn't have to redownload everything and configure the phone again, but I'm happy only having the photos/videos

You can't do it without root and/or custom recovery, neither of which are possible on a password locked device, unless you already did that before it got locked

So, you don't know...
Why being so cryptic dude, phones are not my expertise...
use "find my mobile" samsung's website
