Unlike the pocophone the k20 pro or the mi 9t Pro are made of metal and glass instead of a plastic box, and overall more premium materials.

watch jerrywig video, he mention the side are aluminium , which is suppose to be light , and a back glass doesnt really carry any weight at all , by the way mine is the pearl white ver .

Maybe the liquid cooled heatsink and the mechanical side of the camera.

Aluminum is lighter metal, not lighter than plastic. Even air has weight, and you're having glass in the back. Plus, all these extra components, larger size. The device feels fairly balanced compared to its weight.

There is no liquid cooling. It has more advanced graphene cooling.

[FIX] Make Those Chamfered Edges Look New!

Okay so after a month of having the Note 4 (SM910C) I took it out of the case and WALLAH! It had scratched like it was baby skin! The look was horrid and it bothered me so much! However I found an easy and cheap fix! I'll post before and after pictures below.
I'll be making a video tutorial shortly!
Basically, get a sand brick with a medium grit. Check the packaging to make sure it is safe to use on metal surfaces. DO NOT USE SANDPAPER AS IT BENDS!!! The brick is stiff with a flat edge so you can angle it on the side and not have to worry about sanding the color! Gently rub in a smooth left to right motion all around the metal edges. Do it SLOWLY! Take a good 5 minutes going around repeatedly to get the best finish! I'm a little busy rn so I'll post pictures of what my sanding brick looks like and links to where you can buy one soon!
Something like this would suffice:
https://www.google.com/shopping/product/16104652056673776253?es_sm=93&biw=1920&bih=995&sclient=psy-ab&q=sanding+block&oq=sanding+b&pbx=1&bav=on.2,or.r_qf.&bvm=bv.82001339,d.cGU&pf=p&sugexp=msedr&gs_rn=60&gs_ri=psy-ab&ds=sh&pq=sanding+brick+medium+grit+safe+for+metal&cp=9&gs_id=z&xhr=t&tch=1&ech=10&psi=wpeTVNmZKY6zogT9i4HYAg.1418958808255.3&prds=paur:ClkAsKraXyK7VDsNqZUb4sdERcFY_5DdiBcf5EsU74uLRGgoWZAgQyuBUxcFGD0Enm53DOvz9canAUV9g3oxoTTj7VOUsY27d13nS4_PyOJWYSgiOXk75UCJvRIZAFPVH72lSgi63qbiUg8a9IzJS7HTzsI4IA&ei=6ZeTVP-2DJTToATs44CQAQ&ved=0CMYBEKYrMAM
looks good...
I'm going to be doing the same to a friend's Note 4 tomorrow morning so I'll probably just have him shoot that on my Note 4 and use that as the tutorial
Nice, i did something like that on my htc one, turn out good, my note so far isnt as bad thank god
Sent from my Galaxy NOTE 4
Repeating the same process after a few months will totally take those shining edges out right?
Texted from Note 4
Any kind of abrasive removes material every time.
I suggest maybe only doing that once when you come to sell the phone.
If you want to use a method like this, take your phone down to a jewelry workshop and they can buff out any scratches you get on any metal surface, me and the wifes wedding rings look amazing when we take them to get done, no reason why the note 4's edge should be any different, minimal loss of material too so it can be repeated way after the phone has passed it's warranty.
Any polishing process produces either dust, paste or other residues, these need clearing away after polishing but not before they get a chance to get into the tiny gaps & arround button openings, jewellery polishing mops use a paste or powder as the abrasive medium which is washed off after.
Abrasive blocks are designed to wear away exposing layers of fresh sharp grit so those used particles with get into the gaps on the phone.
It's not really a good idea TBH
To the OP, what case were/are you using? Definitely looks like one to avoid! Lol
sent from my Galaxy Note 4 using Tapatalk
It's still shiny as it shipped so I don't know. I wouldn't recommend this as a common task, only when the scratches get elevated to a level where it annoys the bonkers out of you. I don't think it'll loose the shine
Pat. my case is a slim fit so I dont have to worry about that and I made sure to even the surface out. Crash_194 I use the Spigen Tough Armor series for the Note 4. Removing the phone from the case scratches it due to the case being such a tight fit in the first place. I have the white N4 so I take it out to clean. However for those of you with Charcoal N4's shouldn't worry!
I used sandpaper grit 2000 and the scratches on the chamfered edge are gone. But it's not that shiny anymore.
bro any update on the video tuto ?
So is this happening with all cases?

Yes, especially if you live in an area of sandy soil. No matter what case you have microscopic particles will eventually get in there and scratch up the surface. I've seen it with a bunch of different cases.

Either that or you don't live in an area that has sandy soil.
From the pics it looks really good. Sooner or later there will be a decent mid frame on ebay. I have only seen one or two rose/White ones and they were almost 60$
It's an easy swap and very worth it if u are planning on selling it

Redmi K20 (Mi 9T) VS Samsung A70

https://youtu.be/aJ7H2SN2VsA
If you watched the video you can clearly see that both phones have same brightness level yet the A70 screen looks much brighter and better than K20's screen which is dim and has ugly red tint. Samsung used a a very high quality amoled panel in the A70, the best I have seen in this price range. A70 also has bigger screen, bigger battery, and performance is great. It's downside is the ugly outdated back design and build materials. K20 has notchless display but look how thick the phone is. A70 is much thinner and sleek. I think the A70 is the winner.
I might be biased since I own the A70  Still the superiority of A70's AMOLED screen is undeniable and it's the main reason why I choose Samsung phones over other brands.
Bottom line: Not all AMOLED screens are created equal! Chinese phones use cheaper lower quality amoleds.
What do you think? :fingers-crossed:
I think the back of the a70 is really nice and does every thing I want it too just a shame the back srat he's so easy
the mi 9t is 300€ in france or 350€ depends on deals.

you are probably right. just like lcd screens, big difference between LG and XIAOMI ones.
but at least k20 has gorilla glass 5. a70 has version 3.
it always gonna be a trade off...

Yes you r right my source site was wrong.
Good to know
Also loving this battery life... way better than s10+
So a70 or mi 9t
I still prefer Samsung a70 over mi 9t
Special regards the display
I have no problem with the back of the phone i'm using a case anyway or after a month i will find tiny scratches everywhere even if the back is metal
Im currently debating between mi 9t or a70.
Which phone has better camera and video quality.
Can someone give me a hand?
Xiaomi mi 9T is the better device to me and yes I have both.
K20 has its disadvantages....
No expandable storage capacity..
Screen size...
Battery life...
These 3 are the ones which made me go for a70 rather than any other phone...

64gb or 128gb expandable storage is a personal preference.
Screen size is a personal preference screen on the a70 could be to big for some.
Battery is great on both back to screen smaller less battery consumption.
Disadvantage a70 sd675, glastic back that scratches easily, oh and one low speaker I have to crack it to the max most of the time.

Well, plastic back is actually preferable with larger phones because of the risk of accidental drop. And to be honest, a70 performs pretty good as well. And it is perfectly slim and anyone can hold this phone in his/her hand without problem. One hand usage is pretty awesome.
The speaker volume is good enough. But plug in a good mid tire headset, its amazingly good...

Dust in wide angle camera lens

I just noticed there is a lot of dust particles in the wide angle camera lens. It was not there before and this much dust is accumulated inside just in 5 days of usage. The main camera unit is dust free though.
Please share if anyone is having same issue. Other wise its a device specific issue.

Yes even I have this issue with my device. Within 5-6 days of usage there is dust in the wide angle camera lens. Main camera is clean but there is lots of dust in the wide angle lens.

I got water vapour in my lens both
It was my mistake as well, i had kept my phone in my rain jacket pocket and it was raining a lot. Although the phone was under zipper pocket the condensation of water vapour is visible under the lens. I know this phone is not water proof however Asus could have done a better job at least to seal the camera lens.

so would it be ok to just put a tape on the vent? it's not that useful anyway right?
im guessing it's the main reason why dust goes into the phone.

I just taped the vent the day I received the phone because the vent doesn't do much cooling at all. Been using it all day for past 9 days, travelling outside in a very dusty City and not even a particle of dust visible anywhere.

Just used transparent tape. A rectangular piece in the right size such that the Aero case which they've given exactly covers both of the sides of the tape. Basically unnoticeable.

My phone went through a tough time because of rain. The power button was misbehaving, I guess there was some moisture in there as well. I thought that it was the end for my ROG phone just after 7 days of purchase. However in after 3 dry days, everything is normal once again. I guess I was lucky. The condensation has gone away completely. I do not have any spec pf dust in my camera under the glass. The power button is working good once again :good:

I just received the replacement. If this also acquires dust i will update the post after a few days of use ( i also have taped the orange accented back opening just to be safe ). As for the red tint, its still there but much less as compared to my previous device, so this confirms this is a panel behavior, which means if you are planning to replace the device it might be good or bad ie the new device might have less tint or more tint.

I doubt it's panel behaviour. Since I did more test and for me i suspect it's software behaviour, because white theme gives 0 red tint.
Only on grey scale red tint shows more.

That is the actual issue. Irrespective of any theme or skin. Any dark grey turns reddish on low brightness and high refresh rate. Any other color is unaffected, so why would white turn red?

anyone got Samsung clear view case

anyone got clear view case.......
I'm trying to figure out where the magnets are placed and the chip..
if you feel the case material you can feel the magnets and where the chip is
Reason is i bought note 20 clear view instead of note20 ultra case. so i was going to put sensors in my present case so it switch off when i close
picture would be helpful
there should be an indentation of where the magnet is from what I remember. It's really thin on the bottom left of the flap. I believe all versions since they introduced that line.

The chip is NFC. It'll tell the phone that you are using that particular case and give you a notification to download themes based on the color of the case. It should be close enough to rear but not block/interfere the NFC antenna after the initial read.
Try and turn on your NFC and tap it.

Question Is the ceramic back softer than Mi Mix and other Panels ?

Hey Folks,
I have noticed 2 small chips in the ceramic back panel of my Mi 11 Ultra on the 5th day of delivery. It's so small(almost needle tip size), it's not visible under normal daylights. Need to check in room light and by slightly moving the phone. Is anyone else also noticing such chips ? I feel these are factory defects mostly since the chipped parts are also equally shining/reflective.
I have had Mi mix in the past for more than 1.5 years. Never noticed any such chip on Mix. I never use any protection film or case since I guess ceramic doesn't scratch with daily objects and my phones don't fall very often(touch wood).
No point in adding a photo of the chip since I am not even able to capture it on camera, its so small.
Just Clean the back side and put a skin

Thanks for the amazing tip Bro. You sorted my life.
Anyone noticing such chips is my question. I am checking with the service center for replacement anyways. Just want to understand if this is a one-off unit or it's a general problem.
Its General issue to all Ceramic and Glass Panels.
Ceramic in general should be harder than glass

I put it in a good case... if you value the device.

Depends, I don't prefer to make my device bulky when I hardly drop it. Had 1st gen Mi Mix for 2 years without skin or case, no drop, no scratch. Mate 20X for about 3 years, I use skin on the rear since it's glass(very scratch-prone), maybe a total of 2 drops of 2 feet height, and it survived both

Yes, that's what I am concerned about. I am not sure if the dents are done by me or factory-made. Ceramic phone I was planning to keep without any skin since I have already kept Mi Mix for 2 years without any rear-skin.
Mi Mix Ceramic was rated 8 on Mohs by JerryRigsEverything in its scratch test. I found a video of Mi 11 Ultra scratch test where the guy rates it 7 on Mohs.

It may not be you who drops the slippery fish, one fouled hand off is all it takes. Maybe it will happen to fall four feet onto concrete. Actually a true story, the brand new phone belonged to my former scumbag boss. It was a tragedy
I have a 10+ that's heavy and the only thing it wuves to do more than corner hit is face plant. Without a case it just wouldn't be it's spotless self.
High G impact ie 3-4 feet onto tile, concrete etc generates enough high G loading to break a chipset's internal bonds amoung other things.
A good case spreads out the impact G spike load and makes it survivable. It also makes it easier to hol, to grasp and helps prevent accidental screen touches especially with curved displays so it's more usable.
These are not ruggedized phones without a case.
Do as you will...

Glass and ceramic are chemically similar but structurally different. Ceramic tends to be slightly harder, but sand will scratch it. Most metals will not.
You can actually use the edge of a car window the sharpen a knife. A ceramic cup also works.
It's possible you did it, it only takes a grain of sand. At least it's not the display. Consider a wet apply plastic screen protector. My display would have been scratched by now without one.
A good case has slighty raised edge guards that prevent direct contact on flat surfaces.
Fun fact, you can polish out very fine scratches in glass with a dry palm or finger tip.
Your skin is slightly abrasive to glass.
Works on coated optics like as well.
