lock the device immediate with pin code

Hi all
Now I've set the device to ask a pin code to lock the device after 30 minutes of being not used. Isn't there an option/way so the pin lock is immediately active when I want it to be (like pushing some seconds on the end button), using another hardware button or by executing some file?
I've tried to map '"\Windows\Keylock.exe" /toggle' to a hardware key (with an timeout of 0 minutes in settings - lock), but that just prompts the way the/which keys should be locked, as if you would execute keylock.exe without the '/toggle' parameter.
The question is.. what invokes the pin unlock screen to appear?
PS: best wishes for 2008!
hold end call for 3 seconds!
ekw, thanks for you answer but
pushing the end call button:
- doesn't activate/show the pin lock screen,
- any "child who can read" knows howto unlock the device.
the thing is that if it gets stolen, they need to do a hard reset so sensitive data (putted on the device instead of the SD) will be erased
I already tries S2U2 but that locks the device in the same 'security' level as pushing the end call button for some seconds and it mentions howto unlock it

Instant PIN Security
As noted in the first post, is there a way to get the phone to security lock on command, where you have to enter the pin to use it again?
I know you can hold down the end call button and get it to screen lock, but is there a way to get it to go into security lock?
I would like to turn the automatic settings off, so that the phone ONLY goes into security lock when I say it does, or, set it so that it only does it automatically like every three hours. That way, I can set it to go into security lock more often if I wish to.
Thanks!
if you turn the screen off using the power button,m and back on, does the lock not activate?
Or have you not told it to lock when waking from standy?

That works if you set auto lock on 0 minutes, but then you have to enter the PIN each and every time you turn the thing on. He wants it to lock only when he presses a lock key.
I unfortunately don't know of anything that does it.

Exactly. Thank you for your comments.
I don't want to have to enter the PIN every time I turn it on. Well, I know I can set it for an hour or longer and that would be fine.
But I want to be able to put it down, with the PIN code enabled, without worrying about random prying eyes looking into it or using it.
Anyone else have any thoughts??

[Q] Lock screen time

One thing I miss from my HTC is the option to have the lock code screen come in to action after a set time rather than instantly
is it possible to do this on the O2x with the without installing another app
It gets annoying having to enter the unlock code each time the screen goes off
would rather have it set to lock after 10 mins or so

You can change the lock screen delay (if this is what you meant) in the settings/display menu. You'll see the screen timeout setting there.
You should also post stuff like this in the Q and A section, not general.
What i'm after is for the phone to lock with a security code after a preset time. not every time the screen switches off
This is what happened with my HTC
Press power button to wake up screen
Swipe to unlock
Enter Unlock code
Phone unlocks
If you locked the phone and unlocked it again within a preset time, you didn't have to enter the unlock code
With the O2x you have to enter the unlock code every time you swipe to unlock
I know you can disable the security code completely but I don't want to do this

Trouble unlocking screen

I just recently purchased a Nexus 6 project FI phone that was on sale and have been encountering a weird issue: whenever I lower the brightness down all the way and try to hit the power button to unlock, the lock screen flashes for a second and goes back to black and I'm not able to unlock it. What's weird is it still registers my touches because it vibrates as if I was swiping for my unlock pattern. The only solution to this is to keep hitting the power button quickly until the screen finally decides to turn on.
The build is LYV48h running 5.1.1 and rooted/unlocked
Has anyone run into this issue, and if so what can I do to fix it? My next plan is to factory reset it and see if that helps at all
Thanks for your help!

Nexus 6 Screen Response Issue

Whenever I disconnect/reject a call on my Nexus 6 the phone screen doesn't respond!
I can lock the phone and use the screen swipe up to unlock it, but after unlocking it screen doesn't respond.
If I hold the power button and touch on power off or power on, it works, the phone powers off/restarts!
When unlocked, the nav buttons work. But the part above the nav bar buttons doesn't work. It however, works for the above mentioned cases
It's very irritating yet funny how it isn't responding.
Is the system frozen?
No, lock and unlock works, on screen nav buttons work, restart and power off menu works!
Is the touch screen not responding?
Nope! Consider the same answer as above
Can anyone help me with this issue please?
PS: Only started facing the issue after updating to Android 7.1.1 (Yes, I did manual OTA install)

P20 Pro - Disable instant locking by power button

hi, please can someone advise a way I can disable the power key from instantly locking my phone? So it stays unlocked for at least few minutes if this is possible. Where can I view options for this?
Using the Huawei P20 Pro, model CLT-L09.
Thanks
Overwhelming response, thanks everyone.
I don't think there is a real solution for that because you would need to change the way the Lockscreen ist working.
Why would you want that anyways? The fingerprint reader is quick enough to not be bothered by the unlock time
I don't think that is possible and I don't think it makes sense for companies to implement a feature like this.
If I understand this correctly, what you want to achieve is when you press power button, you want your phone to stay unlocked for few minutes and after that get locked? If so, just set screen sleep time on 5-10 minutes.. What's the problem.
On my LG V20 (Android 8.0) there is an option for screen lock timeout. U can set how long the phone should wait to lock the phone after the screen time out. Also have option for pressing power button should lock the phone instantly or not. (check the attached pic). But to my surprise, can't seem to find that option in P20 Pro.
Personally I'm ok with power button instantly locking the phone. But for those who are quite annoyed with it, the best option is to turn-on the smart unlock and see what is best suitable way to keep your phone remaining unlock.

My phone is already set to sleep 5 minutes after being inactive. So it should stay unlocked but the power key instantly locks it no matter how long it's been unlocked.
I used to have Samsung phones and on all of them I owned you were able to disable instantly locking your phone with the power key. I guess it's not built in via Huaweii, I ended up enabling facial recognition to save time.
Thank you and everyone for your replies much appreciated.
