I am starting to be a little disappointed on the frequency of security patches for my eea mi 9... Is this substantially better on xiaomi.eu?
On the latest Xiaomi.eu we are running the September Security Patch
I think that Xiaomi is waiting for the release of Android Q to update the security patches
It's pretty odd that the mi9 SE has been sitting on MIUI 10.3 with july security patch for 2 weeks now while the mi 9 is stuck on june SP with miui 10.2. Basically the cheaper version is getting updated faster, so I guess they have some additional bugs to fix on the mi 9.
Well if they would fix idle battery drain I'd be happy with waiting...
Mi9 and I'm still on june security patch

Latest EU Q is supposed to be 9.8.22 (eu versions read as 2019.August.22, I've learnt that recently)
> Wiping is MANDATORY
> Backup using Titanium Backup only, not TWRP

Being a lazy guy I always do dirty flashes. Coming from Global Dev (9.6.27) I simply flashed Xiaomi.EU (9.8.10 Android Q) over. Since then upgraded to 9.8.15 and now 9.8.22. Runs like charm.
Of course, recommendation always is 'clean flash'. But this one can still do in case a dirty flash doesn't work, isn't it?
Cheers

Yes you can use it as a daily driver for sure, there a few minor bugs but they doesn't affect your daily experience
I switched on another ROM only because I can't use the Google passwords autofill in third applications (outside of Chrome I mean)
Thanks All who replied. I am now running on EU Q ROM appears perfectLy stable and I love the enhanced dark mode that forces some apps without dark mode to look like dark mode.
As my boot loader was locked, unlocking wiped the phone so a dirty flash was not relevant or required

Unlocking my boot loader wiped the phone but glad to hear I can dirty flash future Q builds
It's quite obvious why this is happening. The Mi 9 is going to be one of the first phones in the world with Android Q, so it's obvious they are just developing for it, and stopped patching for Android Pie.
After all, this is a flagship, they will want to showcase Android Q on it as soon as possible.
I've got August security patch with 10.2.30 on EEA
Changelog of 10.2.30
Hi, do I need to update the vendor after I set up the phone with a custom ROM, for example after 6 month?
Or will the vendor (firmware?) be updated via the ROM anyway?
Do I miss out on hardware<>software fixes, if I do not update the vendor?

Non Miui custom roms never has vendor or firmware integrated. So theoretically you will need to update them manually. Its not needed until dev says that. So if you don't have issues, let it like it is.
Hello, I am currently using Bliss rom 12.9. Perfect it is when I am using the vendor 11.0.8 version, but when I flash the latest miui vendor 12.0.2, rom can be flashed ,but in this vendor FOD is not working at all. All the updated version of custom roms based on the latest vendor,so I am not able to flash those. Please help me out. I am using the redmi k20 pro(raphael) chinese version phone.
TIA

The Bliss ROM OP gives zero information about vendor/firmware requirements. I suggest you ask this question within the Bliss ROM thread.
I have cleared dalvik, cache, system, vendor ,data and then flashed vendor 12.0.2 and then flashed evo x 4.5, havoc os 3.7 and also force decryption, but all the same, the FOD is not working. When I change the vendor to version 11.0.8 ,all is working. But the the latest version of evox, havoc os ,bliss rom are only working when vendor 12.0.2 been flashed, not working when vendor 11.0.8 been flashed. That is okay, but the problem is in vendor 12.0.2 ,the FOD is not working, but in vendor 11.0.8 ,the fod is working perfectly

If nothing else seems to be working, then try flashing the official 12.0.2 China fastboot ROM. Boot into that and see if you have working FOD. If everything is OK, then flash the ROM you want over MIUI. At this point you won't need to flash vendor and firmware files, as will you already have the correct versions installed.
I've got a Chinese phone too, and am using LOS with no problems. When the LOS requirements changed from 11.0.8 to 12.0.2 vendor and firmware, I actually decided to flash the MIUI fastboot ROM first, instead of flashing just the vendor and firmware, because I thought there was a greater chance of problems with the jump in MIUI major version.
Hey bro, thanks for helping. Can you please provide the link for official miui fastboot rom, from where i can download?
TIA

Problem is that as long as Xiaomi does not deliver tgz/fastboot rom version (it becomes then 'stable'), there is also no vendor image earlier
In the mean time it is kind of 'stable beta' but Xiaomi still pushes through OTA (and they only deliver zip/recovery firmware where vendor is not included)
You can google around to find similar discussions (and more info) about their ota, stable, stable-beta meanings, when they deliver tgz firmware and vendor img and so

OSS vendor isn't same as miui vendor. If u want take a look at github repos of roms mostly u will find vendor there or in devs own github. They need to modify it as rewuired for every device so u won't find any universal thread for oss vendor and vendor images can be found in fastboot roms from xiaomi. That xiaomifirmware updater has ads bcoz that's ow it's getting the revenue and yeah the last few version vendor hasn't been uploaded there but u can find latest firmwares and other global and fastboot roms.
Hi, I have a xiaomi mi 11t pro, I have the security patches as of December 1st 2021, Android 11 and MIUI 12.5.19, the model is a European RKDEUXM, I have read on some sites that the new version of MIUI with android 13 is available only for the SKDEUXM model, why?
Is there a roadmap for when the new (OTA) version of MUI will be released for my model as well?
I find it absurd that a 500 euro smartphone has security patches six months ago ...

There was mess with updates and there were two roads of updating:
12.5.16 - 12.5.19 (stable beta) - 13.0.8 - 13.0.9 - 13.0.10
12.5.16 - 12.5.20 - 12.5.21 - 13.0.9 - 13.0.10

People who had 12.5.19 got MIUI 13 much earlier than people with 12.5.20. It wasn't possible to update from 12.5.20 to 13.0.8 (first MIUI 13 update), but no problem with 12.5.19 stable beta 12.5.21 was released after 13.0.8 for people with 12.5.20.
