BUG?! - Second SIM enable itself! - Xiaomi Mi 9 Questions & Answers

So, im with MIUI 10 v10.2.30 and rooted with Magisk 20...
I have 2 SIM's, one is always ON in slot 1, another is OFF in slot 2 and i enable it once in a week, but recently and random the second SIM are enabling by itself and i didnt do nothing to have it enabled. Just when i see the notification bar i see the 2nd card enabled by some "random" BUG!
Anyone have the same issue? if yes, what can fix this?! maybe i will take out the 2nd card out but i need it for some bank actions and to change the number from my bank i need to call to them and etc etc...well, i go easy way wich is have the card only for that and thats why they are always almost everytime OFF.

[Q] AOSP, 4G, and Sim Card

OK, sorry if this has been addressed somewhere directly but after nearly 2 days of banging my head around the forums and google I can't seem to find a solution intended for my purpose....
Basically, I have yet to find an AOSP Rom(which i heavily prefer to Sense Roms) that recognizes my Sim Card and will, therefore, pick up 4G as the Sim is a requirement for 4G with this phone...
I can run Insert Coin and pick up 4G just fine but I do have to unlock the Sim with a Pin(which I apparently thought it was good to place on the Sim at the time) everytime I reboot my phone.
Before placing a Pin on the Sim Card I did not experience this issue. However, I see no way at all to reverse the damage. I can force lock it with the wrong Pin, enter the PUK code I got from Sprint, and then put a new Pin but the new Pin still has to be 4 characters (was hoping I could just do a blank one).
To further complicate things, the stock Rom (latest or each version back through to 1.15) doesn't even have a Sim Card lock setup section in the Security preferences of the Settings menu for the phone.....which is what HTC told the Sprint technician I should do to "unlock" my Sim Card and remove the Pin.
When I run some of the AOSP Roms, Paranoid Beta or Pacman for examples, I do see the Sim Card Lock Setup in the Security settings, however, it is grayed out and unclickable....as if there isn't a Sim or it cannot access the one that's there....probably the latter as if I remove the Sim that section of the settings disappears upon refresh.
All I want is to be able to pick up 4G with, preferably, Paranoid Beta or Gummy Rom.. Does anyone please know how I can accomplish this? Do I need an entirely new Sim Card that hasn't had a Pin put onto it? Can I flash something that will actually have a working Sim Card Lock Setup for my Sim card that was already setup through a different Rom?(Don't remember which one I used initially but I think it was Stock or Sense-based at least).
Thank you very much for any help you can provide and for your time in reading about my issue.
Regards,
Guy Who Really Wants 4G on AOSP as it is Also His Only Source of Internet at Home and He Can't Stand Blinkfeed or Uncustomizable Nav Bars.
Mods can close this if needed. Resolved the issue FINALLY!!!!!!! Whoooooo!!!!!!!!!! YAAAAAAAYYYYYY!!!!!! lol
The Answer in case anoyone else has this occur (one of these two actions did it or both together )
- Used Captain Throwback's GPE 4.4.4 Edition Rom, however, before installing I purposefully locked the Sim Card via incorrect Pin, then when it asked me for the PUK I popped the card out of contact with its reader (slid it out of the phone a few centimeters) rebooted to recovery, reinserted the Sim Card, installed GPE.
When GPE first loaded I was prompted to unlock the Sim which I then did using the PUK I had ready, assigned a new Pin, finished Rom setup, then went to Security and BAM, the option was finally selectable to Setup Sim Card Lock.....all I had to do after clicking that was remove the checkmark next to Lock Sim Card =D =D =D
Thank you for being a part of my struggle, readers, I'd like to think you were rooting for me. =)
Sidenote: as you can tell I...get around...the Roms on here so it may well have been Captain's that I first placed the Pin on the Sim Card with so perhaps that would explain it as well but can't recall for certain....

Dual SIM plus microsd (2nd SIM problem after Pie possibly)

I've been using the thin cable adaptor to run both SIM cards and a microsd all at he same time . Someone recently said they are trying to call my second sim number and he gets a phone switched off message from operator...
I thought the cable because dislodged but no matter what I try I can't get the second sim to enable itself , I even swapped the film cable adaptor with a new one..same issue ..
I recently phrases to pie and I'm loving it but I have feeling a sneaky patch blocked this hack ..which ..if true...is monkeytitstupid !
Any thoughts ?

Samsung did patch that on pie.
Only two ways that I read.
1. Go back to oreo
Or
2. Root phone (something like to replace service.jar file or using magisk, so search xda)
I think is something more serious. I'm using an adapter as well. Upon start up I get a notification that something is in simcard tray. And that notification doesn't go away and it doesn't let me use the phone at all until I removed the adapter.
If you are not seeing that message, the adapter probably isn't working.
I resorted to custom rom samsung pie where the developer removed that restriction.as a result my spay is dead, my secure folders is dead.
For me it's worth losing these function to gain access to dual sim and sdcard. I do miss secure folders though.. There is third party apps that can do the trick but not as good as secure folders.
So weigh the importance of knox related items to dual sim and sdcard. I did and decided my need for dualsim and sdcard is more than secure folders.
Btw, the developer patched shealth so shealth still works on mine. I'm using dr ketans rom.

Hi, I have the same problem. But this time I never rooted my phone as NFC payment apps detect it and I would not be able to use that function anymore.
For the moment I have just put some clear tape on the second SIM and can use my phone, access my memory and hope that a proper solution will be found soon.
For the moment I use my second(same as first one which is taped now) SIM. And use my pocket phone. 5x5x1cm for 25€.
And will wait for some new clever workaround or my ordered NFC payment ring and root.
By the way, the chip of my sim was glued on the back of the sd card. So I am sure it has nothing to do with the adapter.
After updating to PIE, i'm note able to use hybrid sim slot on my Galaxy Note 8. When i insert hybrid in Galaxy note 8 Pie, POPUP appears says sim card tray slot problem, but phone has read both behind and memory card. Pop does not get disable and stuck on the screen. Forcefully i need to remove the slot and reverse back to 1 sim and MC

Dual SIM Features

My old Oneplus 3 had a feature to set a ringtone based on the SIM card being called. This doesn't seem to be present in the MiA2 stock rom. I'd also like to be able to turn off sim 2 at weekends (sim 1 is personal, sim 2 work) but the only way I can see to do this is to go into aim settings to manually turn it off/on. Is anyone aware of a working app for the Mi A2 that can do this? Thanks.

calling and SMS functionality doesn't work since installing Android 10

Two days ago I decided to update my phone from Pie (December 2019 patch), to the latest version of Android 10 (September 2020). I factory data reset the phone, then installed the OTA updates. After about a day I realized that texting and calling does not work. If I go to"SIM card status" in the settings menu it says service state out of service. How do I fix this? Do I just need a new SIM card? Any advice?

The imei(s) are good?
@Snowby123
Have you tried removing the SIM card, wait a minute or two, then reinsert the SIM card, and restart your Note9?
I use a SIM card for the Note9 that I used in a Note8. I had problems with the Note9 listing the IMS registration status as "unregistered." Removing/reinstalling the SIM card, then restarting the device would usually fix the issue.

I learned that it is triggered by a reboot and temporarily fixed by toggling airplane mode. On first boot the problem exists, but if I tooggle airplane mode on then off, the problem is gone until next reboot.

Samsung S10 / Android 11 - dual sim problems.

Hello, I got several issues with the Android 11 on my Samsung S10, could You please try to help me with these ?
DESCRIBTION of facts thats apply to all the below issues:
SIM1 is my default/main card for all activities including data. And I want it to stay that way all the time.
SIM2 is my additional card and I want it to stay that way all the time, except when I turn off SIM1.
ISSUES:
1. When I receive mms on SIM2 I can`t see it. I only see a message to download it. When I try to download it, I see a system message: "Receiving multimedia messages will temporarily disconnect your device from the mobile nbetwork currently in use". When I agree to that, the phone tries to download the message. But with no success. If I really want to download it, I need to change that SIM2 get the prioryty to download data. Is it some bug ?
2. I need to turn of one SIM card from time to time (exactly when I sleep ). I would like to have a widget for it, but I see none in Play Store Did I miss something? What I achieved is only that I have made a shortcut with [Shortcut Maker] programm that takes mi directly to [Setting/Connections]. Is it possible to have a widget or at least a shortcut directly to [SIM card manager] menu in the Setting/Connections ??
3. Even if I manage to turn off one SIM card with the [Settings... SIM card manager], I still have some trouble. It takes too many steps to achieve what I want to do. What exactly is the problem ? My SIM1 card is the default one as I described above. SIM2 is only for emergencies and noboy except my family knows it. So I turn of SIM1 for the night. Automatically alll the actions goes to SIM2 (calls, sms, data), as one card have to stay turned on). Thats ok. But then, in the morning, I turn on SIM1. The problem is that all the actions stays in SIM2 ! To fix it I need to take the following steps:
- turn on SIM1 (actions stays in SIM2 :/ )
- turn off SIM2 (actions moves to SIM1)
- turn on SIM2 (actions stays in SIM1 and SIM2 is back online)
WTF ? Should it work that way ??
