After trying all kinds of roms from here, I decided to go back to basics and flash a global stable ROM.
In the Mi Flash software I forgot to check the "Clean All" button, and left the default(I don't know why this is the default) "Clean All and lock"
Now, I'm stuck in a recovery(can go to fastboot as well) bootloop, can't even turn it off unless the battery dies. It says at the bottom : "This MIUI version can't be installed on this device"
I'm unable to flash it again using mi flash, unable to unlock it again as it gives me a weird chinese error, that translated, it think it says : "This phone has been used by account 622****418, by looking for phone lock"
Unable to boot into EDL, tried with a deep flash cable(seems it is not supported anymore)
I didn't open it, as I still have warranty(just bought it 3 weeks ago).
USB Debugging and OEM unlock are off as it was just flashed so it has default values.
The account on it is mine, but apparently mi Unlock is not recognizing it. My Mi account has different digits and I have permission to unlock the bootloader since last year.
Is there any way that I can go around this ?
I'm thankful for any advice that you have, guys...
Your device is most likely permanently bricked - when the bootloader is locked with a global ROM on a Chinese Xiaomi phone, nothing can be done to fix it - except one thing.
Are you sure you're booting into EDL mode correctly? I think you need to short two points on the main PCB while plugging in a USB cable. Xiaomi has a proprietary implementation of EDL mode - IIRC you need special Xiaomi software and a Mi account with the appropriate permissions (you can beg Xiaomi for permission on the Mi forums, or buy a working account from someone online). In EDL mode, you can re-flash the China ROM and recover the device.
Most likely, that's what I'll have to do, but I wanted to consume every chance and tutorial online before I remove the Back glass...SO it's Service Center or Test Point with auth accounts, which it's hard to get. I rather pay. Just wanted to make sure that it's bricked from my perspective, like I can't do anything to fix it from my end. Thanks
There is nothing you can do, the bootloader is now locked and you are on a rom that's not matching.
I used the Russian tech reported in one of the other threads about bricked k20 pro, costed me $20 and I needed to open up the phone, and do test point edl which were all easy and well worth it to save the $650 AUD I paid for the phone.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/k20-pro/help/destroyed-error-fastboot-locked-t3946012/page6
just add him on whatsapp and be nice to the tech and he will help you. I saw other posts if you ask him like an ass then he will ignore you.
I definitely don't want to open the phone. If it comes to that, I rather pay someone to do everything with proper tools and software.
You know, try to get in touch with xiaomi support. Explain The case and maybe they unlock it for you from there.

Did you find any solution without edl method? Cause currently I'm facing the same problem.
The only solution here is to go into EDL Mode, if you dont have an authorized mi account, I recommend s-unlock.com they have an automated service and their own tool to flash your phone, go check them out. If you have doubt opening the phone, it isnt hard. Just use playing card first and dont remove it, then find an old credit card to continue further gently.

After removing the back of my phone and fixing it with the help of an awesome dude from Japan found on whatsapp...I tried to unlock my bootloader again, and realised that the account I had in my phone was not the one that I was entering on miUnlock. I couldn't see that because the error message at 99% was in trad Chinese.
Maybe it would've worked if I knew that. If you go into Fastboot and try to unlock it, what message do you get?
Hi everyone, some weeks ago I converted my A2 in 6X because I wanted to test MIUI. Yesterday, dealing with an update my phone get into a bootloop. Well, I used MiFlash to fix it but I selected "flash and lock" (yes, I know, I'm stupid).
The main thing is that I'm in a Chinese ROM with lock bootloader and when I try to unlock it I get error 86023.
I dont know what to do. I've thought about test point to flash Xiaomi.eu but I'm not sure bcause the bootloader is locked.
Someone with a posibble solution? Thanks
Welcome to the Club
Same thing happened to me.
You can now choose between China Developer or Stable.
I tried many progs and tutorials to unlock the bootloader but no way.
If you need GooglePlayStore, CalenderSync and ContactsSync:
https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=818070582850489460
I'm now on stable V10.3.6.0.PDCCNXM and all is working quite well.

It didn't happened to me for myself, but I just asked this question to get better knowledge about bootloader stuffs:
As I understood the current problem is this:
You need to unlock your bootloader again, there is just (as much as I know) 2 ways to approach, which both of them will not help you:
1. Unlocking as a A2 : but your device is not a A2 anymore, so the device will not be unlocked by this method.
2. Unlocking as a 6x : but this one won't be successful either since the dedicated unlocking program asks for a real 6X device with a registered IMEI number by factory, which in your case is NOT.
So, you will be left just with the options that need no Unlocked Bootloader, as mentioned above, like Chinese Stable versions. ( That in my opinion it does NOT sound awful. )
(BTW, every day comes with new procedures, maybe you can find a new method to unlocked the bootloader again, there was times that many expertise told, after stucking in ARB4 trap, you just need to find a suitable Trash for your device!, but now we all know that there is plenty new ways to deal with it).

Authorized Customer Services, or a friend who works there
It is very possible that they can restore your phone (and as well your bootloader) as what it was in factory.

Yes, exactly.
Hello my friends, i managed to unlock the bootloader of my converted A2/6X.
I tried several times to switch from stable china to developer china but from 9.8.15 to 9.9.3 no one worked.
After installing one of the developer roms, the phone only shows the boot screen for 2 seconds and turns off, with charger it boots endlessly or shows the green battery symbol after some minutes.
One thing that works, is using a rubber band to fix "Vol+" and connect phone via usb or charger, mostly after 5-10 minutes it will enter the "Miui-Recovery", then you can start "Mi-Assistent" in the "Miui-Recovery" and flash back the stable china, so luckily no need of EDL.
After flashing the last 9.9.3 rom and the phone was all screwed up, again. I tried the original "miflash_unlock-en-2.2.624.14" and it worked.
I have done this "thousand" times before with all available unlock tools I found but never succeeded before.
Download: miflash_unlock-en-2.2.624.14
https://xiaomifirmware.com/downloads/download-mi-unlock-2-2-624-14-windows/
https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=889764386195916630
Now I tried to boot into recovery “fastboot boot twrp_wayne.img” but it didn't work, because the phone reboots or turns off after 2 seconds.
So I flashed the china stable via fastboot (worked), let it boot up, no setup, reboot to enter fastboot and flashed successful the orangefox-twrp.
Hope somebody can also unlock his bootloader or maybe it was just luck.

Amazing Dude. [emoji108][emoji108][emoji108][emoji108][emoji108] Congratulations.
Hi guys, I will tell you my case.
Buy the Mi 9 6GB 128 GB cell phone from a Chinese store (Alie ...)
The phone is a Chinese version, the seller sent me the phone with the GLOBAL ROM, so it came with the bootloader unlocked.
Then I decided to stupidly block it.
Previously I had a mi note 3, Chinese version with global rom, I never read about the new policies of xiaomi, I read them already when I could not start my MI 9 haha, it is very sad.
The only solution I have given is to make a flash in EDL mode
The question here is that an authorized edl account is required, which I have searched for trust services (s-unlock, unbrick.ru, martview) and none has the service available at the moment, I have contacted 5 people via whatsapp of the which 2 tell me that if they can do the service and the other 3 that at the moment the service is not available like this, I realize that maybe it is a scam.
Please help me if anyone knows of any edl service

how did you get this sorted mate?
yes this problem need EDL mode with AUTHORIZED Account i tried like 7days keep trying flash in EDL mode it's always said "You are not Authorized" something like this
then i send to shop that can send to china for fix this problem it's no cost to flash back to china rom with locked bootloader but i paid for they fix i removed back cover by myself
xiaomi china won't charge you for reinstall rom if it's on warranty
so you have to get Authorized account way only for fix this problem
my device is Mi9 Lavender Pink 8/128
Hi All,
I received an update notification yesterday on my China Market device with Global ROM and I immediately downloaded the update to MIUI13. I had 60% battery when the download finished and after downloading it did an app optimization. After that, I hit the reboot button with 58% battery. The device turned off and since then the device is literally not showing any sign of life. it doesn't charge or show up in the ADB devices list. My MBP doesn't recognize USB in the devices list. What is the best option I have? From threads, it doesn't sound like a brick or EDL mode to me but should I still contact the EDL guy?
Just an update. I was using Macbook to test if the device is alive. MacBook Pro doesn't show any updates when you connect a new device. I plugged USB into a Windows machine installed on my Bootcamp, Windows recognized the device as Qualcomm 9008. Which is effectively in EDL mode. I have no idea how the device got into that mode but my assumption is that I had TWRP installed with BL open and when going from Android 11 to Android 12 via MIUI13, something called anti-rollback protection which was implemented by Xiaomi put the phone into EDL mode. Luckily, I am in the UK and got in touch with Xiaomi after sales, they agreed to repair it because the issue was caused by a software update.
Lesson Learned: Never update your phone via OTA to a newer android version without taking a proper backup. A really bad experience with Xiaomi. it cost me one day to try to fix and will be costing me some time to install everything back after the repair. I am seriously thinking to buy an iPhone now.

I dont think its about anti-rollback function
That function only affect when u try to flash from higher miui version back to lower version. It will not allow u to do that
In your case, it 's all about xiaomi software problem :| and it is unacceptable problem

Well, finally I got in touch with the EDL guy and he fixed it smoothly. I literally had to go through a lot of documents and websites to understand the problem but he fixed it in 10 minutes. I think he is using some sort of cracked miFlashTool where he interferes with the communication between the phone and Xiaomi servers and bypasses authorization issues. I think many people are having problems at that point when following the EDL operation explained on the internet. Anyways, fixed it fairly easily and cheaply.

By Global eu rom you mean EEA or Xiaomi.eu ROM?
p.s. I know at least one Mi 11 ultra and one Mi 11 faced the same issue

If you can get to fastboot, you can flash the original stock ROM. Plenty of instructions here and on the Xiaomi EU forums. You only need edl if you cannot get to fastboot.

You cannot flash anything in fastboot if bootloader is locked
In that case, you will need an edl flash to recover. But be careful that he doesn't leave it with an edl account permission or you won't be able to unlock without that edl account. Although I thought you could flash the original stock firmware that it came with back on with it locked.
Hi, i have same problem after try to flash Miui 13. But The MIflash tool shows error:sw path is not valid, have not found solution for this error message. How can I Get in contact with the EDl Guy.. I have a Mi 11 Pro

It´s so frustrating that the update caused this. It´s now the first time for me to solve this problem. But I have so many other issues that I don´t have the time for this. I´ve read some threads where some persons have written about people who can unbrick it online. This would be right now my first choice. Could somebody help me where I can contact someone for help please.

Hello same here - I guess flashed wrong version from EEA instead of EU of Android 11 - all went good but then I allowed OTA updates and finally update to MUI13 I had a brick.
Now I am in contact with one EDL guy but not certain he is legit. Can you send me PM for your contact?
I'm planning on purchasing this phone but things like this one makes me worried. Is there a risk to update the eu stable firmwares from fastboot with bootloader unlocked?
If you know how to do it, no risk.
Hello All,
I purchased a chinese Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra, phone was unlocked and Global ROM was installed by the seller.
I was installing a new ROM, something wrong happened and I forgot to choose "Clean all" instead of default "Clean all and lock" option in MiFlash.
Now my phone has no ROM and it is locked and I cannot go to MIUI and unlock OEM. fastboot oem device-info gives me "FAILED (remote: Token Verify Failed, Reboot the device)".
I've already tried to use MiTools to unlock, when I enter my Mi account it says "Xiaomi procedure failed: [getServiceToken] Missing serviceToken cookie.
I've contacted the seller and he told me he can't help. I read in another thread about Telegram accounts where I could pay an receive something that could fix this problem, but Telegram search did not bring any result related to "miauth".
Is there any chance to revive my phone or have I lost it =^(( ?
Thanks in advance.
Google for xiaomi pro tool and xiaomi king tool if you want to do it yourself. Otherwise search in telegram for unbrick, not sure that I can give direct links to commercial offers.

In other words you've got your device bricked. In that case try using modified mi tools to flash or use edl method to be able to use it again. I don't really know whether this is helpful.

I know. But left me no choice. Might cost me more if I went to a repair shop.
I'm literally in the same boat.. Phone seems to like when I use the Miflash tool, other menu, check all for error checking.
IT says its flashing the oem original Chinese rom. The only problem is that I started and ended exactly like you did only a few days ago.
Did you ever get yours fixed? I've emailed Giztop whom I bought it from, and Xiaomi US and Global/Asia. No fix response yet.
The problem is that even when I did have it booted to the EU rom it said this device is locked. It was not linked to my account, and my phone number was not linked to the phone according to the unlock info. Logged into my Xiaomi account on the website and realized no device was linked. ALl I had done when I first set it up was to log into Xiaomi in MIUI settings.
I also had one guy say he could try to fix it, however his English was pretty hit or miss. Not his fault, but the rom he downloaded had links to gsmmafia.com which had links for everything. latest supported Miflash, Proper Qualcom drivers that support EDL mode, MI account files, FRP files, you name it. They support multiple devices.
I'm going to say now that I have no hopes raised for Xiaomi or Giztop as they've been flaky at best and that they seem to regurgitate the same info a lot.
Since my account info did not match, I suspect that Giztop accidentally linked my phone to one of their accounts. I've said as much to Xiaomi, showed my proof of purchase/receipt and that I've owned it since new besides the unlocking. I haven't heard from them in a few days though.
This happens when the seller does the unlocking , but forgot to unbind/remove device from the account. In this case the 'Find phone' option got activated as well which is causing this problem. The only way is for the seller to deactivate find phone , and unlink the device.
If your bootloader is still in unlocked state , just download and flash any AOSP rom like Pixel Experience or Evolution X .
mine was also bricked finally i saw a post of xda and contacted some person on telegram and he flashed my device in edl mode and 100% fixed it.
