I installed an IOs theme in the official app and when it returned to the lock screen it requests a 4 digit pin. I've scratched the screen everywhere but the screen for entering my password no longer appears, only this 4 digits. Does anyone have any ideas on how to make the original screen of my device password appear?
Damn Putin ...

The theme is russian....
I had to wipe the device. I found it very suspicious and did not want to risk more.
I'm trying to post the theme photo but I'm not getting it but his name is iOS 11 Dark v1.0 from a hijacker named hecatenet. There are a lot of comments talking about this lock issue, too bad I haven't seen it before. My stupidity.

If you have USB debug enabled in developer settings you can use ADB to clear data of theme app throught CMD and restore default theme.
Obviously you can't activate debug now if your phone is locked... IDK if you enabled it previously...

Coincidentally yesterday I completely backed up my son's photos to the notebook. I also had USB Debug enabled in the developer configs but I disabled it because I thought I wouldn't need IoI.

Hi there,
I was just wondering if it was possible to change when the lockscreen password screen comes up? I want the password protection to show ONLY when my phone turns on, and not when i'm simply awakening my phone. I find it quite annoying.
Anybody know if this is possible through a hack or something? I'm using an unlocked Hero running VillainROM 10.
Thanks in advance,
Alex

Search the market for what exactly? :S I've searched a bit... found loads of alternate lockscreens. But I haven't found an app that will disable the native lockscreen password, but keep it for when the phone boots up.
there is one, sorry i cant rememeber the name, that puts it on a timer. Just search lock and go through them...

okay my bad I was wrong, it isnt working. what settings did you use? Mine was working, but it also stopped the password protection at the startup of the phone too - which isnt good !
i cant remember, i stopped using it now, because i dont use a password at all, just threaten people who pick up my phone.
I don't suppose anyone else has looked into this? I'm also in the same boat, I really just want something to protect startup.
Just upgraded to Android 4.3 (stock HTC ROM) and there must be a bug because I can no longer disable the lock screen. I'm not talking about the pin/pattern lock screen but the swipe up to unlock lock screen (with the icons in the bottom). If I go to Settings > Security and chose to disable the lock screen it doesn't make any difference.
Can someone else please confirm that this is a bug before I wipe my phone?
Doesn't look like a bug, looks like HTC is being responsible and not allowing a phone to not have any security on it. Makes sense IMO

Exactly! And when you bundle your favourite apps in groups on the dock you can just swipe up that folder to get access to it. Quite nifty I would say

My guess is that they removed a lot of things (in 5.5) because most people didn't even use them or know about them. I don't see why you wouldn't want a lock screen though xD

Well, if there is an option for something that doesn't do anything I consider it a bug. Swipe-to-unlock doesn't add a lot of security imho.

The thing is that the options is there but doesn't do anything. I have my phone 95% of the time on my desk/table next to me and I just find it unnecessary to unlock with a button and then swipe. Whenever I leave home I have it in a tight case so there is no risk on me touching buttons by misstake.

Oh, I see what you meant above now.. But the point is, for a lot of folks the lock screen is pointless. It's just an uneccesary extra step to get to what you want on your phone. Especially now that most phones have pocket detection so there's no worries of pocket dialing anymore. I personally find it annoying and not at all needed. Just one less thing to waste my time and battery.
I guess i can see the usefulness of it though in some situations, I.E. Nosy girlfriend/boyfriend mainly. Lol

I understand what you're saying, and I don't use any sort of security on my phone, but I'd still prefer to have the slide to unlock as opposed to nothing at all. I suppose it's each to their own but IMO HTC have decided to take the option out to possibly cover themselves from unhappy customers - I dunno...
HTC_001 just got the update and now being forced to have a lock screen when it doesn't add any security seems a waste of time, everyone knows how to unlock a phone so it's not going to stop anyone getting in, the choice should be left up to the end user, default it to on and that should cover them enough. Next they'll force everyone to have a pin to unlock their phone.
No Lock app works fine and the fact 1-5mill people have downloaded it shows that they have made a mistake here.
No lock, no thanks
Works awful. Just used it for about 5 minutes and it made my phone behave erratically. Seeing as it hasn't been updated for years, it's no surprise. Good luck with it...couldn't even launch apps from the notifications screen without it loading the home screen, locking it and then turning the screen off. Disabled it and then removed it and all is right again on my phone.
Why not accept peoples wish
No lock works fine - and about the security issues people have here:
I never lock my phone with a pattern, pin, code or something.
If you keep sensitive data on it - your fault. You know that it is public if it is on your phone (as we learned from the NSA).
If you don't, leaving your phone unlocked gives you at least the chance that if you loose it and an honest person finds it, he or she will be able to return it to you by contacting "Mum" or "Sweety" from the Contacts. An unhonest person would simply factory-reset it. Right?

Been working perfect on my phone (and others members here) for months. There's no need to update an app often when it does such a simple task. Does exactly what it says. Couldn't ask for anything more from it.

You obviously don't program. And it's great that it works for you, however it is apparent from the thread and the comments in the play store that the app has issues. The app certainly doesn't work for me on multiple devices. So I could certainly ask for more, seeing that it simply doesn't work reliably at all in my testing. But since it looks to be abandoned it's not something I expect. That's not a big deal for me at all because it's an app I simply tried but not one I plan on using.

Our device can have upto 5 fingerprints. Does anyone know if there is some app that can lock the apps only with the fingerprint I specify.
Like for eg. I have 5 fingerprints of two different persons and I don't want the other person to unlock a specific app through his/her fingerprint.
Instead I specify that say that so and so app will be unlocked through Finger 1.
Is this even possible??

There's a feature called app locker in security and fingerprint and that allows to set up different apps to be opened only with fingerprint or other secured methods like pin password or pattern

I dont think any such feature exist in Android. I had this feature in my jail broken iPhone where we can assign different actions for all registered fingerprints. I am also looking forward to get this feature in Android .

I see no developer has replied on this thread yet. The feature does not exist but if iPhone can have it then Android can too.
Hope to see a skilled developer here who can make this possible.
Thank you

It just means your phone is currently rotation locked to 'Portrait' try changing it to auto rotate and the icon should be gone

The last I read, it's not supported on the N8 yet, even with the Samsung Developer License Key.
Tried installing and I get the 'not supported' message.
Thanks.

I already had the developers license so just install from here and used the license and it worked. I saw somewhere, can't remember that it had been updated to the Note 8, tried a week a go and didn't work but it's fine now.

so I have setup some user profiles for my family, only to findout that when the tablet is initaiily turned on, my password as the main user is needed, to get into the tablet and the others can then log into the or repsctive user profiles. surely there should be a way to have each user log in, using their own password and user profiles but this does not appear to be the case any suggestions?

No idea, Samsung is notorious when it comes to maintaining features barely used.
In android 13 it seems a tiny user profile avatar icon appeared on lock screen. Have you tried pressing that and change to new profile? Maybe it let's you change there so you don't have to unlock yours first.

Hi yes after the tablet is unlocked for the first time, you can then log into the user profile. However, when the tablet is initialy turned on, it requires the main user log in code, before others can access their own user profiles.

Nah, this feels like negligence.
When One UI 5 was being tested for Phones, the first two beta's had user profiles as well. They removed it saying they had issues with it, and not giving us any detailed info.
The Tabs had it before One UI 5 obviously. It just feels like a feature with low priority on their end, and there are loads of hints. I.e., you can either have two users and one having a secure folder, or three users with out any having secure folder. Don't get me started if you actually need a user with work profile and secure folder too.
It's a poorly implemented feature. All other OS that have multi user support have the ability to bloody allow the user to log in without their sugauser.
