Hi, today i recived the update for Android 10 (MIUI 11), my question is if i update my mi 9 will i loose magisk root and twrp? Thanks for the answer.
You will have to reflash TWRP and then magisk.
Did't know that
But does my bootloader locks again? Is the magisk and
old twrp compatibile with android 10?

By flashing OTA update your bootloader won't be locked. I don't know what is your old TWRP  Just flash this one: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=4349826312261609258 and magisk 20.1.
Also have this issue, just flashed to 11.0.2.0 Global. Had TWRP before (just restored the V10 backup actually), now TWRP is both gone and any attempt to flash it leads nowhere as the device just boots into normal system regardless. Device is bootloader unlocked still.
Hello, I try
Code:
fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
fastboot boot twrp.img
But I'm still lock on Mi Recovery 3.0.
Here my Oem status :
Code:
(bootloader) Verity mode: true
(bootloader) Device unlocked: true
(bootloader) Device critical unlocked: true
(bootloader) Charger screen enabled: false
OKAY [ 0.006s]
finished. total time: 0.006s
After receive the OTA update to MIUI 11, I confirm that you will have to reflash the latest TWRP version through Tool All in One (Mauronofrio), which will be able to access your data partition without reformat.
Later just flash latest Magisk available through TWRP recovery and you are done.
After flashing TWRP, I found I had to reboot manually into recovery. TWRP is sticking around now, and nandroid backup worked fine for me. Latest mauronofrio twrp for me.

Did you use the specific twrp recovery for the 3T? This one: https://dl.twrp.me/oneplus3t/
And did you follow a guide. This one for instance: https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/...wrp-root-nandroid-efs-backup-and-more.475142/

Hi I just have bought my new HTC desire 10 pro and I wanted to root it using ADB and fastboot to flash TWRP recovery and then install SuperSU like i did with older phones. With this one when I try to flash TWRP with fastboot tool it says to me:
writing 'recovery'...
FAILED (remote: download for partition 'recovery' is not allowed)
Now... I have tried OEM unlocking enabled or not and i can see it working in bootloader (**LOCKED** or **UNLOCKED**)
I read somewhere that HTC has the download mode for flashing, but when is in that mode nor adb nor fastboot can detect the device plugged in.
This has something to do with S-ON and S-OFF? I understood that is a kind of NAND memory protection.
If you have a simpler way with some exploit or working apk is also accepted because I only want root and dont care of flashing custom ROMs for now.
Thanks,
Joe

S-On or S-Off doesnt matter for what you need to do.
First go to HTCDev website and unlock your bootloader, the phone model isn't shown but select "other supported models".
Then install device drivers and ADB fastboot
Dowload TWRP 3.1 for your variant from here and flash it by fastboot
twrp-3.1.1-0-a56dj_pro_uhl.img
twrp-3.1.1-0-a56dj_pro_dugl.img (dual sim)
Download SuperSU and flash it using TWRP.
I think your problem is either bootloader not unlocked or drivers missing, anyway good luck ! :good:
Credit to @sabpprook for the TWRP variants
You need to boot the phone to download mode and then flash the twrp...adb reboot download should do it, then the usual fastboot command to flash twrp..Bootloader needs to be unlocked via htcdev first

The provided links for twrp are not working. Can you please provide the link for twrp for HTC desire 10 pro
I did not build those twrp files, I just found them on another post by @sabpprook
The links are now expired, you'll have to ask @sabpprook to post them again please.
But I found another twrp file for the HTC Desire 10 Pro dual sim version by @jemmini

Hi all,
I'm trying to understand what did I do wrong.
I bought my device with an unlocked bootloader miui V8 (global rom).
I tried to flash TWRP recovey and MIUI PRO rom. I follow the steps that are mentioned here
and got soft brick - the device got stuck on the mi logo (with the unlock sign), even when I wait in patience the device just turned off.
- At the beginning I flashed the TWRP recovery by xuefer, boot into it and flashed the dm-verity disabler (as mentioned in the guide) and got error 1.
I reboot the device and it didn't boot.
- I boot to the recovery again and wipe the data - didn't boot.
Boot to recovery again and wipe to factory
-I flashed the MIUI PRO rom and the device still didn't boot.
I tired to flash the TWRP recovery by iscle - now the dm-verity disabler succeed but the device still didn't boot.
made the wiping steps as above again - and the device still got stuck at the mi logo.
At any step I manged to boot into the TWRP recovery and fastboot mode.
My lest option was to go back to the global stock rom using MiFlash
Now I'm on Global MIUI 9 with locked bootloadr
What did I do wrong?
I want to unlock the bootloader and to get back my control on my device.
Please advice
Thanks
Download the latest TWRP on this forum. Flash it. After, go to twrp, wipe data, cache, flash MIUI PRO rom, and after flash also flash the latest SuperSU zip. Then try again and see if it's gonna boot up.
how sure were you that the device had an unlocked bootloader when you purchased it? if it was brand new, certainly its bootloader is locked.
Do you have an open padlock when your phone is booting ?
Remember to boot to twrp just after flashing and before booting to the rom.
Thank you all for your answers!

This is exectly what I've done. and I't didn't worked.
Can you please point me to exact TWRP that you meant?
What about the dm-verity disabler ? it isn't necessary?

I've checked the bootloader status in the Dev menu and with fastboot (fastboot oem device-info).
In addtion to all I had the open padlock sign when the turned on the device.

I had the open padlock sign.
Now unfortunately I flashed with MiFlash the global rom and my bootloader is locked.
I want to know the mistake I've done - so I don't fail with it again after I'll get the approval to open my bootloader.
Thanks
no mistake, they are three batches files in the rom zip. One of them is relocking the bootloader.
Flash_all with without erase data
Flash_all with wipe data
Flash_all with relock bootloader
I don't know miflash interface but you unfortunately choose the third choice. You need now to unlock your bootloader again (maybe by creating a new xiaomi account, not sure of this).

I'm sorry if you miss understood me, but I meant to the mistake I've made with the TWERP and rom flashing.
I can't figured out what I've did wrong.
Sorry if was not clear but the problem could be here :
Now unfortunately I flashed with MiFlash the global rom and my bootloader is locked.
II think you choose in Mi Flash tool an option to flash with re-lock the bootloader (don"t know how it's designed in the app because I flashed my phone manually, using one of the 3 batch files).
Hope it will help you.

Thank you for your answer.
I will open my bootloader,
I'm just trying to understand which TWRP version to flash for the miui pro rom (or any other)
And what is the process (or "the correct steps") to :
* Flash the TWRP recovery
* And to flash any other different rom from the miui stock.
Thanks
I took the TWRP from this forum, this is my md5 if you want to check yours :
f52ff052971b67df097d4cfa8a2ec162 twrp-3.2.0-0-oxygen.img
And this is my howto :

and the command to flash was (after unzip the file) :

Hi! As others have already told you,
What I would do is to completely format the phone with Mi Flash (download the latest global stable fastboot version from http://en.miui.com/a-234.html), then flash it to the phone using the Flash All option, then flash my recovery or the one from xuefer (the one you prefer, both work), if you are flashing miui pro I think there is no need to flash the dm-verity file, so just wipe system + data + cache and flash miuipro.zip
Thank you all for your replais !
I will try and update right after I'll get the bootloader unlock approval.
Meanwhile you all have a great day !
Hi!
I am trying to root my Mi A2 without unlocking the bootloader. I have tried:
C:\Users\Dell\Desktop\root>fastboot boot TWRP.img
downloading 'TWRP.img'...
OKAY [ 1.025s]
booting...
FAILED (remote: Flashing is not allowed in Lock State)
finished. total time: 1.183s
I wasn't trying to flash, I was going to boot from the TWRP image. Theoretically I could boot to TWRP temporarily and then flash magisk or something.
I have considered using another thread's guide to unlocking the bootloader without the data wipe. The only thing is, I don't want a wipe operation still pending in recovery so if I ever decided to boot to recovery it would delete my data. I don't know if when I hold the volume button it will go back to fastboot mode and I know that I can temporarily boot to TWRP and flash, but still.
Help???

You cannot flash unsigned software without unlocking LE bootloader.
oem unlock, retry. I can fastboot boot official twrp, but it bootloops afterwards.
Hello guys!
I am having issues with the battery (I think it's faulty) and I just wanted to reflash the EU MIUI Stable ROM to see if it's a software problem.
Currently with unlocked bootloader (no root) EU MIUI 13 STABLE and Android 12.
What I did:
didn't remember if I had TWRP installed and flashed EU MIUI 13 STABLE via Fastboot
MIUI 13 - MIUI 13 STABLE RELEASE
Status: RELEASED RULES WHEN POSTING 1. If a ROM is not published DONT ASK ABOUT ITS ETA 2. If a ROM is not published DONT ASK why! 3. If a ROM is available, download it and use it 4. If a ROM has bugs, post the bug to the bug section if the BUG is not already listed 5. If you use any form of...
xiaomi.eu
linux_fastboot_update_rom.sh was successful
but now stuck in MIUI Recovery mode after every boot
I guess I had TWRP installed and this is why it got issues?
So I decided to fix it by installing TWRP first, and then flash ROM via TWRP:
found official TWRP for Mi 11 here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/recovery-11-official-teamwin-recovery-project.4374109/
installed this via fastboot: fastboot boot twrp-3.6.2_11-0-venus.img
did "Advanced > Flash Current TWRP"
stuck in TWRP Recovery mode boot
did TWRP Wipe data (since required by installing the ROM)
stuck in Fastboot mode
it might have removed by mistake /system or /persist, I just did the default Wipe Data of TWRP
Device is correctly recognized with fastboot devices but I get this error when trying to boot with TWRP:
Code:
$ fastboot boot twrp-3.6.2_11-0-venus.img
Sending 'boot.img' (196608 KB) OKAY [ 4.999s]
Booting FAILED (remote: 'Failed to load/authenticate boot image: Load Error')
fastboot: error: Command failed
Do you guys have any tip to recover the device? Any help very much appreciated
