Haven't tried it myself, but
https://www.reddit.com/r/Xiaomi/comments/e76ouu/if_you_debloated_miui_11_and_casting_does_not_work/
Will try in a few minutes anyway as I have the same issue.

The package name for casting is uniplay service ( com.milink.service)
Reinstalling it from adb will hopefully fix casting issues !! ?

SSh tunnel for lollipop fix or alternative?

Noticed i cannot get ssh tunnel to work for global or specific app proxys on any lollipop devices wondering if there was an ideal app you guys would recommend for nexus 6 that would accomplish this same thing?
Used to work great on my previous devices from last i recall prior to moving to a lollipop device
Looking to specifically proxy some apps via ssh tunnel and rest go through normal unencrypted session via carrier ip
Looked into proxydroid and connectbot but haven't seem to get them to work together must be missing something
seems this is a known issue with iptables and ssh proxying in lollipop on some other similiar apps
https://code.google.com/p/sshtunnel/issues/detail?id=193
Would gladly pay for an add free app that does this on lollipop for any devs out there looking for an app idea or can point me to one i missed which offers this
Thanks in advance
Update:
seen this after more searching looks handy gonna give it a ry but it would be nice to have an all in one app for this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2505710
https://code.google.com/p/sshtunnel/issues/detail?id=193#c12
I have posted a solution and modded apk for now, until the problem will be resolved. Check it out.
Try mine, uses autossh with openssh:
https://github.com/lbdroid/Android_SSH
https://github.com/lbdroid/Android-Binaries/blob/master/Android_SSH.apk
A few points;
1) requires root (at the moment, still in dev...)
2) still in dev (could be instabilities...)
3) no ads, no tracking... seriously.. no nonsense.

IT WORKS!!!
thank you very much.
Modded apk not working on Nexus 6 running Android 5.1.1
Using Connect not +ProxyDroid
Hopefully next release of sshtunnel will solve current issues
it´s the first time im using this tool... im happy that i found your solution/fix for lolipop.. it works perfect on any website/host in the web.. but i got still a problem..
the routing seems to route everything through the tunnel.. except things that are adressing other services on the same host as the ssh server host..
for example: if there is a webserver or mailaserver on the same host as the ssh server.. the traffic to those mail or webserver are not going through the tunnel..
is this a common problem with ssh-tunnel app?
using ProxyDroid on-top, fixes this.. with ProxyDroid also the mailserver (etc..) traffic is going through the tunnel.. but i would prefer to use only one tool.. not two tools..
any suggestions?
it's just a binary compatibility problem you can extract iptables and redsocks binary from patched version or from anywhere else and copy them to your data folder it will solve the problem

Yes you are right.
-1 copy/overwrite iptables, redsocks from proxydroid to:
data/data/org.sshtunnel folder.
-2 chmod these two files for the owner/root!

Dex on PC for Note 9?

Since the needed files are available now the Note 10(+) firmware is out I wonder if the feature will work for us. So far my Note 9 shows the ability after adding the needed apk files from the Note 10+ firmware. However the app needed on my windows laptop is nowhere to be found (yet).
Does anyone have the DeX for Windows app?
Edit:
I have attached the files i picked from Note10+ firmware, I've placed them in system/priv-app on my rooted SM-N960F. So far for me there`s no way of knowing this will work untill i get mu hands on the DeX on PC app.

According to the Samsung website you need Pie, rooted in my case to copy the files to system/priv-app. But without the app needed for PC there's no way of knowing it will work.
Seems like an app DeX for PC for installation on the phone has been released. https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/samsung-electronics-co-ltd/dex-for-pc/dex-for-pc-1-0-00-91-release/dex-for-pc-1-0-00-91-android-apk-download/
I tried to install it on Galaxy S10+ but after an attempt to install it shows an installation progress bar and then shows message 'App not installed'. Well, always worth to try

Link to download the Dex PC App
https://www.samsung.com/us/explore/dex/
I don't know if this is coincidental, but this only appeared on this page after i installed the Apps on my phone and plugged my phone into the PC
I cannot make it work, My phone says Install DEX on PC, and PC says to connect my phone using USB Cable.
So i can only assume it missing some other files?

Can confirm the link only appears when your device is plugged into the PC and it has Dex app on the phone (Strange one)
Anyway here is a hard link to the install file:
https://www.samsung.com/global/download/SamsungDeXWin
Grabbed it already.
Really wanted for this feature to arrive.
I kinda hyped about dex system since S8. Buy sadly, samsung haven't made a lapdock style which I needed. Having my phone able to connect to my underpowered windows tablet is very nice.
Well so far i`ve found the earlier mentioned apk files inside system/priv-app on the Note10+ firmware and noticed the following entries inside system/etc/floating_feature.xml
<SEC_FLOATING_FEATURE_COMMON_SUPPORT_DEX_MULTI_RATIO>TRUE</SEC_FLOATING_FEATURE_COMMON_SUPPORT_DEX_MULTI_RATIO> <SEC_FLOATING_FEATURE_COMMON_SUPPORT_DEX_ON_PC>TRUE</SEC_FLOATING_FEATURE_COMMON_SUPPORT_DEX_ON_PC>
Doesn`t seem to work but ìll keep looking and trying to figure this out.
Thank you for everyone in support!!
It's fun seeing samsung gives us a new "toy" to play with xD
I'll follow this, I'm interested in having dex working, not having to reach out my phone will be a win

Help with rooting custom device (not phone)

Hello guyz!
I have a device that I am testing, which is heavily customized. I managed to unlock the bootloader, find the boot.img and patch it with the magisk manager on an other device, and finally flash it with fastboot. The sun binaries was written in the system but there was no magisk manager so whenever I tried to execute su in adb I got permission denied as a response.
So, I found the system.img unpacked it and tried to install the app files in several destinations(/system/priv-app, /system/app, /data/app). Than way I managed to find the app in the system and now when I give su in the adb it waits and in the system I see magisk manager opening and closing immediately.
I know that I am losing something, cause I do not have deep knowledge of the Android internals, but I did my best until now, and I didn't find how to fix the issue until now. Also , for some reason I cannot install more apps on the system (other than the preinstalled and magisk)
I appreciate the help thanks guys

Lol no man not an iPhone user! It is not a phone nor a tablet! It runs Android 9 and it has a vertical resolution !
Update: I don't know if it can be considered stock rom! The manufacturer makes it but it is something like stock with some costomization and restrictions!

Uninstall and try the older apk and see if that works.
Maybe it needs the lib file.

If this apk don't work either then only way is to do a hard reset of the phone after you have backup all your data.
Thanks...
It's not working...
Hard reset seems to be the only solution then.
For now I'll wait
I installed Peel and it feels ok
Thanks for your help
I'll upload the apk from my P30-Pro later.

Question How to stop MIUI from trying to force me to attach files using Xiaomi File Manager?

Hello. Whenever I try to upload a file onto an app that doesn't use its own file browser (Gmail, Chrome) it opens the included File Manager app without giving an option to browse for files using a different app. I don't like to agree to all of Xiaomi's app-specific privacy policies, so I'd like to be able to use for example Total Commander.
Is that possible to configure somehow (and not by use "share file" from Total Commander which isn't exactly the same)?
Try debloating the MIUI file manager? and see if that fixes it?

I can confirm that debloating MIUI file manager does not solve this issue. If we remove MIUI file manager then we simply cannot attach any files in Gmail. I haven't found a fix to this issue yet

That's strange. Maybe I don't remember how is the attachment process managed on other phones. Is it always possible only through a built-in file manager? What's interesting is that an application such as Google Drive has its own file browser so it doesn't call File Manager when uploading a file, but on Gmail and Chrome it does.
