I was on miui 9 and I wiped everything and made data partition EXT4. My intention was to install nitrogen OS , so I installed firmware (OB22) and installed the ROM and gapps. But when i restarted i was boot loop on splash screen. Phone boots up and within 2 seconds reboots again in a loop. I have access to TWRP and bootloader. Please help me to restore my 3T. Your help is much much appreciated.
Flash the latest stock Oos.5.0.1 and check if the problem remains.

Thanks for the help. Booted the device with OB22.
The version I am using is 9.5 Global stable
I bought it from China and I have unlocked the phone.
So here is the problem.
First I downloaded the TWRP-3.2.3-0918 and installed in by one click in computer.
Then I went to the TWRP home page, I pressed the ROOT BUTTON and allowed it reboot when it finished.
However, it cannot reboot the system and it just came back to the TWRP page.
Unless I unroot it, I cannot reboot system.
PLEASE kindly help me to fix this problem. THANKS A LOT.
No one can help. Because Xiaomi Mi 8 doesn't support root.
you need to clear user data partition and install dm-verity force encryption disabler, miui encrypts the data portion so when you root the phone is not able to read it thus causing the bootloop
basically
boot twrp
flash Magisk
Install DM-VERITY AND FORCED ENCRYPTION DISABLER
reboot to bootloader
Perform
Code:
fastboot format userdata
Reboot
make sure u flash magisk 17.2!
Im try next

Am using 10.0.2.0 Global Stable Miui with Magisk 17.2. As mentioned above, you need to wipe data first to remove encryption! With encryption Magisk will not work. After formatting system and data, RMB to flash DM Verity and encryption disabler. DM Verity overrides recovery check at boot up so your recovery won't be replaced with stock recovery. Encryption disabler prevents encryption. Must be flashed before first boot.

Oh god, very useful info. Where many in the forums ask this and cannot be solved with the results of bootloop. Okay, I will give up my data with the satisfied results I get.
Can there be help for sharing files that you get where? It will be very satisfying the results with the same file you are using:good::good:

Yes, tried it . and also tried factory reset same issue
Did you flash Disable_Dm-Verity?
https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=1395089523397966811
Flash TWRP, enter twrp, format data, type YES, go to MOUNT, disable MTP and then enable again, now transfer the Disable_Dm-Verity file to your phone and flash it. Then try reboot system.

Sorry I don't know what you mean by f2fs but You just flash the orangefox recovery zip with twrp, i flashed dm_verity just to be safe but not sure if it's necessary. Orangefox is also based on TWRP so maybe fsfs works I'm not sure

So I'm planning on installing TWRP my question is if--
1)If I install TWRP and got on a bootloop can i still use Mi Flash to flash fastboot firmware to fix the bootloop?
or
2)If i have TWRP and MAGISK together then got on a bootloop can i just use Mi Flash to Flash fastboot firmware to fix the bootloop?
and is there any chance that a bootloop can't be fix with a Mi Flash when flashing twrp?
The only experience i had is I Flashing a Patched Boot.Img(magisk patch) to install magisk and when bootloop with magisk i just use Mi Flash.
and the only fix i know on bootloop is Mi Flash.
P.s sorry for my Bad english.
You can flash your fastboot ROM any time to fix bootloop from another reason. Just make sure you uncheck CLEAN ALL AND LOCK option in bottom right corner else you might hard brick. Flashing magisk will need a data format once too i think.

thanks ,yes i always check the clean only. :fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed:
I myself have bootlooped a lot in the beginning and fastboot ROM has always been my escape. Maybe you should know one thing i am facing when updating, DO NOT use direct install, download its ZIP then flash in TWRP, after that know that the booting can take a bit longer which might make you worried, mime takes even 3-5 mins sometimes but eventually it boots up[emoji1]

I tried installing it by using a program that does it automatically and also using the command prompt. I think I need to flash other files too and not only TWRP.
Share screenshots, please.
