I have just one doubt. I am on OOS 4.0.2, I have nandroid backup of 3.5.4 , can I just restore from that.
I mean ext4/f2fs , encryption , modem and base-band and all other differences.Currently I am on Encrypted and 3.5.4 Nandroid was
also Encrypted.
Thanks.
I was trying out a few Lineage ROMs and decided to go back to OOS (stock backup). But when I restore my backup, I am stuck at boot screen. I was running Sultan's LOS14.1 before attempting to restore my OOS 4.1.3 backup. Anyone know what would cause my backup to go bad? in TWRP (3.1.0-1) it shows the partitions I backed up are System, Data, and Boot.

Not sure what could have gone wrong but at least you can go into TWRP, looks like you might have to flash stock OOS again
Clean flash OOS and restore the backup afterwards.

I'll give this a try. Will I always have to do this when going from OOS to Lineage?

I guess there is some change to how encryption works between the two roms. If true, then yes. I would also advise to backup the whole user partition to a pc before trying.
I am on miui 11.0.3.0 android 10 I have twrp and magisk
And now I have made backup of all twrp partitions so In case anything goes wrong like bricking which partitons will you guys recommend to restore also should I do any wipe before restore another silly question how to dirty flash same miui 11.0.3.0 to get rid of brick
Curently I'm on latest Xiaomi.eu MIUI 11 Stable ROM (11.0.8) with TWRP 3.3.1-32, Mi 9T Pro.
I need to create a backup in TWRP of current MIUI 11 with all its data and settings but I don't know what to backup?
After creating the backup, I want to downgrade to MIUI 10 xiaomi.eu to test how battery usage compares to MIUI 11.
What partitions should I backup in TWRP for MIUI 11 to be able to succesfully restore it when I will want to come back from MIUI 10 to 11 without reinstalling MIUI 11 and all the apps and settings?
To sum up:
1. What partitions should I backup in TWRP to save all MIUI 11?
2. What should I wipe in TWRP to downgrade to MIUI 10?
3. What should I wipe in TWRP when MIUI 10 will be the current OS to succesfully restore MIUI 11 backup?
I repeat: only xiaomi.eu ROMs, no fastboot MIUI.
Just make sure you backup your vendor/perist if you want to keep Widevine L1 - https://forum.xda-developers.com/k20-pro/help/netflix-widevine-l1-lost-downgrade-t4011417

I tried to to move from EU stable to EU weekly formatting data, using TWRP...but I forgot to make some backups so I tried to restore from a TWRP backup of the stable and from then bootloop on the miui logo (I can go to fastboot and recovery). The problem is that I tried a lot of things and also asked help to the russian guy paying money for nothing. I can flash with fastboot, miflash, twrp...different roms, no way...after 3-4 minutes from reboot bootloop at the miui logo (not mi logo)...please help. I can pay obsiously for the job...I forgot to say that I hav a China 512gb

I think EU stable data partition file system is different than on the EU weekly, that's why developers of EU ROM advice to format data when you are moving from stable to weekly. Not sure for 100% but before data format was mandatory when switching EU branch. And TWRP when you make backup (its save's data + partition file type?).
Can you do a test ? Just flash EU weekly and then boot up phone, if everything is ok, go to TWRP and restore backup from stable.
If you end in bootloop, go to TWRP and FORMAT data only, if phone boots up, that's mean data backup is problem (different file system type?)
