My current phone is LG V30+. Unfortunately it was fallen from steps and the display got shattered. Now I dont want to spend 16K to repair its display therefore I thought of going with K20 Pro. Currently I see a lot of content on my phone (Netflix,Amazon Prime) so I wanted to know if Redmi K20 pro supports Google’s Widevine DRM solution (Widevine Level 1)??

No, the K20 and K20 pro don't support L1 because they are only for Chinese market. The global Mi 9T supports it and if the Mi 9 pro will also come the chance is high it will also support L1.

Can that be updated with software? I'm sure I read people saying that it was a hardware limitation.

Yes it can be done, xiaomi has done that with Poco F1 in the past and same would be done with the pro this time :good:

It has L1. I bought it during Alpha sale. However, weirdly enough, Amazon Prime is in SD. Only Netflix is in HD. Dunno why.
Yes it does with indian varient.

In India K20 pro comes with L1 support.
Hi, I'm on EU rom now, I do know that this case was mentioned not once, not twice but with this "global rom" release, for today's day - is there any way to get L1 widevine if I bought the Chinese version of k20 pro? Or do I have to wait for some miracle (like release of 9T Pro global and OTA)? Tbh I would rather relock my bootloader than not having L1 but before I bought xiaomi (my first one, OP only for years) I've heard that it is possible to have L1 and unlocked bootloader.
I will be very grateful for answers!
Cheers!
I was wondering if xiaomi mi 9t pro have gloves mode in settings. Im considering buying thr phone but if it doesnt i wond buy it because im using 360 case on every phone. The question is only for xiaomi mi 9t pro not k20 pro as those are not the same devices. Similar yes but not on the same market nor it is the same brend or sub brend. The Mi 9T Pro and Redmi K20 Pro are the same devices.
Aside from the fact you're wrong they are the same phone. There isn't any globe mode in the Mi 9T pro I have. There are small variations in software between the k20 and Mi 9t but they are definitely the same phone.
Right. They're the same phone with slight software differences and neither of them have glove mode.
You could probably enable it via a Magisk / Xpozed module, but I haven't heard of any.

AFAIK, even K20 nor K20 Pro doesn't even have that option to begin with.
I'm looking for a new phone and it's come down to the Xiaomi mi 9t pro or Realme X2 pro. The Realme is a bit more expensive but looks better in all aspects except for the camera and custom ROMs.
For me the availability of stable custom ROMs is very important and currently there doesn't seem to be anything going on for the Realme X2 pro in comparison to the mi 9t pro which is a deal breaker for me.
Is this because the mi 9t pro has been out for 2 months longer or is it a general problem with the Realme X2 pro?

Why are you not considering the OnePlus 7T? If you're happy to pay the extra for the Realme, then the OnePlus is more or less the same phone (it's really just the camera modules that differ), but has much more community dev support.
Personally, I've moved away from OnePlus because I didn't like how they've continually moved their prices way north, but they are still the most developer friendly and have the most active developer community.

The realme is already a bit over budget and the oneplus is even more expensive and also without a headphone jack.

I'm the same as you, in that I won't buy a phone with no custom ROM development.
Having just looked at the Realme X20 Pro forum, there is zero development, only the legend Mauronofrio has provided a TWRP, but otherwise there's tumbleweed blowing through the dev section. Personally I wouldn't touch it as things stand. If you prefer the Realme and can wait, then hang on and see if things improve in a month or so.
You could also see what the Mi 10 brings (assuming that will be the next Mi phone), it can't be far off. Maybe Xiaomi will include UFS 3.0 and 90Hz, now their competitors are doing this I imagine Xiaomi will follow suit.
X2 Pro arrived very late, not many have bought it tbh, if they can release their next phone parallel to K30 pro then it will be fun. But for now if rather have K20 pro

Looks like we won't be getting the Super Wallpapers I'm afraid. Not a huge loss IMO as the novelty of live wallpapers wears off pretty quickly, but it would be nice to play around with them for a day or two.
Mi CC9 supports Super wallpapers. Im using MiRoom, which is customised Russian build. It has super wallpapers, i think they built it based on Chinese version. So the phone supports but Xiaomi is not providing this feature officially.

Well obviously the Mi 9 Lite/CC9 are more than powerful enough to run super wallpapers (which are nothing more than glorified live wallpapers). A port has been available for awhile now and they can easily be sideloaded to even non-Xiaomi phones. Personally I find the animations obnoxious so I never bothered, but the port is available on XDA if you're interested.
It's just a marketing ploy to exclude some of their older phones from receiving all of the MIUI 12 features. They want you to go and buy their newest flagships.
