Does anyone know the size of the system partition for both 16G and 32G Moto X? My current phone has 1 GB for the system partition, which gives me very limited space for app installation.

App installation doesn't take the system partition memory
sent from my Moto X (2014)

You're right. App isn't installed to /system and it goes to /data. I don't have a good word to call it. Maybe "internal storage", which is kind of confuse too, since Moto X does not have any external storage.
Do you guys notice any space issue for installing new apps? My current phone only have 1 GB for "internal storage" even it has 16GB in total for storage space. 1GB sounds a lot but I only can have 80+ apps. Some app is very large, for example, Chrome is 65MB.
My brother was using his Moto G just regularly, (after I enabled the swap partition for better RAM management, it had some out of memory issues before that and that fixed it), when the screen went black. I looked at the panel and it appeared to be still on but showing black. We weren't at home by the time it happened, so I couldn't check via ADB if it was still online. The panel went off after a while and now I can't even boot it up to the bootloader. I plugged it in to charge it for quite a while, it still doesn't boot into the bootloader. I can't do anything now. I hope though that Roehsoft Swap (the App I am using) didn't wipe accidentally a vital partition (but I doubt that the bootloader can be corrupted from withing the OS). I tried everything to make it boot at least into the recovery or the bootloader, without any success. The device has an unlocked bootloader, TWRP MultiROM recovery, The Green Machine Kernel and PA5Alpha1. Is the nand storage faulty or any component (mainboard, CPU, etc)?
I dont understand why did you enable SWAP partition in the 1st place. 1GB is more than enough also Android's Built-In RAM management is totally optimized to take care of the memory and the running apps.
SWAP comes into play when your RAM is completely used and the system swaps the last unused memory blocks into the swap partition to free up the RAM. I hope the swap hasnt affected the memory nand chip.
Charge the phone till 100%, unplug the charger wait for some time and then try to boot into "Bootloader".
If you are able to boot in to "bootloader" flash factory firmware to restore your all partitions to stock.
If all else fails, that means your phone has "HARD BRICKED", you will have to go to the Service Center to get the motherboard replaced.
Hello!
I recently got a Oneplus 3T and I installed resurrection remix (7.1.1) on it, I first formatted the system to get rid of the encryption and I didn't really pay attention to my storage. Today I went into twrp to take a backup of everything and I noticed that I only have 11gb free whilst I barely have anything installed...
After taking a closer look in windows explorer it shows that my device only has 25gb of storage space instead of 64gb...
How do I fix this?
EDIT: the OS shows that I have 54gb of total space but that I'm using 47.14gb and most of it is used by "System" @ 30gb... wtf?
Thanks!
Format your data via TWRP. Should fix your issue with 30GB of storage.
Having 47GB of free storage after first boot is perfectly normal.
had this issue on op3, format data (not wipe) in twrp fixed it
I recently installed linux deploy and while it was making an image linux deploy got closed. now i have nearly 4 gigs of space missing and have done a full twrp wipe to no avail. the space is just gone... please help as with 16g internal storage 4 gigs is all i had to spare.
update after wiping with twrp and it still showing space was wrong i restored my backup anyways and after booting the space returned as it should be. still unclear as to why twrp would reflect the wrong space available after a complete wipe.
After update the phone in to March update I reset my MI A2 It show system storage size 13GB after restart the device it shows again 12GB
Is this normal?
(I already did a recovery factory reset, to no avail. It didn't change a thing.)
If 13Gb storage size for Android One is normal, then I'm rather disappointed.
For me it says 16gb XO,
