You can use whatever modules you want if they are compatible, or none at all as well. If you just want root for roots sake, or for a few root apps, you can do that too :good:

AT&T S5 Devs, do we have any?

Really curious to see if we have any Devs working on the AT&T S5 yet? If so, when do you all think we can expect to start seeing some stuff in the development threads? Obviously BL needs unlocking, if possible. Do we know of anyone working on this?
Thanks Guys!!!

Wow, you haven't read this forum much before posting, have you.
No root yet = no development yet.

I am aware there is no root. If your insinuating that there is some other thread on the subject, I am fairly certain there is not. If you mean something different entirely then would you please elaborate?

My S5 is coming in today. Locked boot loader means no development ever except for maybe some safe strap stuff much later down the road which is just rehash of stock roms. No AOSP or CM.

I personally don't really care about roms, as I like the new Touchwiz and don't want to lose some of its nice features. I would like to have root, though. Hopefully someone finds a way for that to happen soon.
Edited OP to clarify on some confusion about exactly what I was asking.

Chainfire needs to the stock recovery to build root for the device, basically auto root by chainfire modifies stock recovery temporarily, flashes su then flashes back stock firmware through odin.

You can't pull recovery without root on your device, the only thing we ATT users can do is wait for Samsung to post the firmware which they havent, SM-G900A is the ATT model number, Tmo and Sprint are already up so they already have root.

keep refreshing and hope it gets posted soon lol.
hmm
Keep in mind guys that if the ATT BL is locked chances are CF Root will fail to flash or boot even if CF builds one for ATT...also if this happens knox warranty is tripped leaving you without warranty coverage and no root...likely a new KK exploit will have to be found...hope I'm wrong about the BL as I'd like to get rid of bloat before handing the phone off to GF..
Wow this iB4STiD person has some serious thanks racked up!!! Hey iB4STiD, are you going to be working on stuff for the S5?

You better hope he is. He was one of my favorite S4 developers.

Yes, you can unroot by deleting the Superuser.apk and busybox.apk (If installed) from the /system/app folder and also the su binary from /system/xbin on your phone.

Mods please move to correct section if this place is not coorect.
Oh this would be lovely. The phone is vulnerable to Quadrooter exploits!

Great all we need now is for a dev to make a generic universal rooting app using this exploit.

I have no idea, but its nothing anymore special than the other monthly kernel vulns we see. For your phone you would need a bootlaoder or dmverity exploit too

Huh I thought that root and bootloader unlocks were seperate because we didn't need an unlocked bootloader for towelroot. But also dm-verity was introduced in Android 4.4 and towelroot for this was for 4.4.2 and thee was no dm-verity bypass needed.
Hi, after all remote commands , or vulnerabilities, read carefully where is your /system malware by default.
Thanks!
What is the cne module?

So in simple terms I'm probably not gonna see a root method using quadrooter in the near future?

Best possible thing to do would be to keep it on as long as you can and download a rom installer, to write a script to install the rom that the phone HAS to abide by.

No it's possible.... But very hard they had some bootloader locked phones rooted and with twrp ... But the last few have been no go...s9 still isn't rooted... You need to find a exploit that allows you to get su access and sadly most of the people that were doing such things now make money with the phone manufactures on the other side.. Keeping phones locked down
