Tencent converted to WW, model number? - ASUS ROG Phone II Questions & Answers

I have been playing Black Desert Mobile when I noticed I cannot max graphics even though the game supports ROG 2. My Tencent was flashed to WW rom and I saw the model is shown as ASUS_I001DE. When I checked the ROG 2 elite phones in the shop they show as ASUS_I001DC.
Does anyone know how to change this? I already looked in build.prop and the vendor.model is listed a s ASUS_I001D only. It is pulling the last letter from somewhere. I can only surmise from this that 8GB models are DE while 12GB models are DC. Anyone manage to change this?

Did you manage to find a solution for this?

Concerned too. Please update info if you find a solution for that. thanks

The model number is set based on what the property ro.boot.id.prj is set to. That, in turn, is set from androidboot.id.prj which is passed from the bootloader to the kernel - and that's read from a gpio pin on the device itself, so unfortunately there's probably no way of changing it on the device-level.
If you're rooted you can override the ro.boot.id.prj propety in magisk and set it to 2, that will change the model number to I001DC. Other than that I don't believe there's any way of changing it.

phone for 8.9

I know there is a phone in here somewhere.
Just got a refurb SGH-I957 for ATT. In looking though the settings I found a mention of a phone when I put my SIM card in from my Tab 7
the code after the model number is UCKJ7 which I believe refers to the modem/radio. I suspect that once I have unlocked and rooted this tablet I can change the modem and perhaps find the pony (phone). I've also read that once rooted I can find a file that locks the phone per ATT and that that file has a check box that can be changed to allow the phone to be displayed.
It makes no sense to me that Samsung would create a number of different hardware versions for the same product and that the various software features are enabled or disabled according to the carriers wishes. What difference does it make to ATT whether my device has a phone or not except they can charge more for certain features.
Anybody know which files are used by the phone or how to go about enabling the phone software
whatsapp works.
Tago can use as phone .

[Q] Samsung galaxy note shows conflicting device number

I recently bought the Unlocked Galaxy note 1 from eBay(India). It has conflicting device numbers written on back of the device and one on the "About Phone" menu. On back of the device its written as n7000 and "About Phone" menu shows it as "SHV-e160K", I need some help in identifying whether the device is fake? (From build of the device it looks genuine Samsung ),
This phone also has some other issues as below
1. It does not display the the career range although I was able to register to local Vodafone network and I am able to have incoming and outgoing calls. Also 3G works pretty well.
2. About phone menu sows Baseband version :-Unknown
3. NFC unable to detect the NFC tags
4. Samsung kies software not able to detect the device
5. Many Samsung softwares installed on the device fail to update saying software not signed by Samsung
I have replacement of the phone in transit, Once I receive the new device, are there any steps which can help me confirm genuineness of the device ?
Also is there any way to confirm if 4G works ,without having to insert 4G sim card?
You are the owner of a korean versison of the Samsung Galaxy Note now. Different hardware. No own forum here. Search for "e160K" and you'll find a lot of threads related to "SHV or SHE e160K".
What does it say unknown base-band version

Thanks, I had misspelled the number,
How can I know if this is really SHV-e160K instead of n7000, because back of the phone shows number as n7000, When I search with IMEI number on google , it shows device number as n7000 although phone info shows 1.5GHz processor(which is specific to SHV). Does this device carry IMEI number registered against n7000?

Use quadrant standard app to check the cpu info. If it's a qualcomm based cpu then it's a Korean note. If the back cover has n7000, then it could be possible that the motherboard inside might have changed.
GPU is Qualcomm

As I checked using quandrant standard app, it shows details as below
GPU [Screenshot attached GPU.jpg]
Vendor: Qualcomm
Renderer Adreno(TM) 220
Vresion: OpenGL ES 2.0
CPU [Screenshot attached CPU.jpg]
Name: Armv7 Processor rev2(v7l)
Current Freq: 1512MHz
Max frex: 1512Mhz
Min Freq: 192 MHz
Cores : 2
Architecture: 7
BogoMIPs:13.54
Hardware: QCT MSM8X60 FUSION FFA
Revision: 2
GPU looks inline with the Qualcomm processor, I am not sure about CPU version as Samsung website do not mention the version of CPU for SHV-e160K.
Maybe its the false label behind the device, but it looks suspicious..?

Huawei P9 EVA-AL10 does not accept European APN settings

Hi,
I got one of those great phones a couple of days ago. The Chinese premium dual sim - EVA-AL10. It works with my mobile provider, but I have an issue with the mobile internet. It would not show the configuration SMS and when I attempted manual configuration it will not save the APN if I change the default MCC and MNC. The default phone values are MCC 204 and MNC 04. The technical support of my provider (Bob in Bulgaria) instructed me to enter MCC 284 and MNC 01. But if I do this, when I click save the configuration is not there. If I create it without changing the default values it saves, but if I change them later on save the configuration disappears as well. The support told me this could mean the telephone is locked or incompatible with networks outside of China, but they were not sure what the problems is. I am using the original Chinese ROM. The seller offered to flash something they called international version ROM, for the additional languages they said. I refused in order for the them not to unseal the box. I wonder if this "International" ROM is going to solve my problem, but I cannot find it anywhere? Or do I need some kind of unlock code or firmware? Any information is much appreciated!
My phone build number: EVA-AL10C00B151
Baseband: 21.198.00.00.031
Hi,
I received that very same model yesterday. I live in Spain and have no problem using it with 2 different operators here. I guess at least it works with some operators outside china.
Although I have no problem with my voice or internet access with either of the 2 SIMs, I am actively looking for an international ROM to flash it. As you may know, there are some non-removable chinese apps, being the more annoying the one that tries to update things with the chinese version of the program (HiApp). Voice detection is chinese oriented so some funny things happen when trying to activate the function Like when they force you to read the activation words in chinese, or the chinese words for answering the phone or others
My model is EVA-AL10, Android 6.0, EMUI 4.1 and compilation number EVA-AL10C00B168.
Ask your "seller" to explain you exactly "which" ROM they are going to use and that is in fact compatible with the capabilities of your hardware. Thing is I've been looking for an international ROM for this model since before I bought it but I wasn't able to find one. Make sure they do not use a ROM compatible with european models but which do not support dual sim. I think it is supposed to be released a version for european market but is still not released (EVA-L29). forum.xda-developers.com/p9/help/eva-l29-stock-rom-eva-l10-t3387185/page2
Best of lucks!
Seb
What do you mean by "unseal the box"? Your provider wanted to flash the international version firmware for you. That is an official one therefore won't void your warranty. Moreover some chinese resellers like Alibaba do flash international version for phones sold outside of China. You can let the customer support of your provider to flash that version.
Hey,
My problems with data turned out to be, because the operator was instructing me to configure my Dutch sim instead of my Bulgarian one Figured that out, now internet access works great. Very nice phone! The seller would not give me any information about what ROM they were going to install. If you find an international version (after it gets out), please let me know.
I don't trust Chinese sellers too much. Better to use Chinese ROM than to have a phone that was thrown around a couple of months as demo device in some Chinese store.
Could somebody list all the chinese apps, which are installed out of the box? I just want to compare it with my Honor 7 (also chinese version)
Hi there.
I'm also purchased the Chinese version of P9 plus VIE-AL10, dual sim.
It's working just fine with both my operators (voice, internet, SMS, MMS and wifi) but I can't register my phone with Huawei ID cause supports only Chinese area phones. There are many apps needing Huawei ID to work and without it, are unusable...
So, I'm looking for a solution, if there is any.
My phone Version # is VIE-AL10C00B176
and I live in Greece.
Thanks in advance for any help.
Nicholas.
hI! I use this model EVA AL10 in India...The phone works flawlessly despite China specific firmware and the chinese language in the stock browser and other Huawei is only a minor annoyance. i was horrified when the android wear apps from Playstore AND HiApp refused to pair with my phone....i get a message ...use an android wear in china device! its such a shame...the only option seems to be rooting the phone and installing the international rom everyone keeps talking about...please help

Weirdness with model number

So I got my hands on a Flex and I am pretty sure it's factory reset. I was looking for a good root and rom (Still need both so suggestions welcome)
when I checked the model number which says "LG-H815" Anywhere I check that shows up as a G4 model, not a flex.
Any ideas?
As an additional question is it possible to spoof the phones MAC adress to be the same as my other phones to connect to wifi? Uni limits us to two devices, and one is a laptop and the other my main phone.

N950U1 FW Update N950U1UEU5CRG6 - Own Number unknown

Monday I updated the FW of my US unlocked Note 8 (N950U1 / SD-version) with N950U1UEU5CRG6.
After the update I noticed that in Settings - About Phone, My Phone Number is listed as UNKNOWN. I am using the phone in The Netherlands with provider Hollandsnieuwe (=Vodafone). I am certain that the actual phone number was correctly displayed prior to the FW update.
Not sure if related, but Find My Phone/Device does no longer work via Samsung or Google. Is does work through Bitdefender Anti Theft...
Anyone has this or other issue after the update? Thoughts?

Hi, on my 2 Note8 dual sim, it is said : phone number⇒ unknown. And this from the beginning (on every firmwares). I'm in france using two french sim cards in the phone and i bought my phones on samsung shop. Until now, no problem, everything works great.
My branded, but unlocked 950F, as I paid for it the full price to use it as a prepaid phone displays the same, unknown number, since day one, I bought it directly from the major carrier in Mexico which is Telcel, everything works fine, all services and VoLTE
You mean like this seeing on my screenshot? This number is only visible if it's saved into your SIM card. Since a while, the carriers/operators don't write longer the numbers into the SIM card
So if you don't see it now, you never saw it before!
But there was an xposed module (if I remember right on android 4.4.2) where you can change this (showing) number.
(It don't changed your registered phone number!)
At that time I had found that thread
https://r.tapatalk.com/shareLink?ur...share_tid=2106490&share_fid=3793&share_type=t
That should be the correct GitHub link:
https://github.com/OXINARF/SIMNumberChanger
But it looks like there is a newer xposed module called SIMEditor - maybe that still works (when your device is rooted and xpised installed)
http://repo.xposed.info/module/com.gnufabio.simeditor

Sorry for German language. The first line: Eigene Telefonnummer means "own phone number"
Don't be afraid to hit the "Thanks" button if someone helped you. It don't hurts
I've never had my phone number displayed in the information menu. As far back as the Note 3, no matter what firmware, official or custom, or even other phones. I live in South Africa. After reading @Logel's explanation, it now makes sense to me why it never showed to me, because of the way South African carriers assign numbers to customers.

I know it's not the exact same model, but my N950F/DS shows my phone number there like normal. Not sure why it's not showing in your case though.
