[solution] galaxy ace invalid arguement cant mount /data

i have seen people on xda with bricked galaxy ace in which they cannot factory reset, they cannot flash successfully with odin and iether /system or /data is corrupted. they cannot factory reset properly without errors. I think this may be a universal solution for gt-s5830i (do not flash with s5380) other variants may work but i cannot garentee:
requirements:
usb cable
windows 7
galaxy ace
samsung usb drivers
ability to get into recovery and odin
step 1:
download files below
step 2:
enter download mode and plug your phone in
step 3:
download attached odin and run as admin
step 4:
download and extract http://www.mediafire.com/?903oq9l7qbmkir4 (firmware) passcode: Mod2extreme.com
OR
download all attatchments at the bottom of this post
step 5:
run odin as administrator
step 6:
attach files extracted from step 4 IN THIS ORDER!
1. bootloader
2.pda
3. phone
4. csc
5. pit file from odin package
step 7: making sure keis is not running, flash and dont touch anything!!!
step 8: if reboot with sound you should be fine if not reboot pc and try again

[Q] Create a zipable StockROM

Hey,
first of all sorry for my bad english. I really hope anyone understand the problem and can help me
I have tried the following steps to create the zip:
1. downloaded the actually FTF
2. renamed ROM.ftf to ROM.zip
3. extracted the system.sin
4. extract the system.sin to ext4 via Flashtool 0.9.12.1
Then occurred the first problem. I could not open the ext4 file with any tool from XDA.
So I searched for other options to create the zip and tried the following steps:
1. installed the FTF on the smartphone i prefer
2. installed the doomkernel with dual-recovery
3. started a twrp backup
4. copied the syststem.ext4.win to my harddrive
5. extrated the system.ext4.win and put it together with the META-files and the updater-script
Butevery time when i tried to flash this file, i received the error "error set_perm aborted ... 7"
I get the same message when I tried to flash the ROM from @krabappel2548

Is there a problem with the recovery?

But how would I proceed without tools? And the second question is, why can not I install the ROM from krabappel?

You need to install the tools. Either install a dual boot linux machine or a virtual Linux machine. Read post 3 of that thread

rename it to system.img.

"The system can not find the specified file (0x"80070002: execute [my path] flash_all_except_storage.bat)"
What am I supposed to do? Maybe I'm a bit stupid, but I followed the guide step by step *thread* ...

Hi,
there are 3 methods to update the rom:
Method 1 - Phone's Updater app
Method 2 - From Recovery mode
Method 3 - From Fastboot mode
Method 1 & 2 use "update.zip" file.
Method 3 uses "update.tgz" file.
Using MiFlash should be method 3
Perhaps you can download the generic tgz file from:
http://en.miui.com/thread-14641-1-1.html
Or you can spend some time to look for a tgz file
that is specfic to your country and language.

There are three batch (.bat) files in the .tar or .tgz file you chose for flashing :-
1)flash_all.bat
2)flash_all_except_storage.bat
3)flash_all_except_data_storage.bat
Therefore, the error simply meant that file no.2 (as above) is missing from the archive. So you can try the other two options or redownload the flashing archive.

Bricked P9 with all partitions corrupt.

I tried to do the oem unlock and tried to change the region. now it is not booting and i can access twrp and fastboot only. e recovery mode is not downloading anything. i tried flashing rom through twrp. but it says cannot mount partitions (invalid arguement). So please help me what should i do?

Okey i had the same problem and dont worry because there are always solutions. (Sorry for my english, so I'm spanish)
First of all you will need to format your MicroSD, put it in a computer and then format it and clean.
After, if u have the bootloader and the TRWP installed is so easy, dowload the oeminfo_c432.zip (remember that u have to dowload the OEMINFOC432 for EVA-L19, dont dowload for EVA-l09) and copy the .Zip to the Micro SD (DONT extract, only copy the zip)
Then u dowloand the C432B136 (2,2Gb aprox, ) Atention: i supose that u have all this dowload but u have to dowload again because when u try to install and fail it becomes corrupt so you have to dowload again and extract all into the MicroSD. After this u have to have the Zip of the oeminfo432 and the file "Dload"
After this is so easy, turn on the mobile (POWER+UP) to enter with TWRP, now u go to Install, open the MicroSD and install the .zip "Oeminfo_c432", dont worry if when u are installing appear messages like "Can't mount data or failed partition or something like that, just dont worry.
Finally when this is installed click reboot in TRWP and press the 3 buttons to force the install the "dload" and will start to installing correctly.
Conclusion, is so important format and clean the MicroSD first of all and download again everything because i supose that u have the same files but are corrupt.
Again, sorry for my english and if u need more help contact with me and i will try to help u.

Huawei GT3 ROM Help [NO OS]

Hi, I saw some threads saying some stuff about the Huawei GT3, but they didnt helped me so Im posting this thread.
I have a huge Problem with my phone.
(Im a Newbie btw)
I wanted to root my phone so I installed TWRP and rebooted (TWRP works btw), now it said "Encryption unsuccessfull"
I looked up on YouTube to look how to fix this and ended up deleting my complete OS
Now I downloaded the Firmware of my Phone and looked how to install it with TWRP and ADB.
When I try to install the "update.zip" File with TWRP it says something like this :

Error installing zip file '/data/update.zip'
I also tried to delete the "assert" parts in the updater-script file but it also didnt work.
Now I heard about the "dload" Method but I have some questions about that
1. Where is the dload folder exactly
2. When I try to move the folder cointaining the "update.zip" to as expample root It says not enough space on device (which Is not true) or something like this :
Running command: 'mv "/data/update.zip" "/root"'
mv: write error: No space left on device
mv "/data/update.zip" "/root" process ended with ERROR: 1
Do I maybe have the wrong ROM or something?
Please help me . (or try )

Check the dload guide in my signature. You will know everything. Let me know if any questions or doubts, will help. Dont worry twrp error is normal as these zips shouldn't be flashed with twrp

I bought myself a Micro-SD card and extraced the ZIP like in your tutorial, and its working!
Its installing right now!
But I wanted to say something..first thank you very much and second the Russian Website you provided gave me the wrong package, this was the right one :

There are many ways to get firmware but the best part it worked and successful. Enjoy buddy.
