No one is likely going to guide you "step by step" on how to root the phone. If you cannot read the forums and figure that out on your own then you really shouldn't be rooting to begin with.

[Q] should root the galaxy note before upgrading it to 2.3.6?

Hi everyone, just wanna know should root the galaxy note before upgrading it to 2.3.6?
according to my reading of other instruction thread, there's no mention of root before flashing device. So no need to root before flashing? I'm just not very certain about that.
maybe it's a silly question.im newbie.
thx everyone
My rooted 2.3.5 got unrooted after the 2.3.6 update via Kies. So I'd update your phone 1st before root.
could anybody can answer my question, who already flash their note?
Flashing Stock Rom will unroot your device, so no point of rooting before flashing. check here for rooting instructions

First time rooting. Own MOTOROLA DROID TURBO from Verizon. Help!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi,Im first time rooter and i have a problem to understand the whole story about this. I found all the step by step instructions how to root it to 5.1 lollipop(as much i understood i need to root it on kk and after to flash it to lollipop) but my concern is how to downgrade firmware from 21.21.15quark_verizon.en.us to firmware 21.44.12. so i can do a rooting after. I was digging all over internet especially on this forum and i couldn't find any instructions how to do it. I will need step by step about this. Please if there is anybody that can help me i would appreciate his help. Thank you
I don't think you can downgrade once you're at lollipop. That's why people have been not upgrading or calling to get a refurbished phone and hoping it still has kit kat on it

Is there any rooting methods in 2015 so you dont have to downgrade firmware to root ?

Seems a difficult phone to root and i can only find rooting methods in 2014, I wondered if there was any easier ways, this has got to be on one of the hardest phones to root.
Thanks in advance
Andy.
No there isn't. Just follow the tutorial step by step. It looks harder than what is it.

New to rooting, please help me out!

Help me with rooting my Huawei P10 VTR-L29
I'm new to rooting and I would really appreciate it if someone could tell me how i do it step by step .
I'm not completely lost, however i really don't want to brick my phone as i don't have any more money for a new phone
Check here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/p10/how-to/guide-magisk-v15-4-oreo-t3759998
Be careful with other root methods, I read several sad stories about bricks from users who tried to root.

I would update first. Look for Firmware Finder for speeding up the updates.

FF is pretty safe since it only tricks the original updater. All steps are clearly described by the OP in this thread (Step 4): https://forum.xda-developers.com/p10/how-to/huawei-p10-debrand-rebrand-update-guide-t3691013
Need to unlock your bootloader first and install TWRP before rooting your phone.

Simplest guide to update, fingerprint, and root?

I'm hoping someone can provide me with the simplest guide to update, fingerprint, and root my particular phone...
I have a ROG Phone 2 128gb Tencent Edition that I bought on eBay and it came with the WW 1906.19 ROM but still has the CN fingerprint. It's NOT currently rooted and the bootloader is still locked.
I do have experience rooting and flashing devices. I have a rooted Nvidia Shield Tablet and Nexus 5 currently and have rooted many other devices in the past. However, there seem to be so many different guides on here for this device, depending on several variables, that I'm just not sure what's right for MY device with it's several versions old ROM and mismatched fingerprint...
I would like to flash the newest WW ROM, fix the fingerprint to match the WW ROM, and root. Any help would be appreciated.
Search in YouTube 'Bobby Prats'. His videos are the simplest guide to follow.

Use this guide but as you want to keep root, ignore the final steps to unroot...
https://forum.xda-developers.com/ro...-ww-rom-changing-cn-fingerprint-t3969765/amp/
then you can go ahead and flash this latest rom
ALTERNATIVELY,
instead of using the out dated rom in that thread, just use the raw rom from here and the root boot img from here that'll get you the latest 1910.35 rom on WW by using the rest of the instructions form the guide.
Also note, you need to remove or delete the original zip from the raw folder once extracted as it confuses the Flashall_AFT.cmd with the raw rom having the same name.
Also note, you need to delete the spaces from the links in the guide (located near the begining of the links), as the user didn't have enough posts to create working links... I keep meaning to get around to creating a guide with working links, but don't find the time lol!!
I've created a more up to date guide...
