So I dropped this Mi 9 in water and I am getting some interesting problems. When hold the power button connected to power the screen flashes for a millisecond. A shot in the dark but I wonder if anyone could tell me whether that's a mobo or digitiser/amoled problem? I've done a full teardown of it and I can't see any visible water damage on the mobo.

Hi,
It appears you can save some serious $$$ if you go to a 3rd party repair service. But the repair service asks if my touchscreen is cracked, or the LCD is broken, or both. I am clueless about this. Can anyone tell from the image below?

When the phone is turned off, I only see a tiny scratch (in the area that's towards the bottom left in the pic). It kinda looks as if the scratch is underneath the glass protecting the display.
Run your finger across the damaged looking area.
If you feel the damage, its the digitizer (touch screen). If you don't, its the LCD.
My phone took a very small fall today. When I got it was very dark screen, low resolution and with objects leaving traces on the screen.
I restarted but nothing has been fixed.
He was never unlocked, it is with the original ROM 6.0.
Can anyone help suggest what was wrong and what I could try to fix?
Follow the attached images.
Thank you very much!

Physical damage. You'll need a new screen.
Anyone else have an opinion?
Or the diagnosis of damaged hardware is final?

I would also agree with this. It seems to be a broken screen.
When you touch the screen there is a ..

some user on reddit /r/androidwear had another issue with a few dead pixels but other than that i am not aware that there are major problems. i don't have them, maybe some solder got lose or something who knows.
Hooray!)) I got to solve the problem with the screen.
It was not a dead pixel.
The problem is hidden in the loop connector, sealed-off contact on the ground.
Was poorly soldered connector, now everything works fine and does not flicker))

I have the same problem.

Can you please get a closer pic of the poorly soldered connector ? I do not see the issue on the already attached pics ?
Long story short, got the below phone which has a very faint display. Any ideas if it can be repaired without replacing the display?
I opened the phone disconnected the battery + display cable and left for few minutes and reconnected didn't solve the issue (will be leaving them not connected overnight just in case)

As the back light is built-in the screen, you will have to replace it to hopefully fix it, unless the fault is in the power circuitry on the logic board. Luckily the price for a new screen isn't that expensive, and if you're lucky you can get hold of the correct lcd panel with dci p3 support.

managed to get a friends 3t and opened it swapped motherboard and the screen is faulty. Any tried and tested suppliers ?
Hello there.
I'm having a problem with proximity sensor reacting to covering after I've replaced battery. The screen hasn't been replaced, just glued back in with precut adhesive stripes. I've checked sensor with Sensor Test app available on Play Store to check if it actually reacts to anything and apparently it does work when i cover it with mirror-like object but not others like it should.
What could be the problem here?
If it matters when I started unscrewing midframe screws one of it was very lose and when I screwed them back I've tightened that one tighter.
