Hello all,
Hope someone can help me out with this issue!
Yesterday I woke up and the phone was turned off, I plugged in the charger and after couple of minutes I turned it on but it is stuck on the Samsung logo for few minutes, then it restarts and does the same, and finally restarts taking me to an error screen with 4 options, one of them is to retry which I did but it didn't work. Another option is to erase data, I did that but it didn't work, then finally I managed to get to a screen where I can do full wipe, I did and restarted but no luck. Then finally I downloaded Odin with the latest firmware matching my country, I flashed it through the bootloader but again it didn't work.
The message I am getting is:
#Reboot Recovery Cause is [system_server:18108 RecoverySystemRescueParty]#
E:[libfs_mgr]Unable to disable quotas on /dev/block/platform/13d60000.ufs/by-name/userdata because /system/bin/tune2fs is missing
# MANUAL MODE v1.0.0#
I would really appreciate it if someone can help.
Thank you

Have you downloaded the latest firmware for your device and making sure to flash the HOME CSC file in it? You can use SamFirm to download it.

Yes I downloaded the latest firmware from SamMobile, and I also used SamFirm to download it, flashed it using Odin.
Just to make sure, in Odin, the last 2 files are: CSC and USERDATA, and in the firmware the last 2 files are:
CSC_OMC_OXM_G973FOXM5CTD1_CL18242812_QB30539088_REV01_user_low_ship.tar
and
HOME_CSC_OMC_OXM_G973FOXM5CTD1_CL18242812_QB30539088_REV01_user_low_ship.tar
Which one goes to CSC and which one goes to USERDATA?
I already put CSC_OMC in CSC and HOME_CSC in USERDATA, if there is another way to do it please let me know.
Thanks a lot

There's your problem. You need to put HOME CSC in CSC and leave user data blank. I'm curious as to why you put a CSC file in the USER DATA section?

Have you done a full wipe? You probably need it after flashing a CSC file to the user data partition I'm sure that could have screwed something up. I'd tried wiping and starting over.

While i wipe cache in recovery mode i receive first this error E:[PDP] lstat /c____/pdp_b__ : 0 - No PDP scenario , and after that it says wipe cache completed, I doubt whether the cache was successfully installed.
select CSC instead of HOME_CSC
I had similar problems after upgrading via ODIN because of Magisk with the current CDT1 ROM.
Leave user_data empty, go for the full CSC and a wipe/factory reset
Never had such problems with an update within the same Android version ...

Wiping cache and doing a full factory data wipe is two different things. You need to do a full factory data reset and then flash the latest firmware with Odin with HOME CSC in CSC and leave user data blank. The issue you are having is most likely due to you flashing a CSC file in the user data partition. Make sure to back up anything you need that is stored in the internal storage first though.
If your phone wont turn on why are you guys flashing firmwares. Doesn't make any sense. If it booted the night before and you woke up to bootlooping. Obviously something else is going on. Flashing **** can just make it worse.
Socorro
this problem is caused by damaged EFS,a solution would be to flash an ENG EFS or even a normal EFS of same security

Hello,
I just bought my GN, and I tried to flash to version 4.0.3 of android through Odin 3 v 1.87. Unfortunately, the flash has blocked the file Hidden.img. I then tried installing different versions oldest and most stable wipe or no wipe or anything but it is still blocking hidden.img to making my phone useless.
More recently, I can not even to flash, the phone switches itself off and ...
Basically, I need help before throwing it!

Therefore impossible to flaher.

You flash wrong firmware?
Is your phone I8190 or what?
How you tried repartition? What file it was? Errors?
After stock firmware you have to make hard reset(factory reset) that wipe all older files from phone. So back up is needeed if wanna save.
I can give you that WIPE files if wanna. Use with ODIN(pda)
I've had this problem, I solved it by formatting /modem via CWM and flashing modem.bin via Odin in PDA.
But I still have this CP: XXXX issue.

Why you flash just modem.bin? Was it for you country??! It is region -code dependies(country and what telephone network phone can use....) So your problem XXXX means, there is not any....
Did you hard reset after flashing?
Because I flashed a bootloader in there accidentally it was a typo really. So no matter what I did modem didn't work, so I had no choice but to format /modem and flash everything all over again. I think I deleted a file needed to recognize my Baseband version, the phone works normally it just doesn't show any Baseband version.

I used Odin v1.83, v3.07, v3.09 & v3.10.0. Still got the same result i don't know if the phone needs to be wiped completely but i'm afraid the phone will die on me.
With Odin, all I can flash is a stock rom and a rooted stock rom. Any stock rom with recovery in it would fail. Once I got a root stock rom on it, I used a terminal app to write TWRP to the recovery block. From there I could flash other roms. Back everything up that is unique to our phone like IMEI as soon as you can just in case. Make sure you have copies elsewhere like your pc. You might wipe your internal, external sdcard or both by accident. I'm stuck with f2fs on my system drive, no way to reformat and no way to flash a rom that can use f2fs.
So the recovery block is locked and I think bootloader and possibly another area as well. Blocked as far as Odin, but not from the phone once it is running.
HELP!!! Lost IMEI & Hard bricked Note 8 SM-N950F/DS.
I flashed back my Note8 via Kies3 to stock rom, while updating the process got stuck at 24%. I left it overnight but the phone kept looping to the Installing Update screen then to recovery and on and on.
Then I flashed TWRP recovery through odin and wiped dalvik cache, cache, data and factory reset. The same thing kept on happening but instead of stock recovery it now ends up on TWRP recovery. Then I flashed dm-noverity. After that the phone booted up but there is no IMEI and phone signal. Please help.

You need Combination file to fix it
lost emei
this happened to me. I lost imei and could not make calls. what network were you on. I downloaded software for that network from sammobile and installed via odin, the imei returned and I was able to make calls again. I think what happened in my case was I rooted phone and put a rom on it. in aroma I selected t mobile America so it installed the file for that. I was on o2. my phone was unlocked. it did not recognise my simcard
Flash different modems
Hi
It has happened to me too many times with different phones including note 8
Just flash different modems and bootloaders to find the proper one.
androidfilehost .com/?w=files&flid=221868
*:Remove the space bofore .com
You can use both odin and twrp but if you want to stay stocked try odin mode.
If none of the above files worked for you look for other modems.
Odd that you can connect note 8 to kies3.. and not switch..

Flashed COMBINATION_FA71_N950FXXU1AQK2 Factory binary from 2 sources along with HOME_CSC_OXM. No improvement. :crying:
so your phone is soft bricked. Its less of an issue since you have access to:
-recovery
-dl mode
go to updato.com and grab about 3 different stock firmwares.
1-the oldest one compatible with your phone you can find. forget about your region just be sure its an early FW and its for N950F. f or ds dosent matter.
2-again same as above but try one from south America.
3- same as #1 but from france or north west europe region.
before flashing, enter recovery and wipe data and cashes.
after wipe dont let the phone boot, have it go straight to DL mode.
now use latest odin and flash the firmwares above. if one of the flashes fail in odin Check your cables and usb port if any of the firmware flashes get stuck or give errors. Be sure to flash all BL AP CP and CSC files. for csc I think HOME csc has the pit file so you might also want to try repartition/bootloader update option if nothing else works. Since your phone is probably out of warranty by now.( might want to check if you can simply get it fixed before trying anything of the above first)
edit:
i saw you said having used kies 3 to do the emergency recovery. Im not sure how that were possible. do you mean smartswitch? if you have not used it, then go dl it and do the recovery from smartswitch. I dont even think kies support the note 8.

And this file is flashed via odin til the end - with green PASS? Strange.
Hi mate, i know your feelings.
Ok, i just can tell about my issue. I was on a QK6 custom rom with a QKG bl/modem and fell back in jail So i had to flash stock but only the AP (QK6 bc QKG was at work :angel and CSC file. It booted up with the data of the custom rom and worked quite good. Except the gallery. So i decided to flash the QK6 bl/modem. The flash with odin crashed at the bootloader part. The phone booted without connections, no imei, no baseband...an exclusiv paperweight.
I tried a lot all a disaster. I searched for imei repair with the intencion to pay a lot of money but nothing. Even imei gurus said it's impossible for now to fix the imei for the note 8 with knox 0x1 by software.
Last thing i thought before i went crying to bed was the incomplet flash of the bootloader. So i downloaded over night the whole QKG package and flashed it in the morning.
AND all was fine again. I think the culprit is the Bootloader you can't downgrade from QKG. In the Iron Rom thread are the same issues after flashing the QK6 Bootloader with the rom over a QKG bootloader - all have lost there imei and baseband. They also fixed it than by flashing QKG BL (and modem).
This was my story and i hope it would help to fetch your problem.
I have same problem with your case, its made me sick 1 day but here is my success solution worked like charms !!
1. Download newest stock firmware via SAMFIRM ( for me i used XXVN code) extract it you will have AP and CSC using on this case
2. Download BL and CP via this link: (remove space before .com) You will have BL and CP
androidfilehost .com/?w=files&flid=244051
3. Open Odin chose BL, CP download from Androidfilehost. AP and CSC form stock firmware
Flash them and your Note will be back !! Reply me if u success !!
Ps: This case will upgrade ur blootloader to BRA2
And i heard that cant be rooted again, however my Note 8 is undead so im gonna sell it away better than bricked
Good luck from VietNam
Nice !!!! Its worked !! after i got check fail device 3, binary 2. I could flash ap,cp,csc but BL so now my Note is back to stock

Hi all, I have this A71 that yesterday was working just fine, and today is in bootloop for no reason at all.
The owner was as smart as to keep tons of important stuff on that phone with no backup, so I have this request: is there a way to pull anything out of there?
I can access stock recovery and fastboot.
I am really sorry to hear that you can maybe try to install twrp and recover the files with "adb pull" or accessing the phone storage via a pc (you need to have twrp installed) i don't know any other way besides this. If i helped you make sure to like my response
Solved simply flashing different version of stock ROM.

hello did you manage to keep all your data? i'm new i found the correct firmware for my phone , i have samsung odin.... do i just flash? it states that i will loose all info
Yes, everything saved.
Got the firmware from sammobile, flashed with Odin and retained everything: apps, settings, data, photos....
Just be sure to flash the HOME_CSC file and not the plain CSC, or it'll wipe all.
