I would install Global Dev ROM 7.2.16 miui_MI5Global_7.2.16_ab1851be8e_7.0.zip in TWRP (last version 3.0.2-3) but after installation, my phone not boot to system it stuck at mi.com screen.
If I flash other custom ROMs then everything is OK
Does this mean that I can't install official MIUI zip files in TWRP?

This has been discussed many times. Do not flash stock miui rom with TWRP. Use Miflash tool instead.
in the setting
choose the 'support official update'
@muchlas46
I can't use Miflash because if I will flash this file using Miflash then TWRP will be overwrite.
And If I would do that and then install again TWRP it will be asking me in first entry to decrypt data so I have to format freshly installed Global Dev ROM so I'm back in start point.
I would have TWRP, unlocked bootloader(have it) and GLOBAL dev, so to do that?
https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-5/development/tool-flashable-firmware-twrp-easy-t3474898
flash "Latest one -> Developer 7.2.9 Firmware:",then flash custom ROM(ex:Lineage OS)
I don't wan't custom ROM, I want to install official ROM from this e.g Global dev :
http://en.miui.com/download-299.html#443
anh have this official ROM with TWRP as recovery, is any hint to do this?
I want the EXACLY same thing LOL and i try everything but i cant have TWRP and Global dev, sorry i just wait with you for one solution.
I have idea how to do this but I'am afraid bricking my phone
Inside official fastboot file, after extracting is folder "images" inside is recovery.img file - this is stock recovery.
It could be maybe possible to replace this file to twrp file and leave it with the same name, then during Mi-flash will be TWRP installed instead stock recovery.
1. flash the firmware given above.
2.nougat miui often doesn't boot with only a clean twrp flash, that's why you have to flash the nougat firmware posted above.
else
1.flash 6.11 marshmallow global beta.
2.reboot
3.now flash nougat beta
Do i need any of oneplus firmware to flash a custom rom ( for example freedomos) or firmware are only required to flash lineageos?
Usually the recommended FW is in the ROM OP. You can get the flashable zip of the required FW on XDA. Flash it, reboot back to Recovery, and Flash the ROM.
For example which firmware i have to flash for the latest nougat freedomos?

FreedomOS is based on stock ROM, so, firmware is included in package, you don't have to deal with it.
Perfect, thanks a lot.
Please help me. I can't seem to understand what exactly I need to do in order to install a custom ROM on my K20 Pro (Global 10.3.5.0.) I have tried following this (https://forum.xda-developers.com/k20...0-pro-t3953844) post thoroughly and others as well, but can't seem to exactly understand what I am required to do. Most custom ROM's state [Raphael], but as I purchased this device in India, it would most probably be [Raphaelin], after unlocking the Bootloader and installing TWRP, am I supposed to flash a Custom ROM (for ex. Lineage OS) directly or would I have to install a ROM which would make my device [Raphael]? Vendor and Firmware have gone over my head, I do not understand what I need to di. If someone could help me out, It would be mean a lot. Thank you.

If you're running stock MIUI and haven't moved to any custom MIUI's till date then you can straight away flash LOS. Moreover, most of the custom roms work on multiple vendors irrespective of whether it is a China Vendor or India or Global. It doesn't matter till the time the developer specifically asks you to be on a particular vendor.
Vendor isn't a dreaded thing. It's just the drivers needed to run the various components in the device (BT, WiFi etc). Till the time you don't wipe the vendor partion in twrp, you would always be good to go. You could carry on flashing custom roms w/o careing about the vendor.

Thank you very much for your reply. So, just to check if I have understood correctly. I can just install TWRP and then flash Lineage OS straight away, right? I checked (https://forum.xda-developers.com/k20-pro/development/rom-lineageos-16-0-t3965311), and it mentioned:
Instructions :
Download the latest build and GApps
Reboot to recovery
Flash proper vendor and firmware
Flash the latest build and GApps
Reboot
What is "proper vendor and firmware"? And would I also be required to flash this?
Thank you.

Go back to the Lineage instructions and read immediately below that. It starts P.S.
It explains exactly proper vendor and firmware means.
No you won't need to install anything for this step

Nope ! You don't need to flash vendor + firmware as you already running an untouched stock MIUI build. That is for people who are coming from either modified MIUI builds (EU, Miroom etc) or custom roms with a different vendor (India device running on China Vendor)
Custom roms don't carry the Vendor Firmware files and you can only modify the existing Vendor when you move to other region stock or custom MIUI roms.
Back up your data on Internal storage to a safe place either on a PC or OTG. Skip this step if you have nothing important.
Boot In TWRP
Wipe System, Data , Cache , Dalvik
(Don't reboot at this point, Not Even a Recovery reboot)
Flash LOS
Flash GApps
Go to Advanced Wipe and Format Data by typing Yes
Reboot

Did you do FORMAT Data (not just Wipe) when you installed your custom ROM, and before rebooting?
Hi all,
After few weeks in LOS 17.1, I want to get back to the stock recovery and realmeUI.
I have a Realme X2 Pro Global version (Europe) and I tried already to reinstall stock rom, but didn't works. TWRP failed to decrypt .ozip file (manuforio's verison). I re-downloaded the .ozip file in realmeui official site but same error.
I tried also to use TWRP older version with the python script to decrypt ozip before use in twrp, but twrp can't install this file.
Also, I tried to use different procedures to get back stock rom, but didn't work.
However, where can I find the official and last version of the stock recovery img ? I didn't find this file in the ozip archive (I have no backup of this file).
What is the way to get back to stock phone ? Is it possible at this time ?
Thanks you in advance.
I think best way would be to use realme's flashtool to flash latest stock fw

So, I got back to the stock realmeUI. Yeah !
But, now, I'm unable to find the stock recovery C.31 to reinstall it.
I finded an older recovery.img (Color OS) but it's not the last realmeUi recovery img.
EDit : After OTA update, recovery was updated.
Thanks you.

i also have this problem lease help me...
Hello everyone,
I currently use the stock ROM + WirusMOD Nethunter modified Kernel and Magisk on my SM-G781B/DS.
I installed it quite a while ago using TWRP. I'm still on Android 11 and I'd like to upgrade my system. OTA doesn't work, and I decided to just wipe and completly re-install the stock rom. The Magisk installation guide recommends patching the AP of the ROM over flashing via custom recovery. A custom recovery prohibits OTA upgrades as far as I know, so I would prefer to just keep the stock recovery.
So this is what I planned:
1. modify freshly downloaded stock ROM with Magisk
2. *somehow* install kernel in stock ROM if possible?
3. flash via ODIN
4. finish Magisk setup
I couldn't find that much information and I'm fairly new to rooting in general. So here are the questions I have:
1. Is it possible to flash a custom Kernel without custom recovery, if it is, how?
3. Will OTA updates be accessible with the custom Kernel?
4. Is there another way or did I miss something obvious?
Thanks for any feedback in advance.
you definitely can't flash an AP archive with a custom recovery.
a custom kernel is designed to be flashed by a custom recovery unless it's a single IMG file inside the zip for it.
there's a sizeable chunk of us who manually flash updates, redo twrp, flash a magisk patched boot.img with twrp (once it's been extracted from the AP archive (using a PC app that supports .LZ4 compression)) and then flash a custom kernel finally... every month!
using something like Swift Backup to save apps n data, messages etc helps cut down the misery a bit.

the trend seems to be that it's not getting easier sadly.
