I had installed Pixel Experience ROM previously. Upon install, I noticed that my SD card was wiped off, after I booted my phone. All my data of past 10+ years was wiped off and I tried several softwares, but I couldn't recover anything. Nonetheless, I moved ahead with whatever I had and there was an update yesterday and again my data got wiped off. I had collected pictures, songs and lots of other things from whatever sources I could and now it's gone again... Somebody, please help!!

i have been running damagecontrol 2.0.8 and over the last few days had some weird forced closes and then last night my sense clock and stuff dissapeared. When trying to go into settings - > application management it would force close also. So i downloaded the damagecontrol rom again, put on my SD, went into recovery and wiped everything. For some dumb reason i also wiped the SD card.
so i put the rom back on SD, and flashed. nope, i didnt nandroid after deleted it. OOPS! and of course im an idiot and didnt ever copy my nandroid to PC
so anyways, i have flashed the rom a few times now and im stuck in a never ending HTC/Sprint boot up loop. I've tried everything I can think of and nothing will boot the phone.
Any ideas or am i screwed?
Nope youre bricked......
ok so do this:
Make sure you wipe everything, sd card included (0 for ext, 0 for swap, all for FAT)
The copy the rom back to the phone and flash again...
Worst case is to run the RUU1.56.
Oh yeah post this in general next time.
Mods will probably move it - if so thats where your thread went.
lol your NOT bricked. Bricked means no way to recover. If you can still get to your recovery screen your fine. Like the last post says boot to recovery go to the wipe screen and wipe every category Data / sd extension / other ones arent really necessary. Pick a ROM put it on your card flash and enjoy. oh then MAKE A BACKUP!

Forgot my <Sarcasm> </Sarcasm> tags again
power off, remove your sd card, and power on.
You most likely have something screwy in your ext partition.
Had this same issue...
I wiped everything (factory reset, davlik cache, etc)...flashed the ROM again. Had no luck. My phone came back for about 2 minutes...and was running insanely slow and freezing up after every button press. Tried running a nanoid restore...with no avail. I ended up getting my phone replaced with a reconditioned model. And it actually feels better than the new one I was using, lol.
I don't know what peoples problems with a reconditioned piece of equipment is. If I have the option to buy refurb at a store I do - simply put: A company cannot afford to test EVERY thing that is spit of the production line, they grab every say 100th one.
IN THEORY:
Each and EVERY refurb is tested and inspected, so its really almost garunteed that you will get a better product. Unless of course the QA person is a moron/lazy - which actually maybe the case with refurb heros...have seen a few horror stories.
I had something like this happen too. It would get stuck on the boot screen in a loop. I was able to get into recovery, but it could not read the SD card at all. I had to format the SD card and flash a new rom. I'm wondrering if it's because I dropped the phone and that cause the SD card data to be corrupted.
Hi guys I wanted to go ahead and reload a different ROM. I had purehero 2.1 MOC (maps-oced) but I heard that the nonclocked version has better stability with wi-fi. I went ahead and tried to downgrade the rom without wiping and everything booted up fine. However wi-fi tethering was still not working I kept getting an error about unable to start wifi tethering etc. I went ahead and tried many roms (pure hero/alysious) all that wouldn't require wipe. I still kept getting same error. I went ahead and went to recovery I did a factory wipe/loaded rom and it just stays on the nexus X cross as if it's trying to boot but it doesn't it just keeps recyling over and over again. I went back to recovery and wiped data/factory and also dalvik cache ( i have a2sd enabled) then retried loading rom and same thing. I'm at the moment of wiping all mentioned plus eXt2 and reloading rom AGAIn. I hope this time it boots up.
Will something in my SD card possibly have my phone acting up the way it is? If so what solutions do u guys suggest? I hope after doing the last step I mentioned I can FINALLY log into my phone. At the moment i'm unable to do so. My aim name is crown510. If any of u can assist me I would appreciate it. Thank you!
Hi I am new to the Android market. I bought a Captivate last May read as many posts on how to flash a new rom to my phone. I flashed Firefly 3.0 to it in June. Everything was fine until a week and a half ago. I'm not sure what caused this, there was an update to TB that I downloaded, but I also deceided to change my boot animation to the Dark Blue. I did this but then deceided I liked the stock theme better and changed it back after a day or so. When the battery was low I put the phone on to charge over night, when I turned the phone on it went in to a boot loop. I put the phone in to recovery and re installed the rom.zip. The phone started to work again but was acting strange, so when I got home I re rooted, flashed back to stock and re installed Firefly 3.0 TB restored the phone, but when I set my ringtone and notifications etc, they would not save after I turned off the phone. I reset all thge ringtones and notifications and they stayed this time but |I now cannot download any apps or update apps, I keep getting out of memory error, even though I have about 11gb of memory on the internal sd and about 6gb on the exteral card. I apologize if this has been covered but I could not find any posts with the exact same issues. I'm reluctant to flash the rom again out of fear that I will have even less memory. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Try, rebooting into recovery. Wipe cache and under advanced, wipe Dalvik cache. Reboot phone and wait while it rebuilds cache. Then go into applications. Find market and wipe data. When restoring from TiBu also make sure your not restoring SYSTEM data when you restore your apps.
Thanks for your help! I was able to download the swype beta again. I can't restore some of my old apps like ebay won't install, but new apps will, can't figure that one out. Thanks again for your help I really appreciate it!
I rooted my Note 3, and was fiddling with some stuff (xposed, viper, selinux mode changer, if that means anything selinux didn't work, but I got viper working). I turned it off, took out the battery, SD card and simcard to let it cool off a bit. When I put everything back in, I realized I didn't unmount the SD card. Now my phone doesn't recognize any SD cards at all. Checked with 2 others (all sandisk 64 gb) on my mac and my mac could read them all. Phone didn't even start back up. Just got to the Samsung GALAXY Note 3 sign and bootlooped. Couldn't even get into recovery mode. I then took out the battery and sd card, put in only battery. Phone starts up like a charm. Put in the SD card, try to mount it, doesn't recognize. Phone immediately turns off and goes into bootloop again. Oh, btw, 'Mount SD Card' is greyed out this whole time, regardless of whether SD card is in or not.
Today, I flashed NC2 via odin, still the same problem. Updated via ota to OC1, same problem. oc2, same problem. wiped everything, cache, in between each update. Now I am considering using Flashfire to wipe everything it can and then flash a OC1 ROM. Not sure what is going wrong. How can I wipe everything and install from scratch other than what I've already done?
Do you guys have any idea how to solve this? What should I do? I am still a noob in rooting (other than odin, flashfire), recoveries and don't really know how they work (ie, twrp or cwm). Thanks in advance for your help.

Hello everyone, I'm new to this platform, hope you guys will bear with my limited knowledge and help me out.
So, I have a Moto E4 plus device which was working fine, until one day, I used up its entire battery and it switched off. I took it and put it on charging, not knowing what was about to happen. When the battery was charged to 70% or something, I started the phone and unlocked it, but in like 10 seconds, it restarted automatically. I didn't download anything, never rooted the device, it was in original condition. Now, the phone is stuck in restart loop. Every time I restart the device, it works for 5 seconds, and then it goes in a loop of restarting again and again. I went to the recovery mode, backup up all the internal data in an SD card. The backup shows 13 files of 2GB each with an extension ".backup". I don't know how to access them.
Then, I did a hard reset and it worked just fine with no issues at all. Now, I need those files as they are very important for me, considering they have the last memories of someone I lost (not playing the emotional card, I hope you might feel the depth of the situation). Can anyone please help with accessing these files?
1. I did restore the files from recovery mode from that SD card, but the same issue reappears again.
2. I have all the 13 files copied with me in my PC
3. I tried wiping cache partition, it doesn't work
Need one of the two solutions
A. How to access these backup files, considering they are 13 files of 2 GB each with ".backup" extension
B. Accessing the files in recovery mode (the phone gives only a 5 seconds window which is eaten up in unlocking the screen)
Kindly give a solution which a layman can understand , hope you understand.
PS, I never even turned the developer's option on & the data is important, not the phone
Thank you!

Most likely that they are only usable to recovery that they were created with.
Was this Twrp? or stock recovery?

It was stock recovery, but I have my phone accessible in that state also. Is there any possibility to create a custom backup without actually booting up the phone or accessing those stock recovery files?
