Hello guys I've moto x verizon rooted and boot loader is unlocked. It isn't developer edition. Sim card doesn't work. I am out of USA (Pakistan) so every network here is GSM. but it isn't reading gsm card. It used to work but not now.
I am using 5.1 lollipop carbonrom. I even flashed 5.1 update of xt1053 once. So guide me tk make gsm working again

Hi there, first of all you should go to Settings> More networks> Mobile networks, then you hit on roaming and then you select "Always allow data roaming".
If by any chance that doesn't work, try to put the SIM card in another device to make sure it works. BTW how did you unlocked your bootloader? I've the same model as you and I'm having a hard time trying to find a way to unlock my bootloader

im still on 4.4.2 btw. havent flashed anything custom

Yes I had tried enabling always allow data roaming and choose the mode at LTE/GSM/UMTS. it still didnt works
have you find the solution? me too in the same case now.after update my xt1060 to verizon lolipop, i cant use my sim card from national provider (indonesia telkomsel):crying:

i had xt1056 with sim lock
i flashed 4.4.4 stock sprint rom (sim was also lock there)
i flashed 4.4.2 modem files
then just use nv item reader software & flash all 3 text files (no spc code needed).
got no error .. reboot & all sim worked . 3g 4g worked

Guys i am from pakistan and i have motox xt1060 working properly just i update kitkate to lollipop and there is sim error invalid sim card show.

I m currently using indian variant of moto x (xt1052) which was initially launched with 4.4.2 onboard in india.
After a lot of research i found out that even jellybean firmware is available for it and so by using fastboot along with xt1053's firmware , i successfully downgraded from 5.1 to 4.2.2 but a foll. problem occured:-
I was able to get network but LTE data wasn't working even when turned on for a long period of time and so can you please suggest me some twrp flashable modems for xt1052 which can run data perfectly on my moto x on jellybean firmware?

Did you try the code *#*#4636#*#* from dialer app???
In that menu you can change the Prefered network type. Give it a try and tell me if it helps you.

Usually the phone wont get a signal until you have activated the sim. I have same phone and no signal with sim inserted until activated by freedom, for instance.
