I have been checking out XDA for years as I used to work with an OS called "Windows CE" and loved making devices, everything from Arcade machines to Zune . When Microsoft killed the last Windows Phone, I officially moved to Android. However, I had already been playing with the OS and building apps as (well as watching all the fun Mod ROM discussions over the years). I thought I joined in the past but I have lost that connection so here I am again, a newbie, facing the challenge of moving from my Huawei P20 Pro to a P40 Pro that lacks Google services and back to flashing hardware and crossing fingers.
Sincere thanks for all the great posts and helpful folks on these XDA forums!

Hey all, I'm Nirave. I've been a member of the forums since the late 2000s during my Windows Mobile days. I still remember how many times XDA helped me fix my Xperia X1 and the early days of my foray into Android.
Since 2009, I've been writing about technology. I used to run a UK site, and prior to joining the leadership team at XDA almost a year ago, I worked for Mobile Nations, Future, and Android Authority. I help direct all the content that's published across our family of websites, as well as the boring wider company stuff!
I've used pretty much every flagship launched over the last 8 years and always carry at least two phones. One is an iPhone, one is an Android phone. Oh, and I love foldables – my arsenal includes the Z Fold 2, Mate Xs, and ThinkPad X1 Fold!
Glad to meet you Nirave! I also had some Window Mobile device's which were a blast from the past!

Other things to know about Nirave: he doesn't sleep, he is a great cook (if you like a killer curry), and he likes to buy more phones than he actually needs or will ever use (ahem, I think he learned that from me...).
I know many other secrets about Nirave that I'll undoubtedly reveal over time. xD

I haven't been around the modding scene for long, since I only got my first smartphone in 2015, but I have enjoyed it a lot since then, currently the proud owner of various android devices including my main driver, Google Pixel 4a. I'm pansexual too and I'm currently in a wonderful relationship

Hi there,
I'm the proud owner of a Samsung Galaxy S10e. My problem is that it's been manufactured for the US market (XAA-XAA-ATT) and that I currently live in Madagascar! So my main topic of interest wil be related to updating my device manually, as I don't have access to OTA updates.
I've always liked to tinker with my electronic devices (XBOX360, Nintendo Wii, custom PCs, even iPhones even though I'm not an expert. Been lucky so far, I've never bricked a device.
I discovered the XDA community a couple of days ago while looking for ways to update my Smasung from OS10 to OS11 (in which I have been successful) and I quite liked it here, so here I am creating an account.
Thanks in advance, and I look forward to contributing and exchanging experiences.
Hello, community. I joined the community to be able to participate in discussions, ask questions, learn about customizing mobile devices, and suggest about stopping auto play videos on the site. Ok, while that last one is something I did, it is really not my purpose here. Hoping to learn and discuss and explore. Thanks!
P.S. I own or have owned several LG Vxx phones, two Galaxy S2x Ultras, a Nord N10, three Lumia Windows phones, a BB Bold 9000, and several Nokia flip phones. I love to try new things, such as comes with being a part of beta tester teams and insider channels and all that. Cheers!
Hi guys. I'm just the guy who likes to try new apps. I have a pixel 5. Plus I have an idea for an app but I don't have the skills to make it.
