Hi there, just got SGS but kinda disoppointed with its Tv out quality. Ok I know its standard tv not the HDMI but the videos I saw on YouTube, the playing movie looked so awesome but on my display (LG 23" LCD TV) 720p videos looks ugly and not evrn full screen ... Can anybody have idea how to play videos in full screen mode on tv?
Overall it's a great phone though

For full screen make sure your video player is in the right mode (I use Zimly which has 3 different display modes). Also your LCD may have different options for keeping aspect ration, etc... look to see if it has an 'auto adjust' option.
I love being able to just carry a small cable and be able to watch on the big screen whenever I'm in a hotel, etc..
Ah i see. I'll try different video players. Thanks

i just got a sharp LC-40le810un back in oct 2011, and for some reason "sometimes" my movies will turn into cartoon (the faces will wash out and look all cartoony looking and the backgrounds to) but this has only happen on 2 movies. it happen once watching netflix in HD on my xbox thru HDMI, (watching conan the barbarian the old one) and watching a movie on my HDD on my xbox (emily rose) should i be worried? it seems it only happens on my xbox while watching movies, on video games it has never happen and watching tv on my direct tv box (non HD) it does not happen
I'd have it replaced.
Don't worry about it, if it's only happening with certain material/movies.
HD TV has come a long way, but it's still not perfect.
I have a home theater PC via Windows Media Center. It has Netflix built in. We watch streaming on it all the time. I'm very happy with the picture quality.
But... The quality of Netflix via Chromecast is stunning! Truly stunning! It rivals Bluray. I was blown away by it. Good job Google and Netflix.
believe the same SoC chip(cpu, gpu), or it's cousins (Marvell 88DE3010), are in 3D bluray players too

It's possible. But, at the Google announcement, they said that this was the first implementation of 1080p for Netflix.

So after spending all of time in the oculus cinema, watching twitch and movies. A thought came to mind. Why can't I play 2d games in a 3d environment. For example, playing gta 3 on the big cinema screen. I was iffy about PlayStation vr until I realized Sony is probably planning this. Playing some destiny on the big screen would be real enjoyable. Any ideas if these ideas are already being developed?

Well you can if you have a modern NVidia GPU you can use StreamTheater
It will show your PC screen in an Oculus cinema like app.

Damn i run an all amd rig, guess that's why I never thought of that. Now that you mention it I do remeber something about it. Oh well, not gonna buy a $200 card just to stream games.

Hi there, I recently purchased a 2016 Honda Civic, so far AA seems to be working pretty good with my Nexus 5, sometimes a little laggy but overall good. I was wondering how I would go about watching video on the LCD screen (obviously while the car is in park!). I'd love to be able to watch a movie or TV show viewing it on the touchscreen and playing through the decent sound system this car has. Thanks!

I would really like to know as well, haha.
It's not as simple as putting a movie file on your SD card and navigating to it with a file browser?

Nope, Android auto only lets you use specific apps with it.
