Alright guys i have got a galaxy s. Have got some issues with my galaxy basically i have been using rom manager i was running rombie v_2a via rom manager with clock work mod installed then my phone ran out of battery one day. So i picked up the phone plugged in charger and the phone loads with a round circle then the picture of the battery will show up and then the phone turns off. So i left the phone to charge for a while it kept showing a pic of the battery on start up then totally turning off again. So tried recovery and it wont boot into recovery. But it will boot into download and odin detects the phone. Flashed the phone booted me into froyo after flash but as soon as i turn off the phone it does the same thing again round circle picture of battery then off. I can flash the fone and all runs fine as soon as i turn it off i get the reboot problem anyone got any ideas cheers wattsy1612
can anyone help i got no recovery but i have d/l mode the fone will launch only from clean flash it will only boot if auto reboot is ticked in odin with clean flash i had clockwork but ssems the phone stopped booting evertime power is lost
Still cant reboot my phone totally screwed it will reboot if i tick auto reboot in odin after flashing from download mode but if i simply turn it off it just wont boot it just goes too white loading circle and shows a picture of the battery and then just powers off i cant enter recovery anymore either only download mode can any one help me out pls guys
That icon means kernel is screwed. See if u can flash eclair jm8 using pit 512 as its a known good state to start with. Also its the recommened rom to use before flash to froyos

icky boo have tried what you said and still the same mate no recovery and no start up like i say if auto reboot in odin is ticked the phone will boot any ideas mate
That's how I updated and recover when ever a kernel update fails. Maybe your phone is actually screwed. Can you enter recovery mode? Using vol up instead of vol down. If you can means your bootloader still works.

Also there seems to be a lot of problems with Canadian i9000m phones with internal memory dying. Uf you have one of them that maybe the reason

I just bricked my I9000
my I9000 had the 3B problem and last day i decided to unlock it.so i connect it to my PC and use odin to flash "Aries_P-SBL.tar.md5".everything went right before i click the "start"
but when i clicked "start",it began flashing and stucked at "downloading SBL.ini",it was strange because it can download BOOT.ini normally.so i had to disconnect and when i power on i saw phone-!-PC.
i tried connect 301K resister between microUSB's 4 and 5th pin and it worked well, the phone succeed into the DLM.
BUT...it still cant flash the second file "SBL.ini" into the phone,it just stucked!
then i tried to flash a ROM into the phone and obviously,it stucked at the second file,i forget what the file was.
when the last time try to unlock my phone,i didnt select "bootloader update",
SO.....now i have a perfect brick,with no response,no logo ,no phone-!-PC,just a BRICK
what i wanna know is:why my phone always stucks at flashing the 2ND file.
CAN ANYBODY LET ME KNOW THAT???
THX...
Hi.
Basically , I Know NOTHING about all this 'flashing' roms and what not. I got this phone from a friend , and was aware that it had custom firmware or something on it. Due to the phone being severly slow , and constantly displaying errors along the lines of "the process com.android has stopped working" when I was trying to call or text somebody , I thought i'd have a play about with some settings in recovery mode thinking this was the way to restore back to custom out of the shop firmware (stupid i know). All I remember doing was clicking through a few menu's in the green text recovery mode screens and clicking "disable lagfix". I then got some form of error at the bottom , and the phone froze. I took out the battery , tried to re-boot it and it's getting no further than the very first screen with the "Galaxy S Samsung" etc etc.
I know this probably sounds stupid to some of you phone wizards on here , but i'd appreciate any help you could give in the simplest terms for somebody who has no clue about this whatsoever. If I was able to fix this , how would I also go about completely making the phone like it was brand new? No custom firmwares or Roms or anything along those lines?
Thanks very much in advance!
Ben.
well, if it kud b that the problem is caused coz u disabled lagfix. you could try re-enabling it and see whether you can get the phone to boot. to do that:
> shut-down the phone completely,
> hold down the VOLUME UP + HOME + POWER buttons simultaneously till the phone powers up and then let go,
> hopefully this will get you beyond the "galaxy S" screen and into recovery mode,
> from recovery mode re-enable the lagfix that you disabled earlier, then re-start the phone and see if it boots properly,
> if it does, shut-down the phone again, come back to recovery mode (as above) and perform a hard re-set (the options should be something like wipe data/factory reset in recovery mode) and restart phone - the general slowness and the errors u were getting were most probably from the apps that were installed in the phone. so, if u get rid of em all n re-install only the ones u r going to need, then this wus solve the issue,
Hope this helps,
Cheers,
HI thanks for your reply.
Im able to get into download and recovery mode. I though enabling the lagfix again would work , however , there is no option to enable it. Just to disable it again as though I never did it in the first place. Ive also tried wiping all cache's and factory restoring the phone , but it's still not going past the Samsung Galaxy S screen.
Any ideas?
how long are you letting it boot up for before switching it back off ? i have a few apps no more than 35. it takes the phone 10-15 mins to boot after disabling lagfix..
if your phone had lots more apps and music pics ... whatever. it could take even longer to convert all files back to rfs.. dont suppose you know what ROM is / was on the phone ?? do you / did you hear a robot voice when the phone boots ??
I've left it for hours. Still no luck getting past that screen. What can I do?
I have no idea what Rom it was , and there was no robot voice.

Oh wow , lengthy process!
Will try it all and report back to here to let you know how it goes.
Thanks!
Having a problem when I connect the phone to PC in download mode. Odin says "added" when the phone is on the Galaxy S screen , however if i then switch to download mode it says "removed" and wont detect the phone. Same if I have the phone in download mode before connecting.
Bumping for advice.

have you done a full factory reset in recovery mode ?? its strange whats happening to you. as if the phone can get into download mode then theoretically Odin should see the phone...
if you can get into recovery mode use every option to wipe the phone.. e.g full factory reset, wipe cache, wipe dalivk cache, then try again and post back
EDIT: also you could try format sd card (internal) this way there wont be a single thing left on the phone that could cause issues...
Odin wont recognise the phone when it's in download mode , only when it's on the boot screen.
I've factory reset it , wiped caches and formated the internal SD card. Still no luck getting past the Galaxy S Screen.
Open Odin select files .
Go to download mode on phone you should now have a big yellow icon
Connect usb cable
First block on Odin lights up press start Odin runs goes to blue phone reboots .
Is that your sequence of events ??
No.
The phone isn't recognized by Odin when it's in download mode , so i'm not even able to start the flash.
I open Odin ,
Select the Files ,
Put phone to Download mode and connect USB ,
Odin dosn't detect and block dosn't turn yellow.
However ,
It IS detected and turns yellow if the phone ISN'T in download mode. Soon as I switch to download mode , Odin says "Removed" and the yellow icon dissapears.
Can you get to download mode without connecting to Odin
heimdall might be an option

Unable to start the flash on Heimdall also , as it wont find phone.
I am lost wont find phone is usually a USB problem/USB drivers .

The computer makes the usual Beep noise when plugging in a USB device , so it's obviously being detected. It just wont show up in ODIN when in download mode.
My next step would be to remove Kies and any Samsung Drivers .
Then reinstall Kies so you are 100% sure drivers are ok .

All fixed now.
Used a USB port at the back of the computer , and it then worked fine with ODIN for some reason. Re-flashed original firmware and phone is now running much smoother than previously.
Thanks for all your help.
At First,,My samsung galaxy mini used to show charging even when unplugged from charger...after then i made a full factory reset,,,but after the factory reset the phone doesn't boots up...I mean phone gets on showing black screen with nothing on it..and after 2-3 secs it goes off and again restars....this process continues untill i pull my battery out....
I tried to restore its original firmware through odin...but after i press start.. after 20 seconds it says..samsung_bml_format failed and stucks...

First you have to try basic things ...
if you run CWM .. go to recovery mode ..
Wipe Data
Wipe Cache
Reboot Now ...
Doesn't Work ?
Go to Download Mode ...
Flash your Stock ROM again ///
Should work fine now

I'm Jena User .. But I'll do my best with you.

Did you check the files md5?
Hello,
I have this N7000 which was stuck in a bootloop, I attempted to revive it using Odin. So, I downloaded the files below :
1. The firmware - https://drive.google.com/uc?id=0B7ZIHy3JPraRRjlMSmRyS2lqVzA
2. Odin - http://www.mediafire.com/download/7v7zor9d379emeg/AndroidJinn.Com.Odin307.zip
I opened up Odin, Clicked on PDA and I started flashing, however, it get stuck on "nand write start" and after a few minutes it shows an error "FAILED". I unplugged the cable (the phone was still turned on) and pulled out the battery. After that the phone is completely dead AFAIK, it cannot go into recovery nor download mode anymore, it doesn't even show a sign of usb cable or charger being plugged in, and computer doesn't detect it either.
I have no idea how it came to this, I have flashed tons of samsung phones before so I don't think I made a mistake on the process and this is the first time I encounter this kind of brick. If anyone can help me, I'd more than glad to try out your suggestions. Thank you.
maybe your phone is N7000B
