I have tried all the possible APKs I could find online for Android Auto but the result I always get is : 'App Not Installed'.
Is there a solution to this?

I am trying to install the new Google Voice Search app, but I keep getting "install unsuccessful" on Bifs 1.5 Froyo ROM. I'd like to download the apk from the market, pull it to my computer then try installing from ADB, thats worked in the past.
So does anyone know the temp location that the apk downloads to?
There seems to be some issue with signatures on the APK. A workaround is here.
This might be a noob question, but I can't find an answer yet from the search.
How can I download an app from the Android Market *BUT* prevent auto installation, so I have just the .apk (to install later or on another device)?
You could try download exit then search for the downloaded apk .
But seems an odd way to save an apk .

Hi all,
I'd make a silly mistake earlier and I need help. This is what happened:
1) download and installed an apk from apk mirror (Google Phone);
2) the apk installed over the app already installed on my phone;
3) when opening the app, it says "device not supported";
4) download the correct apk but unable to install as app is already installed (the earlier installed apk);
My phone is not rooted (64/128). Any ideas on how to reinstall the correct app without getting the "device not supported" message?
Thank you and any help is greatly appreciated.

Can you try to disable the app and then to enable it back?
There isn't an option to disable the app as it is a system app. However, I'd managed to get this sorted. My solution - factory reset the phone! All is well now, despite the fact that I was unavailable for nearly an hour downloading and reconfiguring all my daily apps
Thanks, anyways.

You can disable system apps, you can't uninstall them
Hi. Can't find any way to do this, anybody know on a Samsung device running 7.1.1 ? Additionally, several installed apps have download location field in settings disabled which is making me think Samsung has somehow prevented modification ? ES Explorer has an option to change download location, but it doesn't make any difference to other apps including Chrome.
