Hello, is there a way to flash TRWP without odin with powershell or command prompt.
My reason following the instalation of Android 12 even before on Android 11 with the update of December 1, 21, I a little more rooted my Samsung s10 exynos G973F than I always rooted with magisk and TRWP then flashing with odin the I stay blocked on System which remains frozen.
So I do not know if google and samsung strengthened the security against the root, I saw a post on this forum which speak precisely of a strengthening of samsung and google.
To know if members in the same concern as me, by following the tutorial these steps the first time that I do it.
Thank

Last week I bought the Galaxy A90 5G (SM-A9080, China version), and immediately searched for ways of Magisk installation.
Indeed there are multiple articles from Google showning the methods. I tried most of them and regretfully all failed.
Even I followed the instruction from this forum, however, I still failed.
This is because of my current model? Because the current version of Magisk is not updated enough? Because of the mechanism of Samsung's Android 9 OS?
I also got the Galaxy Note8 running Android 9, and the way of Magisk installation on Android 8 and previous ones does not work on Android 9.
I do need Root/Magisk due to my requirement, but there is likely a huge barrier preventing me from the Root.
Thus, there is no possible solution?

I own a A908B (German Version) and I'm on Android 10 running Magisk on Stock OS. This is the tutorial i followed and it works. Since there is no Custom Recovery yet the only thing we can do right now is patch the AP-Image of every single update we get... And be prepared to backup everything you have because it's going tor require a full data wipe
Thanks for your advice.
Last night I upgraded my SM-A9080 to Android 10 and managed to get the phone rooted via Odin3.

Hello!
I'm a bit of a noob with the whole Android scene, but I hope to one day be able to fully understand the root process and how magisk works, but as of right now I'm in a bit of a conundrum.
As some of you know, Samsung is pretty rough when it comes to rooting, particularly with the OEM problems and the Knox e-fuse. Dr. Ketan made a fix for the OEM problems, using a special tool which installs magisk 18.
However, I want to upgrade to magisk 20, but I'm not sure if the SM-G965N (S9+, Korean version) can actually run it.
Now, the question:
Does anybody know if I can just install it normally via TWRP like with any other phone? Or I'm stuck on magisk 18 until another developer updates the ketan OEM fix to magisk 20?
And secondly, can I update my phone to Android 10 and still install magisk normally, if the latest version of magisk supports the S9+? A while back they released the Android 10 update in Sammobile, but I don't know if I can flash my phone and still be able to run magisk in it.
Thanks in advance!
EDIT: I used the old Android 8 method (No-verity-opt-encrypt 6.0, RMM Bypass and Magisk 20.3) and it just bricked my device. It was stuck on the Samsung S9+ screen, so that was a no go. Had to revert to my latest backup via TWRP
Hi ,
I have Galaxy Note 8 ( exynos) EU Version wit newest Android 9 Firmware and Security Update.
Is there a way to Install TWRP and Hidden Root Magisk on this device without format all my data?
I have Stock rom and would like to stay with tis room but I need root.
Regards
This had to be posted in Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Questions & Answers . I have already reported the thread for it to be moved. Please @silver_ch be more careful with the forum.
Short answer, No...
When you root phone the security is compromised and all data is deleted so no nefarious people can get your data...
I have a Pixel 5 and today I updated from redfin-2110-rq3a.211001.001-factory-23f4cec2 to redfin-2111-sp1a.211105.004-factory-749e8f9f (yes the Aus version).
All went well until I tried to root the device using Magisk - something I've done *many* times. The trouble is that after I flashed the patched boot.img, the device would not boot - it started to for a few seconds and then went back into fastboot mode.
I've tried a few times but always the same result.
And it seems that you cannot rollback to the October release - the flash-all.sh completes OK but the subsequent boot hangs.
BTW: I'm still using the canary channel, is this still necessary?
Help.
Was that an update from A11 to A12? If so you're gonna have to jump through some hoops...
Either way, this is very likely not a Magisk issue, but caused by some new verification stuff in Android 12, so the best place for you to find info/help is going to be in your device's forum.
Upgrade was from the October version, so, to the best of my knowledge, Android 12
Still, you're likely going to find the answer in the Pixel 5 forums...
Hi, hope somebody can help me, i unlocked the bootloader in this phone because i want to root it, in the past i never really rooted phones unless necessary but never got into the magisk app
The phone is XT1900-4
android 9: PPWS29.69-40-3-1
security patch: 1 september 2019
The phone support is over and wont receive any update anymore
I understand how to install the TWRP, however when i go to the page for download the img and zip, i see this name
twrp 3.6.2_11-0-payton with the proper zip and img files
but down there is anothers ones which say
twrp 3.6.0_9-0-payton with the zip and img files
and even down there other ones without the 9 or 11
So the question is correct me if i am wrong, the ones at top are the most recent ones 3.6.2_11 than the 3.6.0_9 But those two numbers at end, 11 and 9 are because you need to have android 11 for install the 3.6.2? if i am correct then i must flash the one which says 3.6.0_9 since i am using android 9? or has nothing to do what version of android i have and just install the most recent one?
Ive been doing more digging, and just realized Magisk app and Magisk manager have been integrated
So my new questions is...how do i root this phone now? do i still need twrp? or just download the magisk 25.1 and follow instructions?
The first video i saw is this one
but since is using old files(as well any other video), i wanted to use updated files hence i dont know if this video is outdated now or still being the only way for root the phone which will force me to use those old files
Thank you
Ignore this second post in the thread, was a mistake and dont know how to delete, just focus in my question/request
