Well, as the title says, in custom roms for this phone I get lower sound volume than stock. Any way to solve this?

Extracting sounds from stock

Hi guys,
I just wanted to know if it was possible to take sound files from stock HTC sense; I wanted to change my notification sound to one of the sounds they have as default, but the ROMs I've tried don't use sense.
Any ideas?

[Q] Custom Kernel + Original Button Mapping?

I'm currently running ARHD 12.1, and I would like to be able to use a custom kernel without it ruining my ability to remap the Home button in the options menu. I would like to continue to use Long Press Home for menu, or simply have the on screen menu bar, but even if I deselect all of the remap options while installing the kernel, it still removes that option from the rom.
Any suggestions? Am I missing something obvious? Is there a build.prop line or config file I can edit post-flash to revert that option?
"I would like to be able to use a custom kernel" - why? Different custom Kernels offer different thing. Read their descriptions and see which one you like and try it.

I doubt you read the op... Don't try and talk him down if you have no idea what he's talking about
As for op...you can keep your current button settings with a custom kernel.. I suggest faux or flars kernel
And your current setting is there but the option disappears

Hey, thank you for the reply. I guess I'd just not gotten around to trying out Faux yet. Flars ElementalX and Bulletproof both remove the option for me, even if I deselect all the button related options. Going to flash Faux's kernel now and see how it goes!
Oh wow, I didn't know this until now. I guess no matter which kernel I flash, I lose the option from Settings. Normally I flash the kernel at the same time that I flash a rom, but I didn't know that if I boot the rom, change the setting, then flash the kernel, it saves my button mapping even though I lose the option in settings still. That's interesting.

How on earth was I talking down to him? Wow, sensitive much. As obviously it is easy for idiots for misconstrue my what I said I'll clarify my meaning: Because almost all custom kernels include an option for logo2menu, etc which remap the hardware keys I can't think of a single custom kernel which will keep the original button mapping. Thus I asked OP what he wants a custom kernel for, i.e. what features he wants to see if I can find any kernels with just those features. As button remapping is one of the most attractive features of a custom kernel I don't see the reason you'd flash one if not to use one of its main features.

I didn't think you were talking down to me. Personally, the main feature of a custom kernel for me is being able to adjust clock speeds and voltage control. Button mapping is also a plus, though with this phone I enjoy the original button mapping and prefer to use on screen menu options when available. Either way, I got it figured out. My issue was partially stemming from my flashing the kernel at the same time as the rom. If I boot the rom first, then I gain proper access to the on screen menubar or Home Long Press remap control, which I can set to my preference, then flash kernel, and my choice sticks properly.

[Q] Broken camera?!

Hey guys, I have a big problem. I've been using custom roms for a while now but decided to go back to stock 4.1.2 (9.1.a.1.140). Now I have a problem with the camera app...it keeps focusing all the time (like it's set on continuous focus mode) and I remember it wan't like that back when I was using stock (before unlocking bootloader and flashing custom roms). Now...I haven't made a backup of drm keys but I heard they're only used for bravia engine and track ID so they shouldn't really cause problems with the camera. It seems like some stuff got remembered from a custom rom.
I also have some reboots now that I didn't have before using custom roms. Is there any way I can resolve this and restore everything back to how it was? Would locking the bootloader help with the camera?
And can someone who hasn't unlocked bootloader and use custom roms try out the camera and tell me if it's normal that it keeps auto focusing even when not holding the shutter button.

Updated CM and headphone dead

I updated from the shades.sh CM 2016.08.16 to 2016.10.03. In the old version I just can't use the buttons on my phone, but after update the buttons works but there's no sound at all. The speaker works, but all my headphones have the same issue. Is that a common issue in the rom or I just need to perform a factory reset and flash the rom again?

Read the changes... or at least the bug section...
the new build is based on a custom kernel, and at the moment all custom kernels have problems with audiorouting trought headphones. So its a general issue!

It's actually a new feature. It's the same a iPhone 7, the headphone jack has been deactivated in cyanogenmod now.
