Question TWRP unable to decrypt with pattern - Redmi Note 10 Pro

I'm unable to decrypt when starting TWRP installed from https://twrp.me/xiaomi/xiaomiredminote10pro.html
It complains that my pattern is invalid even though It's correct. Anyone else notice this or found a solution?

use only pin or password.

if it doesn't work format data -> yes.

'Unable to mount storage' in TWRP after phone encryption - constant bootloop

Hello All,
It's my first post and already I'm asking for help. I looked for people with similar problem but unfortunately I didn't find the answer to my problem.
Yesterday I rooted my Xperia SP and unlocked bootloader. I decided to flash latest Candy5 5.1.1 rom (candy5-release.v4.1-20151201-UNOFFICIAL-huashan.zip) and latest Gapps (open_gapps-arm-5.1-pico-20160123). Everything was ok until I decided to encrypt my phone.
I set the lockscreen pin and started encryption. After the encryption was completed the phone restarted, went through PIN request to start android and never got home screen. It got stucked on boot animation. I powered it down and entered recovery. I have a latest TWRP v2.8.7.0.
When entering recovery I was asked for PIN which was accepted but I noticed on red line in log. Below is the whole log
Updating partition details...
...done
E:Unable to mount storage.
Full SELinux support is present.
Running boot script...
Finished running boot script.
Data successfully decrypted, new block device: '/dev/block/dm-0'
Updating partition details...
...done
MTP Enabled
I thought that maybe I did something wrong so I wiped Dalvik Cache, System, Cache, data and Internal Storage plus I did Format Data. After data I flashed Candy5 and Gaaps again. This time I decided to encrypt the phone in the first place.
I started encryption. It was completed and the phone booted to SIM card unlock screen. I unlocked SIM card, went to Settings where it was written that phone is Encrypted. After that I went to setup the PIN to unlock the phone and the screen. I restarted the phone, Sony logo appeared, boot animation appreated, request to enter PIN appeared, I entered it and again boot animation appeared but again it was stuck on it. After reseting and going into recovery I'm again receiving information about 'Unable to mount storage'.
Questions to the community: Why I'm receiving information about 'Unable to mount storage' if the PIN used for encryption is correct? Is encrypting device with PIN possible to custom roms?
Any help will be appreciated. I would like to have the phone encrypted but if it's not possible than I will wipe everything and stick with lockscreen PIN only.

TWRP 3.2.1 Failed decryption

I was running TWRP 3.1.1 on my Redmi 4x and i decided to update it to TWRP 3.2.1
I installed the TWRP 3.2.1 by going to recovery>install>install boot image>then install to recovery partition
After i installed it and i booted to recovery, it's already updated to TWRP 3.2.1 but my pattern for twrp is not accepted. Whenever i enter my pattern it will have an error that is failed to decrypt because of a wrong pattern. I didnt even change my pattern from 3.1.1 but somehow when i updated to 3.2.1 my pattern is not accepted.
So now i cant decrypt the internal storage.
Help please

Press back button on the page where twrp is asking for patter then go to wipe then format your data . This should solve the issue .

Enter twrp. After that press back button,, enable mtp on mount. And connect your phone to ext storage. Backup your files and rom. After backup. Just format it,,,
Important: backup rom first than files

How can be data accessed through mtp when partition is not mounted because it is not decrypted ?

differences between encrypted and decrypted?

what changes in installations of new roms, or in creating and restoring backups via twrp?
If you're encrypted your data is very secure as it is encrypted. If you're device isn't encrypted (decrypted) then your data isn't secure and can be easy accessed, even setting a pin or password wont protect your data.
The question is a little vague.

After wiping data, TWRP no longer asks to descypt storage. Cant access files.

I switched over from xiaomi.eu to MI Room. Seemed to work fine until a magisk module uninstall screwed up my ROM and caused a bootloop.
Figured I would do a factory reset, however now Orangefox recovery no longer asks for a decryption password. I know the password, so how do I decrypt my storage?
Thanks
It doesn't ask for a password because the encryption files were deleted so twrp would not know what the encryption data is. But miui encrypts your data when you set your pin/pattern and the userdata remains encrypted when the encryption keys get deleted. The only way is to format userdata.
I also want to know a workaround for this. If you format userdata and flash recovery version of your rom, will your data get encrypted again when you set a password? Because then, any backup made with your data encrypted is unusable. Is data encrypted only on official roms but not for lineageOS etc?

My encryption files actually weren't deleted. I did a factory reset and reinstalled the previous ROM I was encrypted on a few times and somehow it decided to allow me to decrypt my storage again... So I managed to back things up, then format and wipe all storage and flash the new ROM. Working fine since.
Thanks for the help though.

[Solved] How to reset / clear TWRP's password

Hello everyone, I changed my Redmi K20 Pro password but I stopped using it and forgot the password. Is there a way to clear TWRP's password, uninstall TWRP or even change the phone's recovery back to stock? Anything to regain access to the phone. Thanks for the help!

If you mean the lockscreen security password/PIN, then there's no solution that won't allow you to keep the data currently on the phone. The simplest solution is to format the data partition in TWRP. In this case is doesn't matter that you don't know the lockscreen password when entering TWRP. Just hit OK and you'll get a message saying it failed to decrypt the partition, but afterwards you'll still be able to format the data partition.

Thank you Robbo.5000. I had already formatted Dalvik, Cache, System, Vendor, Data and Internal Storage but I didn't pay attention to the Format Data button on the previous screen. Problem solved!
