Question SM-X200 root failed... - Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 (2021)

It's now a bricked tablet after a boot loop, I think should wait to magisk get an update. It won't power on or charge I think. I have two days trying to power on in several times and many key conbinations. No Samsung logo or something. Can I do anything to recover the tab?

I had bootloop after trying to root my A8 as well. I wasn't able to figure out how to root but you can get out of bootloop by entering download mode by holding down the power and volume down keys for a while.
Odin should recognize that you're in download mode, so you can flash the stock AP at that point. This got me out of bootloop.. It won't be rooted but you'll be able to use it.

Yes but after some restarts in bootloop it got hard bricked, I can't get download mode since can't turn this on... I don't know what to do, I tried in many ways turn on.

holding down volume up and volume down while it was boot looping got me to download mode. i just nedeed the wright moment to connect the cable while holding those buttons down. in your situation i have no idea what to do...

After some days I was able to turn the tab on and enter in download mode finally. The battery wasn't seem to be drained I don't know what really happened.

Had the same problems, I just gave up after serval trys

Maybe you could turn your tab on if you leave it some days to rest. After that mine turned on at once.

Oow sorry, I meant that I had al the same problems but stopt trying rooting the device haha

I updated my tablet to X200XXU1AVC1.
Factory reset.
Installed Magisk Manager 24.3
Patched the AP (super.img) file
Used Odin 3.14.1 to flash the patched AP.
I was not fast enough to get to the recovery to factory reset.
That got me a bootloop, then a hard brick.
Several days later, I was able to enter the recovery menu with Vol UP, Vol DN, and connecting the USB.
So, back to flashing my table to X200XXU1AVC1,
Install Magisk
Patched boot.img from the AP file.
Use Odin to flash the boot.img as AP.
Odin was smart enough to download the super.img, add the new boot.img and flash it.
Once again, I was not able to get to recover and factory reset.
Once again, boot loop.
Once again hard brick.
So, any ideas how to root X200XXU1AVC1?

I updated to Magisk Manager Canary, version 24.3.12. Then, once again:
Patched the AP (super.img) file. I did notice
that Magisk patches both the boot.img and the vbmeta.img in the AP file.
Used Odin 3.14.1 to flash the patched AP.
I was not fast enough to get to the recovery to factory reset. I did PWR and Vol Down for 7 seconds o get out of the bootloader. Released, then PWR and Vol Up, but no luck getting into recovery.
That got me a bootloop for a few minutes that I could not break out of, then a hard brick.
I likely have to wait a day for the battery to drop before I can try anything else.

If I remember correctly you need to replace the boot.img instead of super.img, then patch it using TWRP.

As noted above: I tried both naked boot.img patched by Magisk Manager, and super.img as patched by Magisk Manager. Naked boot.img will not work as vbmeta.img also needs to be patched so that boot.img will not be rejected at boot time.
I would love to use TWRP, but, as noted above, there is no TWRP for the SM-X200.

Olá, estou com o mesmo problema que você... Quantos dias de consulta para o tablet dar "Vida" novamente?

Morning! I have the same issue here with my tab A8, same thing, I replaced the vbmeta by the "clean" Google version to install a GSI room, after several bootloops (and me trying to put the tablet in download mode) the tab just gave me a black screen. And nothing more, I had try a couple of days to boot the tab, with and without PC, but nothing at all not even the download mode, any suggestions or ideas?

Same thing happened to me, flashed google's vbmeta and bootlooped out into the wild for one full day, quickly showing "sysdumping now, keep powering on / reset mode:abnormal", just waited until it shut down by itself eventually, then connected to my PC and keep power, volume up and volume down for 4 o 3 boot loops and it eventually went into download mode

Ugh, i patched the whole AP and now my tab is just black. Cant turn it on/off reset, download mode.....nothing. any ideas? It's been 24hours but still nothing.

Hi,
I have a
Samsung Galaxy Tab A8, Android Tablet, WiFi, 7.040 mAh Akku, 10,5 Zoll TFT Displayand would like to root it
is there a tutorial available?
thks

i root this using this method
download same firmware
extract boot.img from ap file then convert boot.img to boot.img.tar with 7zip
after unlock bootloader patch the file
flash file with bl csc and home
after it reset the tab
rooted

i got mine bricked too i just returned everything to stock.
i had to plug usbc to pc open odin and hold vol up and down to return to download mode.
once it actually let me i closed and opened odin again and put the bl, csc home, and the untouched ap and reset it.
i did have to wipe data and factory reset
at least the tablet still works

[Q] Soft Brick issue

Hi,
First time working with a samsung phone, so im not very used to some samsung realted soft.
I'm doing a favor to a friend, he came to this problem where his phone woudnt boot up, He says one day he run out of battery and coudl never turn it on again.
when i turn it on, it gets stucked at boot image (first attached image), if i try to charge the battery image appears but with the loading logo (the loading logo is not moving), he told me that he also tried with another battery and the same appeared.
For what i've read there is a download mode besides recovery mode. I think i have no problem entering download mode (3rd pic), even though i don't know how to use it, pressing a button does nothing, and pluggin it to a pc (drivers installed it) seems the same.
So i wanted to enter recovery mode, and trying o factory reset it, but when i try to enter most of times nothing happens, the others i get weird screen like the one i attached.
I'm not pretty sure how to preceed now. The only thing that appears to be working is the download mode. If that's the case, how can i flahs the stock firmware on it?
Thanks for reading!

You would do the same thing as if it were custom firmware, goto http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/, and download the stock firmware compatible with the device
Enter the device in download mode and flash the stock firmware with Odin
Instructions by SamMobile self:
Extract (unzip) the firmware file
Download Odin v3.09
Extract Odin zip-file
Open Odin v3.09
Reboot phone in Download Mode (press and hold Home + Power + Volume Down buttons)
Connect phone and wait until you get a blue sign in Odin
Add the firmware file to AP / PDA
Make sure re-partition is NOT ticked
Click the start button, sit back and wait a few minute

thanks for the reply, i think i might be doing something wrong, ODIN failed, i attach a screenshot, any idea?
I cannot tell much from the screenshot to be honest, all i can point at would be a newer version of Odin as the instructions told: [LINK TO ODIN 3.09]

Same error as before
im downloading some other firmwares to try, but i dont think there is the problem :s
I've been having this issue for months now. It does that exact thing. Try removing the SIM card and starting the phone as normal and see what happens. If it starts then, we have the exact problem. Mine works perfectly WITHOUT the SIM card but....what's a phone without a SIM card right? I've tried putting the Stock ROM on to no avail as well. I think my thread about this is still somewhere around but I doubt anyone managed to solve the problem either.
If you do work something out post it back. Sorry I couldn't be much help.
E: just posting my thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2778167

Galaxy S10 will NOT boot into Android.

Hi, i recently flashed stock after having LineageOS 17 for some time, and by the time the firmware flashed, everything seemed fine, first it went into recovery and did a factory reset, then it rebooted again, and nothing happened.
If i normally try powering it on with the power button, nothing. not even a bootloop. i can only boot into recovery mode and odin mode. i've reflashed the firmware 5 times now and the same issue still occurs.
and if i try rebooting into system from recovery, literally nothing happens, only black screen. i also tried force reset which didnt do anything and was still on a black screen. (keep in mind, by black screen i mean that nothing shows up on the screen, no logo.)
the firmware is G973FXXU4BTA8_G973FOXM4BTB1_BTU
i hope someone can help me fix this, because its driving me crazy!
Download the latest firmware. Put ur phone into download mode. Shut off the phone, hold volume down and bixby, connect type c connector to the phone and then usb to computer. Load bl, ap, cp home csc. Never factory reset on a custom rom.

i did that countless of times, it just stays on a black screen, but i havent tried doing Home CSC yet, but i assume it'll just stay on a blank screen now
i already got it to work with patching the latest firmware with magisk on another device, but i still need twrp to work, thats my main issue now

G973F Stuck on Boot Screen After Failed BeyondROM Install and TWRP 3.4.0-3 Flash

I believe i've royally screwed up and i want to know if there's anything I can do to save my phone.
I downloaded the latest BeyondROM from here after being on a previous version for about a year (not sure which one I was on):
https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...evelopment-exynos/rom-beyondrom-v6-0-t4017921
I flashed the zip file through TWRP and only after flashing did I realize that I was on TWRP 3.3.1-11 and not 3.4.0-3, which I'm guessing is why my phone is now stuck on the boot logo when I boot it. I went back into TWRP and cleared the Dalvik & standard cache again after this but no dice.
But it gets worse. I then tried to upgrade to 3.4.0-3 by flashing it from TWRP 3.3.1-11 using the recovery partition, hoping to reflash the firmware after doing so.
After doing this and my phone rebooting, not only am I stuck on the boot screen, but now I can no longer enter recovery mode either by holding Bixby + Vol Up + Power. My phone isn't recognized by my PC or Odin now either.
Is my phone completely bricked, or is there a way to salvage this mess i've made?
Could really use some help.
Thanks guys.
If you can go to download mode, try re-flashing the stock Samsung firmware via Odin.

Thanks for the suggestion, however that's my primary issue. I can't get to download mode (which really should be recovery mode since I have TWRP).
Do you think it could be an issue with me rebooting to recovery mode after upgrading TWRP using TWRP itself? Maybe my phone needs to be hard powered off once to access TWRP again?
And since I have that failed ROM install, the only way to power off the phone would be to wait for the battery to drain.

My phone just keeps restarting when Power + vol down are held. Looks like draining the battery didn't help either. I'm stuck on the boot screen even when plugged in with 0% battery. When I remove the USB Cable and hold Vol down + Power, the phone seems to turn off because there's no battery, but immediately after plugging in a power cable, the phone automatically turns on by itself again.
You can try this, but best not to flash anything without charging battery first. You can charge while phone is off:

[Q] Stuck in bootloop after trying to install a custom ROM, unable to detect the device through ADB/Fastboot [Solved]

Title says it all. But for those that want to know a bit more in detail about what's going on, I tried to install this custom ROM: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/rom-oneui-2-5-twrp-ncx-2-5-for-a71-sm-a715f.4174135/ Clearly I did something wrong (a bit more clarification in that guide would help people not used to rooting an Android device getting through that process easier), so now I want to go to square 1 by installing the stock ROM again. But the thing is, after installing multidisabler through TWRP, the phone is not permanently stuck into a bootloop and now I can't even go into safemode, nor download mode, and I can't enter the recovery mode, the only thing my phone is capable of doing is to restart by itself by holding the volume down and the power buttons at the same time, and now ADB nor Fastboot can't detect my device (the PC does a Samsung device being connected though, so it's not a hardbrick, I guess).
Samsung devices do not use Fastboot. You should restore through Odin instead.
Try the following:
1. Download Odin on your computer, you can get it from here. Extract it into a folder.
2. Download the firmware for your device. Find out your device model first and then look on http://samfw.com, I've downloaded from there a lot in the past, it works great.
3. Extract the firmware, you should get five files: AP, BL, CP, CSC, and HOME_CSC.
4. Make sure your device is powered off, and press power + volume down + bixby. You should be asked to confirm you want to enter download mode, press the volume up button.
5. Plug your device into the computer, then select the files for all the slots. Use CSC, not HOME_CSC for CSC (CSC is for fresh restore, HOME_CSC is for software update).
6. A device should show in the top bar, something like [COM:6]. This means your device is connected. If it isn't there, make sure your device is plugged in and in Download Mode.
7. Click flash. The firmware should start to flash and there should be a progress bar in Download Mode. Once it's finished your device should reboot into the system.

Well, trying to reflash everything through Odin has been a thing I tried to do, but how am I supposed to shutdown a phone that is stuck at the Samsung logo (is there any combination to shutdown a Samsung during the boot process?)? And even after that, how am I supposed to press "power + volume down + bixby" if both the power and bixby buttons are the same buttons?

I tried entering Download Mode hours ago, but to no avail. Even before flashing mutidisabler through TWRP (and thus, the phone was working), I had to use ADB in order to make my phone be able to enter Recovery Mode, since the combo for recovery and download mode just made my phone make a loud noise and restart my phone onto safe mode.
Ok, here's an update, apparently pressing those buttons, makes the screen have the same, but at least Odin recognizes the drive, but now I'm stuck at this error: "Complete(Write) operation failed."
Something's weird here, I'm 99.9% sure I did activate USB debugging for this phone, although that was just before wiping the entire drive before the phone got stuck in this loop.
Fixed. Many thanks to @hainguyenthao for helping me out ^^

I'm sorry to hear that you had trouble installing the ROM and I'm glad you were able to fix it.
I unfortunately can't see a way that I could make the tutorial on how to install the ROM any easier. I'm almost certain I covered all my bases going over the perquisites and how to install the ROM. I also have a Telegram group in that thread so that users can join if they are ever stuck in any of the steps so that either me or other users that have successfully installed the ROM can help people in doubt since I'm not available 100% of the time. If you ever decide to give it a try again, don't be shy, you can always join the group and request for help.

MESSED UP!!!!! TWRP FLASH FAILED, STUCK AT AWB FAIL

Hey fellow members,
I tried flashing TWRP on my M31 as anyone would, but I did not have a patched vbmeta file. I did it anyway because I thought I'd be able to restore it using ODIN no matter what. Or at least it was supposed to. But ODIN doesn't recognise the phone anymore. And any idea on how to get the phone to boot into normal ODIN download mode?
