I'm a new user of this phone, previous was OnePlus 8 Pro, same family... Now OnePlus received an update and the OS is becoming more like ColorOS.
I've tested the phone today, heavy usage and VOOC charging and noticed the following:
- when the phone goes over ~40.5° Celsius the refresh rate drops to 60Hz, even if is set to 120Hz, also the charging speed is slower.
- when the temperature drops under ~40° Celsius the refresh rate stays at 120Hz, the charging speed gets faster with the temperature dropping.
OnePlus was keeping the 120Hz refresh rate, but dimming the screen, no NFC, no flashlight and no Hotspot. Is it possible to apply the same "fix" to Oppo when the phone gets warmer?
Any work around? I'm a heavy user and having the screen dropping to 60Hz gets my eye twitching I whould prefer more the fix from OnePlus.
OPPO Find X3 Pro comes with Amoled Soft LTPO and supports dynamic refresh rates from 120Hz down to 10Hz. Will this be ever used on this phone?

Hi,
Im having trouble gaming with my Teclast X98 Air 3G C5J6 while charging.
When I'm not charging it is working fine.
But when charging (with 2.5A charger) I get much higher temperatures:

I get no thermal throttling, it just goes black after a few minutes. It shuts down, and I have to start it up again.
I'm thinking of doing this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7GSfvAbrVVo
Will this help or is it related to something other than the CPU temp?
Thank you!
When you're charging your tablet, the battery inside gets warm so the CPU gets overheating. When i've installed cooper plate it's getting warm less.
I'm not 100% sure what's actually overheating, and id like to know to find a better solution, but you can use a 2 amp charger, or use a long cable to limit the amps and you should be able to stay right under the threshold to be able to game and charge the tablet. I use these cables with the stock charger and I can game while charging (the 6 foot model) http://www.monoprice.com/Product?p_id=9762
While testing charging on the XZ2 I found out that we use the new Qnovo Charging technology which tries to reduce the usage of a CCCV point but adaptive charging.
Another really strange phenomenon was the maximum Voltage.
4.331V
After checking the disassembly video I saw the battery which stated 4.4V....
Sooo... Time for crowdsourcing!
I need your help guys.
Use this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=kr.hwangti.batterylog
BatteryLog, or Ampere, or whichever method you want and take a good look at battery Voltage when you reach around 97-100%
Is the 4.4V on the Battery a fluke? Or do some batteries reach different max Voltage? Let's find out!

Hm. I haven't fully charged the XZ2 yet, but on my LG V20 it also says 4.4V. So I decided to open the back and take out the battery (removable batteries! Such a great thing!) and found Li-Ion Battery 3.85V, and lower down some chinese characters and then 4.40V. No idea what that's supposed to mean... maximum voltage? Anyway, the LG V20 also seems to top out at 4.4V.
- not recommand for competitive games because of screen terrible delay and precision.
- not recommand in hot climate ( it burns when gaming)
- terrible freeze and lag in ui and social apps ( seems better after oct sec update).
- screen dying and freezing mid game (until u turn off your screen).
- when loading images from messenger to send it takes forever to load them.
- terrible slow focuse camera and blurry close range objects. (it focuse on the back but centre is blurry).
True i am super disappointed by the touch response, it even goes haywire sometimes and i have to re open the game

- They fixed the flicking of the screen while playing.
- presision and multitouch improved.
- more smoother experience in ui.
I have the same problem with pubg mobile, I bought it a few days ago and I feel that the touch is not so precise, my problem will not be the screen protector that came when I bought it?
hello guys! what is your experience with android 12?
i cant force gpu anymore when i play games!
when i disable GOS FPS is more unstable and lower!
can somebody tell me what they added so i can disable that and play games like on android 11!
on android 11 when i disable GOS fps is almost locked on 60 FPS all the time, temperature is much bigger but performace is best!
Never update especially when new phones come out. They are just slowing down the phone so you will be obligated to get new ones.

Click to collapse
it may feel that way to you but it's not true.
Nothing much, almost no new functions except the privacy centre and those useless color palletes.
Phone feels laggy if you have animations disabled. The 120Hz while powersave hack no longer works and I miss this menu (OneUI2).
I'm waiting for lineage OS

I just got my S23 a couple of days ago. Yesterday when I was in a restaurant, the phone got really warm. To the point of being uncomfortable to hold. I managed to take a screenshot of a sensors app and it showed that it was in the 43°s one of the sensors even got to 73°C (Tho idk what that sensor is)

It's gotten warm a couple of times now, but so far it'd never gotten as hot as that screenshot. All the reviews I've seen said that this phone never gets hot, so I'm not sure what's happening here.
Not something I've experienced with my S23 Ultra. It's possible an app is misbehaving and keeping the CPU active.
Go to settings/Battery and Device Care when if it happens again and see if there are any battery or security issues.
Also you could install Good Guardians from the Samsung app store.
In the app check Battery Tracker for high usage, and also use Thermal Guardian, you can set a thermal threshold and a few options to help cool the phone down if it goes above the threshold.
