Question Issues after Motherboard replacement - Redmi Note 10 Pro

I am using a Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro (India) with Global MIUI ROM. I got the motherboard replaced by authorised Xiaomi service centre under warranty because of no audio output and no camera. Now, the transparency and CPU and GPU intensive tasks don't work properly as intended. Games like '8 Ball Pool' does not work properly and the game stutters/spikes when the balls bounce off the table or while shooting. What should I do now? Should I take it back to the service center? Warranty is nearly over.

Take it back.

Is it only mine or is your Note 9 camera not in the centre with in the cutout?

Hey guys after watching Mrwhosetheboss video on the note 9, I just came to realise that I've got the same defect (I don't know if I should call it that) his units (centre) camera cut out isn't in the centre.
Do you have the same issue?
And I hope you guys understand what I'm saying.

Keeping my Mi 8 or goes second hand Pixel 2 XL

Currently I have Xiaomi Mi 8. But recently there are some interesting offers for second hand Google Pixel 2 XL for about 390.5 USD. Quite confusing because Xiaomi Mi 8 has newer chipset (SD 845), better display (Samsung AMOLED vs LG p-OLED), and larger RAM (6 GB vs 4 GB). But in the other hand Google Pixel 2 XL has much stronger camera, stock Android, it's like a dream device. I'm just a casual user (messenger, social media, browsing, Spotify, taking some photos for Instagram feed) What's your opinion? Should I keep my Xiaomi Mi 8 or goes to second hand Pixel 2 XL?
Or try Pixel experience Rom and enjoy the best of both worlds?
Assuming it's a global device you can still relock the bootloader and sell it afterwards if you didn't like it.
keep ur money and the mi8 wait for snapdragons 855 is around the corner .....oled from pixel 2s are tend to burn easily aswell the pixel 3s ......i own mi8 6/128 currently running havoc build 12/24/ sphinx 2.0 / stock google gapps .....batt last me 20-30 hours... on sot 5-7 .... and there you have an way better overpriced pixel device the camera from mi8 is also superior just need few tweaks.
the only thing i deslike from mi8 is the size...they went from 5"0 inch to 6"2 inche (to big) ....notch aahh ...few subtratums overlay to show 4 notification remove the clock... and keep wifi/signal/batt+ % and u can live whit it ......
waiting for another xiaomi 855 device mi mix 3 5g (to delicate it wont last me an week before i break it )will see mi 9 hopefully an punch hole if is an water drop notch ill keep mi8 mean time

Already read about Havoc. Have you update it to the latest build? And what bugs?
It depends on what do you want from a phone. If you use the social/camera part of a gadget, then go for the pixel. If not, keep the Mi8. I had to choose from the same 2 phones and I went with the Mi8. I will upgrade to mi mix 3 in the summer

What do you consider so you pick Mi 8 at the end?
The screen , the gestures of miui9(at that time), the infra red unlock in pitch black, the performance. Not a fan of the notch, but i accept it because it houses sensors and suprinsingly , a very good camera. Also was very suprised by the dual camera on the back.

Redmi K20 Pro Or Oneplus 7 ?

Hi everyone,
I want to buy a smartphone - but stuck between Op 7 or K20 pro ? Can't make my mind - which one should I buy ?
Any suggestion/ advice will be highly appreciated.
They are pretty similar. Run on the same platform, CPU, GPU. Both AMOLED, same resolution.
The K20pro / 9Tpro has an audio jack, OP7 does not.
OP7 has stereo speakers, K20p/9Tp does not.
The K20pro / 9Tpro has FM radio, OP7 does not.
I believe the OP7 has OIS on the main camera, K20pro/9Tpro does not.
The OP7 has a (small) notch in the screen. The K20pro/9Tpro has a popup front facing camera.
K20pro/9Tpro has a somewhat bigger battery.
For me personally, the popup cam is not a problem because I don't use face-unlock or take selfies, and having a full notch-less display is very nice.
I imagine that if you're the kind of person that uses the front facing camera a lot, the popup camera becomes annoying pretty fast. (but I don't know because I'm not that person)
FM radio is a feature I really like to have, but I'm probably alone in that one.

Thanks mate for your detailed comparison .
I don't use face-unlock and selfies like you. So it 'll not be any issue for me. Though I don't like Pop-Up camera. But I really like stereo speakers.
BTW, how's the battery life of K20 pro ?
OP7 has almost no development - unlike the K 20 Pro.
But I really don't like the bootloader unlocking procedure of Xiaomi. It's really annoying (really)to me.
Would you throw some lights on the multi-media experiences of K20 Pro - 3.5 mm audio quality, watching video/movie experience etc.? Really it's very important to me.
Which one would be better for multi-media between these two ?
Thank you once again for your reply.
K20 Pro has a HiFi DAC built-in. It's 24 bits / 192 KHz.
So it has the ability to play High Definition audio.
You don't really need to unlock the bootloader unless you really need root for something or actually want to change ROMs.
I used the Xiaomi ADB/Fastboot tool to disable apps that I don't use. MIUI isn't that bad, for now at least.
I was confused about that last few days, finally bought k20 pro, for 3.5 mm audio jack and price difference. audio, movies and camera are great.

I am probably not the best judge. I don't have an OP7, have only used this device (European 9Tpro) for under 2 weeks now and my previous phone was almost 5 years old. To me, watching video on the notch-less OLED and listening through simple wired earphones is very good.
Battery life is good. In normal day to day use when I'm not traveling, I can charge it every 2 days. In heavy use it will still last a full day easy. I have everything on all the time (wifi, sync, location, bluetooth, ambient display).
I plan to keep mine stock and locked for at least the first month, but yes from what I read on these forums, unlocking and flashing is more cumbersome and has more pitfalls than I'm used to from HTC devices.
My previous phone was OP7.
k20pro 256gb + 27watt charger costs less than Op7. So price wise this is a win.
Face unlock is a breeze in Op7. Miss that comfort on k20 pro. Though always on fingerprint is good & serves the purpose.
4000 mah battery & miui battery management works wonders. Always end up with 30+ at the end of the day. On Op7, it would be about less than 20% by the end of the day.
Oxygen os is really clean. But it lacks serious customisation. Miui is eyecandy & won't get boring. This is probably the only factor for me to switch from op7.
Also, since op7 was just a minor upgrade from 6T, better to wait for Op7t (with 90hz).
But beware of your purchase now, the price of K20PRO will see drop Faster than op7 in very short period of time. (Already price cut of Rs 2000 announced in India (flipkart))
U should also check the asus rog 2 if u are not bothered by large bezels

Excellent comparison. :good:
Really appreciate .
Totally agree with you - OP7 is a minor upgrade from 6T. And Miui is eyecandy and has more customisations.
BTW, the same question I want to ask you - Are satisfied by switching from OP7 to Redmi K20 Pro ?

Thanks for sharing the most important feature - audio quality of K20 Pro.
What's your feedback about the headphone audio quality of K20 Pro?
Is it really awesome or average ?
I like to use rooted device. And that's why I don't like Xiaomi for their bootloader unlocking policy.
Appreciate your ADB/Fastboot procedure for deblauting.
BTW, I had some bad experiences with RN7 Pro - MTP incompatibility. My Windows PC can't recognized RN7 Pro and can't install the drivers. And finally I'd to sale RN7 Pro due to this issue. Is there any MTP/ Driver issue with K20 Pro ?
:good:
if op7 has no notch i would have gotten it to try this oxygen os ,coming from pocophone which is mine spare phone now ,glad i dont to face with a notch all day , to me op7 just look like a 6t , by the way i have no issue connecting mine pc (win 7) to k20 pro
Yes, i really am enjoying the k20 pro. Yesterday, the android 10 OTA was received. So that also is covered.
And miui 11 is on the way by end of the year.
Btw, if u are looking for Op7T for the 90hz display, K20PRO can also reach around 80hz thru mods. Both are 1080 oled panels.
On a related note, asus rog 2 has got some Insane specs for a sweet price (128/8 ) Rs 38k.
K20pro is going to be sold for less then 24999 during the sale season... That's a huge price drop for such a new device and it's cheating for those who bought this device from the start.....

Nope Max drop will be ₹3500 if you are taking into account the initial ₹2000 into account. Even in current sale a minimum card discount is going to be there for atleast ₹1500. As a loyalist I feel that companies should atleast hold onto their prices for 6 months man. If you ever want to resell your device within this timefram now you will face a huge challenge trying to resell. Not that I would be doing that. Its about percieved difference of going from Base bottom Budget Brand to a Premium Brand... They went back to being a budget only Brand with this move. Thats really Bad. I would gladly buy their Premium range of Phones of the Mi Series(I owned a MI3 and Mi5) But they don't release them here in India anymore..
If a Brand wants to induce a loyalty in its customer base they should be prepared to be loyal in return. This doesnt feel like loyalty..

[Camera FIX] It is time to replace the rear camera.

Hi everyone,
I think it is time to replace the rear camera in my OnePlus 3T.
Many OnePlus 3/3T devices have a problem with the focus in the rear camera.
I have two OnePlus 3T 64GB and 128GB and this problem occurs on different ROMs and on different camera apps.
The temporary way to "fix" it is a strong tap or strong shake with your phone.
My patience is over, and I am going to buy and replace the rear camera in my device.
Buy a new (genuine) rear camera for OnePlus 3/3T on eBay for £12-16.
eBay (UK) - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm//142665660377
eBay (UK) - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/264405403433
Do no buy Refurbished or non-Genuine cameras for £8-10.
The camera replacement process is simple:
<Mod edit: Removed>
I'll let you know if this solved the problem.
I had the same focusing issue which required replacing rear camera sensor (OP 3). I went to authorised OnePlus service center (in India), they offered free sensor replacement even though my phone was already out of warranty period. Apparently OnePlus has acknowledged this widespread issue accross OP 3 handsets and they are providing free camera sensor replacement irrespective of warranty period.
[UPDATE]
Finally I found time to replace my rear camera and the new camera works perfectly!
Best spent 12 pounds!
I think oneplus do the change also out of warranty. The rear camera focus issue is a very common issue, i had too (fortunately in warranty), but in any case is better to try an RMA before spend money (ps: i bought my op3 from oneplus's official site)
