My XT1803 is hard bricked: the only sign of life is a blinking LED when I connect a USB cable.
I tried to get into EDL mode (i.e. 9008) by disconnecting the battery and using a deep flash cable - but that didn't work.
Are there any test points on the motherboard that I could short in order to get into EDL mode?

Hi,i have been trying to flash the new v20 version to my Lg P880,and i have all the drivers installed, windows enabler etc...everything that says i must do in the tutorial-i did it...
But the problem is i cant enter the s/w mode without the battery.
When i remove the battery,i hold the volume - key and plug my usb cable in,and nothing happens.
I even tried it with volume + or holding both buttons-but it just wont enter the s/w mode.
I can enter it while the battery is still in the phone, but if i take it out-it wont.
What could be the issue?

it doesn't matter if your battery is in or not. try it with the battery still inside - if you can access S/W mode that way.
If you have desktop pc issue can be your PC usb port! Logically your phone need some kind of electric power to operate in SW mode, if you use front pc port or some kind of usb hub maybe they doesn't provide enough power, and when you put your battery its working..try to plug your phone in motherboard's usb port on backside of pc case!
I have similar situation where i had huge amount of different usb devices plugged in my pc, and SW mode only worked with battery...and sometimes lg tool asked me to reconnect the phone at the moment just before flash start (even so my phone was already in SW mode and recognized from lg tool), and then i had to put battery in phone otherwise lg tool said that phone is not conected!
But if you can go in SW mode, than you do not have a problem!
Hi, i have a galaxy s3 and i was using it with a battery which is nearly dead. Last day, phone powered down due to low battery and it does not boot now.
I tried to enter download mode with the combination of [Power + Volume Down + Home] but it does not work.
Made a jig cable with 300K resistor and it does not work too.
I connect it to PC and device connected notif. sound heared but after couple of seconds its disconnected.
Phone vibrating and charge icon appears if i plug charge cable.
Are there another way to enter download mode or i have to flash it via jtag port with Riff Box etc. (bad news is i don't have it)

Might be in Qualcomm Flash Image Loader (QFIL) A.K.A Emergency Download Mode (EDL Mode).
Try this guide-unbrick-unlock-leeco-le-2-x52x
More info on EDL mode fix for Leeco x720 unbrick-leeco-phones-leeco-variants
I haven't done the process on an Le eco phone before, so I can only point you towards other guides.

Many thanks, that's interesting, but I would like to preserve my data, and that procedure will wipe all data on the smartphone. I dint't try to enter in download mode, though I can't see any device in the windows device manager.
Today I replaced internal battery with a brand new one with no results. Trying to charge, both the charger and the phone remains cold, so it seems no charging process starts. Now I will leave the phone connected to the charger over 24 hours, as some users suggest. The phone was very warm when bricked, and it was connected to the wall charger - maybe some kind of thermal protection occurred. If it won't resurrect tomorrow, after some more software tries, I will order the flex cable with usb connector. Little chance, but one more try.
I will let you know.
Thanks

Hello,
I fixed the problem: it was an hardware issue. I replaced the charging circuit (that includes the type-c connector) and the smartphone immediately woke up. All my data were preserved.
Paolo.
Charging goes OK, but app always show discharging! Also pc don't recognize phone in normal mode and flash mode (volume down). Motherboard is not damaged, changing battery and USB flex didn't help

So I am trying to activate the testpoint on the P10, as it is mentioned in several tutorials, e.g. here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/p10/how-to/unbrick-p10-vtr-l09-vtr-l29-unbrick-t3916694
However, I could not get the device to register as an USB serial device and it is unclear to me how to achieve this - how exactly do I shorten the testpoint? I could not find any Video or similar information. Do I need to shorten it all the time, or just for a few seconds? Does the device have to be turned on or turned off? Should I turn it on while shortening the testpoint?
its simple, u must unplug batery, usb cable, take any metal think (a wire exemple) and connect test point pin to metal shield on mother board, while u hold short, plug usb cable and in device menager u will see usb serv (if no driver installed) or com 1.0 (if driver installed) then u take back short, plug batery and u have what u want

a metal thing ex https://prnt.sc/qycus2
Thank you, I was not aware that I had to unplug the battery!
okay, battery must be unplugged firstly.
using testpoint method to tryn fix a interupted flash (battery died mid flash, yikes)
in my experience this erases imei save yuor imei folks
