2nd: is it possible to flash modded firmwares without using root?

Hello Friends,
Its a good news for Tab A 10.5 (2018) users for it started to receive official android 9 with One UI.
Samsung has started to roll out update since a week or so. So just check your System Updater.
If you haven't got pie update and you want to try right now then just download full Stock ROM and Odin using
following links. Just Extract the stock ROM zip and select proper file in each compartment of Odin Flasher.
All Samsung Stock ROMs = https://samfrew.com (free but slow download, appx 250kbps)
Latest Odin Version = https://drive.google.com/open?id=1UUsCl3Z0yNQWijHOCmuI88t8coTcyQoT
Latest Samsung Android Drivers = https://drive.google.com/open?id=14Cl0Rhb8R2Ot2O-5nKqvcnzXC1NifuUr
SM-T595 INS Indian version (fast) = https://drive.google.com/open?id=1VDCxqjF-6yhPHmB9HME4C6Fv5Vlg-IFw
Since i already got official update so i haven't tried flashing This stock rom. Try on your Own Risk.
Enjoy
Sm-p205 was released with pie months ago.

hi all !
is there a way to revert back to android 8.1 when we don't like " oneUI " on our Tab A 2018 ( 10.5 )??
EDIT :
we managed to add Bixby Voice on a Tab A 2018 ( 10.5 ) and running on Android 8.1 however BV appears to be unavailable when upgrading to Android Pie
the other tablet we have ( Galaxy Tab A 10.1 , 2019 on android pie ) is displaying a message " Bixby Voice is not available in your country " however , we can't figure out what country is actually deemed as the current country since we are connecting with same Wi-Fi connection and getting two different results.
take care
marc

Click to collapse
Sure @SinWei97 :
1- Flash the stock ROM (Samsung ROM) because the AOSP 9 will use the stock Vendor.img
2- Flash TWRP and install the AOSP 9 as System
3- Finaly use the OEM fix of @dr.ketan
Then your Note 9 will boot normaly
Best Regards
Can you boot with vendor of 10 can you confirm maybe the iris scan will work with the kernel and aosp from phh ? He told me maybe will work on his gsi but only with android 10 as base maybe kernel caused? He mentioned....
And are you able to boot gsi with vendor and kernel are stock android 10?
This a few day's gone by the way........
After Upgrading From Android 8.1 To Android 10 Which You Can No Longer Downgrade To Stock Android 8.1 & Any Extreme Syndicate Firmware
due to the new bootloader version 5 Any Ideas That The Future Of Custom ROMs Like Extreme Syndicate To Push A Final Version For Android 10 For Rooting?
The Last Two Smartphones Firmware From Extreme Syndicate?:
Download Extreme Syndicate root package:
For Galaxy S9 (SM-G96OU/U1/W): Extreme.Syndicate.Root.S9.rar
For Galaxy S9+ (SM-G965U/U1/W): Extreme.Syndicate.S9p.zip
For Galaxy Note 9 (SM-N96OU/U1/W):Extreme.Syndicate.Root.N9.zip
None of these work after Android 10 due to the bootloader restrictions required to have the updated methods for Odin Rooting In The Future Of AOSP ROMs
Extreme Syndicate ROMs are Android 8.1 and downgrade is impossible period due to the new (download mode bootloader)
its been a few years since i modded a phone. i recently got my hands on a used samsung galaxy note 8 {factory unlocked/no carrier} with a snapdragon processor.
model # SM-N950U1
Im searching around this forum but most of the info is for exynos processors.
i need to unlock the bootloader and root so that i can install
LineageOS 19.1.how can i do this?
The snapdragon version is called the "greatqlte". You can root it via twrp, but I'm not sure about custom rom support, and definitely not lineage19.1.
The snapdragon version has basically no support on xda. Someone posted a question similar to yours a while back.
too bad , its still a good phone, whats the highest version of android i can install ?
I don't think there are any roms.. I think I saw an oreo one, but you're probably better off sticking to oneui on android 9, which is stable (unlike the oreo build).
You can still root and debloat/customise your phone via magisk modules etc.
Hi
Just bought a Note 9 (USA version) running Oreo. I've flashed to the final version of Oreo. Next up is Pie. Signal is a bit weak compared to my Note 9 running Android 10.
Is it possible to install only the latest modem from Android 10 or even Android 9 (via Odin, from sammobile firmware) on the Note 9 running Oreo 8.1?
Not planning to root. Like to keep it on Oreo for call recording.
Don't want to upgrade to Pie or above since call recording gets messy.
Thanks much!
I was able to flash pie baseband (modem) still on bootloader 1. Jus flash the CP only from the firmware package. Slightly better signal. Call recording still works (with less volume compared to Oreo) for both Google Voice and regular line using Boldbeast.
