Hello All,
As per the title, I am unable to be notified after missing a call, it won't show up on my notifications drop down swipe or as a badge on the Phone App(using google one).
My device: Xiaomi Note 10 Pro - 4g (Global Edition) My ROM is the Offical one from Xiaomi.
I've done several of the following:-
- factory reset
- app notification clear data
- enable/renable notifications for phone/contact/call
- reboot
- battery optimisation turned off
- checked default settings to make sure Phone app is selected as my default caller.
I did not have this issue while I was on MIU13.
Does anyone have any suggestions that I may of missed in settings ?
Thank you.
Same for me...

Hello there,
I came to an extremely annoying problem with the dialer app on my phone (Oneplus 3T - Stock Oxygen OS 4.0.3), and after some dig up I came to a solution that I would like to share, since it was not too obvious to find.
[THE ISSUE]
Wherever I received a phone call I was not presented with the standard screen with buttons to swipe for answer or reject it.
If the phone was locked, the ringtone was heard but the screen was completely black. I had then to press the power button to wake the screen.
With the screen on, a small taskbar at the top of the screen (in color blue or green) was the only notice that a call was incoming at the moment. [See 1st image]
Then I had to touch the bar to finally get the standard dialer screen with the options to answer or reject the call.
This 3 step ritual, was extremely annoying to repeat to each of the 15-20 calls I receive daily.
Besides that, was common for the caller to not wait and hang up before I could make it.
[THE SEARCH FOR A SOLUTION]
Since I had no recent system updates, and I could not backtrack what settings change that I made to gain this black screen issue I started searching.
After some goggling, I found similar threads for black screen calls on forums talk.sony.mobile.com and oneplus.net, then it was possible to narrow that the problem was at InCallUI.apk not working properly.
When I checked the InCallUI app info on "Config > Apps > (menu) Show system > InCallUI" I could note the "Notifications" settings were "Silenced". [See 2nd image]
Bingo! But when I clicked on it there was no option to re-enable it. [See 3rd image]
Continuing the search I did find some solved threads, but the solutions proposed by it did not inspired me confidence.
All I could find was:
- fix the defective proximity sensor that caused the screen to go black;
[If that was my problem the screen would go black AFTER the call was answered and not BEFORE it. And beside that I double checked that my proximity sensor was OK during calls]
- backup, wipe the phone to factory settings and restore backup; [NO WAY!]
- install a new dialer app like Google Dialer; [I like my stock dialer, but why not? Tried but did not solved the black screen call issue]
- root and install an custom InCallUI.apk app; [I was intrigued that no root was necessary to cause the issue, so why it would be to solve it?]
- extract InCallUI.apk from an stock image, root, delete the actual apk and install the extracted clean one; [Not into it, maybe another time.]
[THE SOLUTION - not so obvious for some of us]
The recent Android 7.0 offered new options to customize notifications individually by app, so I focused on reaching the InCallUI.apk notifications settings somehow.
This is how I managed it:
1. Called myself from a second phone;
2. Awaked my screen with the power button;
3. Touched the "touch to return" taskbar (blue or green) to reach the incoming call screen; [1st image]
4. Did not answered and pulled the notification bar down to reach the InCallUI.apk notification item; [4th image]
5. Did not answered and hard pushed the InCallUI white notification item to the left so I could reach the gear icon to customize it; [5th image]
6. FINALLY changed the option from "Show notifications silently" to "Don't Silence" InCallUI and clicked "DONE".
7. Profit! Incoming calls screen back to normal behavior.
As I said this solution may be obvious, but since I struggled to find it this post may be of help to for some of us.
Thanks to XDA Forum community for all nice things it allowed me to I learn since my first HTC T-Mobile G1.
PS: Forgive my english, it's not my first language.
Worked perfectly fine.. hard left swipe to notification is the key..
Thanks
Hello,
It shame Huawei, that in the flagship phone there are some stupid bugs!
When I receive message from whatsapp, sms etc. I feel the vibration! But I disabled any vibrations in options menu!!! Help me.
Huawei P20Pro with new update.
I have the opposite problem - whatsapp doesn't vibrate when switched to silent mode.
Ok, problem resolved.
Deep in the options you can find another (?) vibrations - I dont know why, its stupid:
settins > applications.. > alerts > [apps list] each of them has alerts option
Hi,
I have new Xiaomi 8 with china ROM. (updated to latest stable version)
I have problems with alarm clock that not working.
Gmail app also doest show notifications.
I choose not restrict on battery saver for these apps but still doesnt work.
any idea ?
Almost all notifications like that are not working on the Mi 8.
Not on the always on display, statusbar etc.
I just got this bug too after the 9.6.7 Global OTA yesterday. All my notifications are muted now no matter what volume you set it to.
I found a solution. Give the apps auto start permissions
In miroom 9.9.6 (MIUI 10) and xiaomi.eu 9.9.26 (MIUI 11), option popup notification in whatsapp is grey and notifications on new messages don't work.
After uninstall and wipe cache and dalvik cache the problem is not solved. Moving on xiaomi.eu 9.9.26 (MIUI 11) with data format, didn't help.
I noticed that after all actions MIUI settings witch i restore from Xiaomi Cloud for whatsapp were restored as well no matter that app was removed before new backup.
As i understand it's not a common problem. And i think that the problem is in MIUI settings, does someone know how to reset MIUI settings without resetting home screen or reset setting only for one app? (Uninstalling, removing app data, wiping cache and dalvik cache won't help.)
Same issue here.
Installed the MIUI11 update and lose all notifications.
Same problem here.
I receive a notification sound and can see an icon in the status bar but if I drop down the notification panel, it's gone.
same here
cant see the calenders events in notifications bar after this update, and cant disable access location in the phone for same apps cause it say security permissions require in miui pervious i could disabled it! now it drain battery cause locations gps
help, please fix.
Resetting notifications to default and setting notifications sound from MIUI 11 settings, helped. Popup notification still don't work but i'm getting regular notifications from messages. Strange i sure i have done it before.
I have searched her for a similar problems, and I couldn't find the answer to my issue. I am on global MIUI 11.0.5
I am having a problem with notification badges, ever since the ROM update.
I was using Tesla launcher pro, and now I Poco launcher, no matter what I do, I can't get notification badges to work.
Also I get a WhatsApp call, the screen doesn't light up anymore, and when on silent mode, vibration for WhatsApp doesn't work.
Thank you in advance.
There is a lot of settings for notifications in MIUI 11, there is per app in app properties and there is a notifications option in settings, where you can forbid per app usage of notification badges and lock screen. It's confusing but gives very flexible notifications setup. Just check all this options, may be this is the problem.
btw AOD have it's own settings for notifications and DND also.
I have this problem in the other way. I have activated vibration only for some special notifications, like group messages in WhatsApp but my Mi 9 vibrates everytime I get a notification from WhatsApp
