Newbie questions. Orange UK on HTC MTeoR - HTC Breeze

Merry Christmas everyone
I have just recieved an HTC MTeoR for xmas. I am on Orange in the UK (Contract). I quite like the phone so far but there seem to be no Orange settings for GPRS, internet wap etc on it (which is to be expected) so I can't access the internet or anything.
I was wondering if some kind soul could give me a bit of a dummies guide to which settings I need to put in and where to enable this.
Sorry for the newbie question but everyone has to start somewhere.
Thanks in advance. All the best,
Rich

Orange UK settings
Here you go! This is supposed to work on an i-Mate SP JAS, so it should work on the HTC MTeoR as well.

That is fantastic. It works (after a little playing around with the security to let me run the file)
Thank you so much
Rich

What do you do with the file once it is downloaded, I put it on my phone and got gprs working for a bit and now it has stopped working again?

I just found that it only work when connected by USB into the computer? Also I think I made a bit of a mistake, I unzipped the file before trasferring it onto the phone, when I tried moving the whole file onto the phone it says that the program does not have sufficient permission. Could anyone help me out?

Does anyone know?

???

Hi, when you have pluged in the usb and cradeld with pc than its no problem... because the traffic goes trough the usb, active sync and the internet connecton of your pc ....
check the connection settings under start -> settings -> gprs ....
call your provider and ask for the gprs settings...
you should become settings like this:
apn: blabla.com
user: [email protected]
pass: blabla
for my side this is all and it works...
to configure mms you must go to messaging options and mss options... then you have to click on right softkey mmsc settings and made an new entry ...
that looks a quite different ...
gateway: ipadresse (x.x.x.x)
server: mmsc.blabla.com
ps. google says -> Orange UK GPRS Settings:
Orange GPRS settings (WAP):
Homepage: http://orange.multimedia/
APN add. (Contract): orangewap
APN add. (PAYG): paygwap
Gateway (IP) address : 192.168.71.035
Username: Orange
Password: Multimedia
Session type: Continuous / permanent
Authentication: Normal
Port number: 9201

Does this mean that I don't need to use that file anyway. I tried to enter the data and now it is saying there is no network coverage so do you think it is working but there maybe is just no network coverage in my area.

UK Orange Connection Settings

Hi Guys,
I have just flashed my Trinity with the new ROM but I have lost my connection settings that enable me to connect to the internet etc...
Could some kind soul please post the correct settings on here for me and also if possible post the correct settings to enable me to receive my email via Hotmail.
I am in the UK using Orange Pay As You Go simcard if this helps.
Also, if I install Tom Tom on my storage card will the program automatically connect to the satellites to use GPS. I have never used a satnav device before.
Cheers!
Hi Mate.. if you follow the instructions found on the following link, it will restore your Orange MMS settings.
http://www.expansys.com/ft.aspx?i=120563&thread=62
The instructions are for an iPaq6515 but they work for this device too. I used them and it worked first time.
To set up internet access, define a new modem connection called orangewap that will connect via cellular line (GPRS, 3G), accesspoint name is orangewap, and leave the username, password & domain blank.
This should get you going.
Orange Settings
Cheers Boidy!
All sorted now.
Thanks for your help.

Getting kicked off BlackBerry Connect

Ok, so i searched the threads and haven't been able to find a solid answer for this. I installed BlackBerry Connect and it's running great, except for the fact that every time i try to use a program that utilizes data (web browsers, chat programs, etc.), I get booted off the BlackBerry EDGE data and it starts connecting to T-Mobile GPRS, hence killing my BB mail connection. Anyone have this same issue? How have you resolved it? Thanks in advance for the
help!!
- As you can tell, i'm using t-mobile with the bb add on plan....
Ok, so i'm trying to still figure this problem out, hopefully im on the right track. Looking thru the BBConnect settings i noticed that the BB Connect software is set up to run thru a different APN and username and password than normal BB devices. Normally, you would have a carrier specific log-in as the APN, username and password. On BB Connect, it's locked in to:
APN: blackberry.net
username: rim
password: password
You can see this by selecting the BB icon-> options-> details...
If you're familiar with using a BB device on TMO, you already know your settings would have been:
APN: wap.voicestream.com
username : (your phone number)
password: (your account password)
Does anyone know how to change this? I'm sure that if this can be changed, then we can use the BB data instead of switiching to the GPRS data everytime we open a data app. Any feedback? I havent seen a solution to this as of yet
well my kaiser is set to have both conections Blackberry and WAP.CINGULARGPRS on all the time and thats the only way they will bothi work at the same time. use kaiser tweak to set them both always on.

There is no way to change this. BBConnect will reconnect after the other app using the other APN let's go. Although, on rare occasions, it doesn't reconnect and you have to Suspend and un-Suspend BBConnect manually to get it back again.

this is incorrect like I just said above! first set up your kaiser to use your t-mobile network :reboot: then go to the connection settings and advanced>select networks>make sure both of these are set to your t-mobile.
then install BB-connect
reboot let it do its thing and set everything up.
then use kaiser tweak to set both connections to always on and reboot
no click the data icon on the top of the screen and make sure both networks are connected. the kaiser has the nuts to use to different networks at the same time even 3 if youhave wifi on. this might be an issue of t-mobile only being a edge network at this point but I can assure you it works just fine on 3G with at-t
OK, so i tried setting it up using both the T-Mobile data and bberry data at the same time. I used Kaiser Tweak, but it still won't let me have both the T-mobile data and bberry data connected at the same time. I did notice that i was able to get wifi and bberry data at the same time though. I wonder what's wrong with this
Is there perhaps a way to tweak this in the registry? I tried using kaiser tweak to keep both the bberry and tmobile data going at the same time but regardless, it kicks one or the other off
Perhaps this could be something included in the next version of KaiserTweak?
@Austinsync....
On a lot of the Stock ROM's the operator (AT&T/T-Mob) restrict this function of having multiple data/server connections.
@ usmcnyc
Thanks for your service! Now a bit of advice. Switch ROM's, after installing Hardspl of course. Many of the "Cooked roms" will allow this feature to be used. It costs the provider more to have multiple data lines going so they limit it to one. I recomend using Sleuth V3.0. I can surf the web, while using internet sharing, & still get my Blackberry Messages! If I'm in 3G or H territory, add using the phone to that list.

1.37 ROM - TMobile USA - Internet just not working!

Since upgrading to 1.37's EU ROM, my Tmobile settings jus simply aren't working. IE, Opera and ASync cannot dial wap.voicestream.com, and no matter how many times I delete and recreate....I just can't get my Tmobile USA Internet to work.....
I know this is a dumb issue...but any thoughts on how to configure this ROM to get it to work?
I'm sure this is what you're doing but...
Go to setting - all settings - conections - connections
and check exactly what you have there.
APN: wap.voicestream.com
username: [none]
password: [none]
Check all the advanced settings and proxy etc are off.
Also it might be something to do with the network in your area at the moment.
Thanks. I've done exactly that, as well as let the Connections Wizard configure my device for Tmobile USA, and neither is working. Wifi works great of course. Tis very strange......
hmm u got another phone there you can try?
Usually when wierd stuff like this happens its some network problem and you find out after 2 hours of wating your time
No coffee in me yet......other phone has the same issue....damn roaming providers!!! Thanks for the sanity check!
LOL.....wife knew about the issue last night!!!! hahahaha!

No T-Mobile data connection!!!!!

hi all could use some advise
HTC diamond - T-Mobile UK
Dutys ROm 1.4 (updated on monday)
Radio : 1.00.25.05
It connects to the internet via the web browser no problem, but it does not connect my data connection to check my mail etc - every time i do a send recieve on my mail it says error synchronising.
data connection is greyed out cant acess it, yet the H logo is showing and says its connected
settings from T-Mobile are:
APN: general.t-mobile.uk
Password: one2one
any ideas anyone?
have you removed the proxy?

goto settings/connections/connections/manage existing connections/ then tap the fourth tab "proxy settings" and untick the box next to "this network uses a proxy server"
thanks guys that seemed to work..
the only thing is it worked for 2 days fine before and then konked out, ive just upgraded to Dutty's v1.5 rom with - Radio 1.00.25.05,
if happens again what should i do as i dont fancy reflashing the rom weekly.
any ideas?
I used to have a similar issue, but mine worked straight out of the box for week and i was able to send/recieve mail from aol and update the weather, then all of a sudden it decided i could only use the net connection for web browsing,so i removed the proxy and all was good except for sending mail through aol,but that is a mystery in itself.
Now everytime i flash a rom i remove the proxy settings and it works fine.
There is also a reg tweak that can stop touchflo from using the proxy but i cant remember the exact thread, its on here somewhere.
So in answer to your question,I dont think the problem should re-occur but if it does then just kill the network connection and the connect again.
thanks dude, appreciate your help.
Huh. Odd. I had the same problem: Opera works fine, no problem, so does weather, stock quotes and QuickGPS; but email wouldn't connect and neither would YouTube... Clear the proxy and it's fine.
(using Gen.Y D2 R1.25 on radio 1.11.25.01)
EDIT: Apologies for the thread resurrection!

Disable internet access while roaming? (but keeping GPRS/Wi-Fi/etc)

I've got a UK T-Mobile Vario III and will be in the states for two weeks soon.
I want to disable over-the-air internet access to avoid roaming data charges if any applications decide they want to go online (e.g. the weather plugin). I want to keep GPRS operating for send/receive of picture messages.
I'll have the laptop with me (with internet access) so I'd like the phone to still access free internet data when I've got the USB sync cable connected (or via Wi-Fi when I'm in a wireless hotspot).
Could someone remind me how to disable over-the-air internet while keeping the other stuff?
Andre
NoData
Try this: http://www.modaco.com/content/pocket-pc-software/246171/new-free-utility/
Works great for me.
Thanks for the tip, that worked great to turn data connections off, but it also disabled MMS (picture message sending) which is cheap on roaming and I will want to use quite a bit. It was just internet roaming data that I wanted to prevent.
Any other ideas?
Andre
Try NoData from Modaco. You can chose between mms or internet disabling.

That's the one I tried (same filename anyway) but it only offers one item to enable/disable via the 'Toggle' option, thus:
T-Mobile Internet - ENABLED

Disabling that connection shouldn't disable your MMS connection, they're completely separate. I installed my T-Mobile settings via a cab on these forums (since I'm not using the stock ROM) and the two connections appear seperately in NoData.

On my stock ROM, it looks like the MMS sending is done via the T-Mobile Internet connection.
In Messaging > MMS Options... the server it uses is "T-Mobile PictureMessage".
When I click on that to check the settings, it uses the following:
Gateway: 149.254.201.135
Port: 8080
Server address: http://mmsc.t-mobile.co.uk:8002/
Connect via: T-Mobile Internet
Any further thoughts? I don't want to mess too much as we go away in a couple of days and don't want to break the phone...
Andre
Just spoke to T-Mobile. They say it's absolutely impossible to do with this type of phone - either you have internet on (which gives you MMS too) or you turn the whole GPRS connection off (thus losing internet and MMS messaging at the same time).
I expect they're wrong, but I'm now at a dead end.
Andre
I didnt see it mentioned, but if you happen to know all the carrier information for the internet account, you could always go to "manage connections" and delete all of the data connections there. You can put it back in in the matter of a minute or so later when you need it but it would without a doubt keep you from getting any usage charges.
I have t-mobile with stock 6.1 (dutch) and for me its certainly possible to enable internet and/or mms seperately.
You could also try kaisertweak if you havent already. It has options for enabling/disabling certain connection types.
My problem is that the UK stock ROM seems to route MMS traffic via the Internet connection, so if I disable internet it blocks MMS too. I don't have any separate settings for T-Mobile MMS that don't use the internet connection.

thats weird, when i installed nodata and ran it it said: An unexpected error has occured in NoData.exe. Select Quit and then restart this program, or select Details for more information.
ive already did a restart a few times, it might be because i have my kaisertweak as well. but im not exactly sure

I experienced this when I flashed a custom ROM and for a while it did my head in. I realised that it was because I didn't have any defined connection settings - once I installed the T-Mobile settings cab it opened and ran as expected.
Are your GPRS/MMS settings configured?
