I have insert microsd on adapter, on a cel, on a notebook, but nothing has can format the memory. The device is not supported. Why?
What kind of card and card reader you're using? If it is microSDHC card, make sure it is FULLY compatible w/ the card reader.
My laptop and peripheral readers do not accept a microSD of any size above 2 gigs. All have been updated to no avail.
The latest 8 gig Sandisk microSD will format by using the Sandisk "MicroMate USB" read/writer plugged into a USB 2 port. I need to use the adapter (microSD to SD) as well as their MicroMate adapter.

Mack5305 you have reason! You are the best! I have insert my microsd of 4gb in the sd adapter and next i have inserted the sd adapter in MicroMate adapter and the card is read correctly!! I have format her!! Very thanks!!

Hello,
I have read through all the posts here regarding SD cards and so far here is what I think I know for sure.
Alpine supports upto 4GB SD Cards.
Filesystem must be FAT.
Alpine does not support SDHC Cards.
So here is my problem. I have purchased a SanDisk Ultra II 4GB SD Card. I have formatted it using a USB card reader from a command prompt to make sure it formats as FAT. But when I pop it into my Alpine it doesn't recognise its there.
I also have a Kingston 1GB SD Card & cheap OEM (PQI?) 2GB SD Card. These two cards work fine on my Alpine and in my Canon Camera. The 4GB SanDisk card works alright in my camera too. So I am bit stumped at why my Alpine won't 'see' it.
Anyone have any ideas on how to force the Alpine to look for the SD Card? Or any other suggestions how to get this thing working?
Thanks,
Stéphane
Some 4GB cards are SDHC (Secure Digital High Capacity) and some are not. The Alpine does not support SDHC cards, so make sure you get one that is not SDHC.
I'm aware of SDHC Cards. Usually they have it quite clearly printed on their sticker that they are SDHC. This SanDisk Ultra II 4GB Card is definately not SDHC. I have the original box and it would have mentioned it there or in the instruction sheet. I had read about how the Alpine doesn't support SDHC before I purchased the SD Card. So that is not the problem.
I am trying to get large SD or microSD cards to connect to my droid turbo via an OTG adapter but have not had much success. I can successfully mount a 64GB flash drive and a 128GB microSD but when I step up to a 200GB microSD or a 256GB SD it does not mount. The button in the storage section of the setting to mount OTG storage becomes un-greyed-out but it will not mount it. My phone is rooted.
I was eventually able to figure it out by formatting the drives in FAT32 as primary and with 32kb cluster size. I used minitool to format the cards.
My next task is to try and connect multiple drives at once as well as a usb audio dac.
I have purchased a new Galaxy Tab S2 with the idea of using it to transfer photos from my DSLR when I travel. Tried it out and was disappointed to find out that there is an annoying snag. Here is the sequence of events
Moved my class 10 micro SD from my Sony Tablet to the S2
No problem, I can review all folders and content on the card.
Connected my Pentax K30 with a class 10 16gig SD card on board using the Pentax supplied USB cable and an adapter (non Pentax) to match the USB port on the S2, camera set to PTP
the S2 reports that the SD card is corrupt.
Removed the SD card from the camera and connected using an SD card reader
the S2 reports the card as Pentax USB, but displays two of them with identical names
When I open the file it displays the directory of the INTERNAL MICRO SD card and not the directory of the SD card in the card reader?
If I remove the internal micro SD card
the S2 connects correctly both through the camera direct connect and through the card reader correctly
If I replace the internal micro SD card with a class 4 card
the S2 connects correctly both through the camera direct connect and through the card reader correctly
There seems to be conflict running two class 10 cards at the same time on an S2, what gives?
Eh, what file format? ExFat, Fat32 or NTFS?
NTFS is not supposed on Samsung stock ROM.

Or perhaps your class 10 micro SD is not fast enough for the internal SD card slot.
Also, what is the file system of your SD card(s)?
Last but not least, what file manager did you try?
(Usually, exFat works best on the s2. But of course Fat32 is supported as well. NTFS on the other hand, nope.)
Yes, I said it and I am looking for it. One end needs to be USB C that connects to the phone. The USB C connector needs to be connected to a Micro SD Card reader using a super thin ribbon cable like they use to plug the battery of the phone into it's circuit board or a laptop keyboard to its motherboard and work sort of like and OTG cable, only it has a card reader on the end.
Why? I want to mount a second Micro SDXC Card semi-permanently to the phone (I can always unplug the card reader) but since the Emperor Edition is NOT being sold in the USA, I am going for 64GB internal memory, 256Gb in the internal card slot and 256Gb through the USB C connection. (When larger cards are available, then they will be replaced).
The reason for the ribbon cable, is I want this as small and flat as possible, no casing or housing around the external card reader so I can slip my case over it and it will be protected by the phone's case.
64gb + 256gb + 256gb = 576gb of space
64gb +400gb + 400gb = 864gb of space (New Sandisk memory cards)
To bad they haven't released the 2TB MicroSDXC memory cards yet..... and yes, I will fill the space. Don't worry.
Did you find one?
