S2P is Slide 2 Play by A_C - Very cool IPhone style music player = You obviously didn't search too hard as A_C is one of the most popular developers on this forum - He also created S2U2 and S2V . SEARCH
Icontacts is a phone contacts manager - I havn't used it yet but I read that it is good - Available - SEARCH
GSLIDE - ? Something to do with sliding screen or something perhaps - GOOGLE it. You might not even need it.
Why don't you install them to find out yourself what they are? Where did you get these? Obviously not from their own threads / sites otherwise you would know what they are = Instructions / readme's are available in their appropriate threads / pages - SEARCH

sos, using my dads account, not used this type of forum before.
I am trying to install them, several done no problem, but the ones i mention have NO setup or install file, they just seem to be a bunch of random files with no instruction how to install or where to place them on my phone.
Have searched, so far I THINK the prob maybe my tof rom.??????????
They are .cab files. By default, WIndows will treat them as a zip file.
When you download these programs, you will have a ZIP file. Inside this file is usually a readme.txt file and a *.CAB file.
DO NOT open the CAB file. Copy the CAB file to your PDA. Browse to the file in file esplorer on your pda and tap on the CAB file. This will install it.
I just downloaded S2P and it does come in a CAB file as I explained.
There was no readme or text file and if i click on the setup to install it, a load of mumbo jumbo i dont understand comes up
I will google it some more, i cannot find a solution at the minute, because whenever i try to install it just wont do it, i'm not sure whether i have to convert them or not, on all my others like "ifonz" Ive just gone into them and they've installed when i click setup but these havnt, just a load of mumbo jumbo and technical stuff i cant understand
Those are the cabs. Basically don't open the zip file. Just copy the whole zip file to you device. Be sure to remember where you sent it. Then using your device, find the zip file (This is the cab). To install on your device, all you have to do is simply click on it. When you open a cab on your computer using WINRAR or WINZIP it looks like a bunch of mumbo jumbo. Stop opening the cab - Just put it on your device and click

I believe that the IPodclassic1.0QVGA is a skin for Windows media player. If you have in installed, check out your media player settings / skins to see if it is there.

Not trying to start 1000 threads related to TomTom on the phone, but there seems to be a reoccurring issue with people wanting to get TomTom working on their AT&T Tilt. A lot of people, including myself earlier today, were running into issues with most of the posted files working on the AT&T Tilt. We'd get the message about the ROM being needed to be upgraded. Well buried deep in one of the TomTom threads there was a post by d12ag0n49 pointing to http://www.megaupload.com/?d=JZI2MQES (rar archive with password elrincondedey) that seems to solve the problem for AT&T Tilt users.
I have also uploaded just the cab file onto rapidshare without a password at:
http://rapidshare.com/files/62623762/ttn_6_032_8351_HTCNLD.cab.html
This version appears to work just fine on the AT&T tilt. It does not come with any maps and does link to getting the one free map online (although link never loaded for me). Just simple add the cab file onto your Tilt and install away. You'll have a single voice to choose from without getting additional voices.
Hope this helps.
Steven
i hear you... but man niether one wants to work for me. i guess im sh** out of luck.
but a question. you say just put the cab file in the tilt.
now in laymans terms i need more! assuming i have not installed anything related to tt where would i install this cab file?
Using ActiveSync you need to copy over the .cab file onto your phone (or maybe you can just save it through your browser on the phone). Once you have got it on the phone, you need to use File Explorer to navigate to the directory you saved it in. Find it and run it and it should install after that. What problem are you getting?
This TomTom .cab installed fine, and now I'm configuring it. I haven't finished, but just wanted to pause and thank you for the Female Eva voice from the NETHERLANDS! Like I understand that!

LOL yea might be a bit difficult, but at least you can see what's going on, right? If someone wants to post up detailed instruction on changing the voices/languages please do!
lol geez i think im going to give up
ok via sync i have "explore" which opens the phone.
1 i have copied the whole file and tried also just the contents...no luck you click on files nothing
2 i have copied the file and tried also just the contents into "my mobile phone"...no luck you click on files nothing
its as if after i copy them into the phone the are useless
the closest i have came is with one of the downloads it came as a install wizard which would extract it. but the phone says i need to update rom.
lets say I have a bunch of maps. how do I installthem so tom tom can see them?
lets say you share those maps...ahaha jk
this is where i need to be. try installing that ver (above links) of tt and then i believe you can use tt home or manually install your self in the proper directory.
i just cant get tt itself to install AAARRRGGG
good luck

you're disconnecting your phone from activesync, then using file explorer on your phone to "click" on the cabs you copied over, right?

If you click on a .cab file in file explorer on your phone, it shouldn't "open" (as in let you see the various files within the .cab), it should simply start installing. Not sure what's going on with you.
For those looking for voices, just google free tomtom voices, there are multiple places to find them (and there are some available directly from TomTom). Once you find the ones you want, you just copy those files directly into the "voices" folder that TomTom created. For me, it's in the root of my storage card. For maps, it created a "My documents" folder on my storage card, and the maps are stored in there. Once you get the maps and voices saved in the locations it expects them to be, you just switch to that voice and map in "preferences" within TomTom.
Hate to gloat, but I got TomTom6 working on my Tilt and it works great. Forget the english voices, go for the Darth Vader one!
A quick google search for "tomtom voices" yields a ton of sites.

PLAzmA's Sliding Sound Pack for TYTN II (Kaiser) and windows mobile phones with slide out keyboards
*Note: only use the NUMBERED CAB files to install if you are using a TYTN II Phone or if you have the standard HTC Sliding sound system built into your rom. If however on phones like the HTC Wizard where no sliding sound is currently present, install the SlidingSound.cab file, and then launch the program and assign the files manually. The Numbered CAB files will not work for the older phone method.
List Of WAV FILES USED:
0 : Wind Chimes
1 : Piano
2 : Xylophone
3 : Futurama Bender
4 : Might Boosh
5 : Startrek TOS
6 : Dalek
7 : Cash Register
8 : Electricity
9 : Electric Motor
10: Hal 2001
11: POP
METHOD 1: TO INSTALL NEW HTC PHONES LIKE KAISER BY CAB FILES:
This is really easy pick one of the numbered install files from "Kaiser - Modern Phones CAB Install Files.rar", you can either install the complete pack or just one of the sounds, however as it must have a constant number sequence in the registry, its programmed to replace the 3 base sounds in every pack. This is to ensure that the pack works correctly despite possible older mods. This means if you remove a pack it will also take the 3 base sounds with it, however at any time you want to go back run the htc base sounds pack, make sure you first uninstall the previous pack completely and the run the base pack install cab.
*Note: above numbered cab method only for newer phones with htc slide service like the kaiser, DONOT install onto older phones like wizard as this will not work see the next method.
METHOD 2: TO INSTALL BY ADD ON SLIDINGSOUND.CAB METHOD TO OLDER PHONES:
Install cab file and run sliding sound program, turn on slide detect service and assign wav files manually, refer to the list above for the appropriate numbers, there are two files to select from a simple "SlideSound.cab" file which just has a basic pop noise, additional sounds will need to be install manually, or to install the program and sounds all in one go, install the "SlideSound - All Sounds.cab"
*Note: above cab method is only for phones without the htc sliding sounds program built into your rom and only required on older phones like the herms, wizard etc..

Hi:
Thanks for posting this!
Sorry for the dumb question. Do I copy just the wav files to Windows, or the reg files also? If not, where do I need to place the reg files (I want to install all sounds)? I placed the All Sounds file in My Documents, and clicked on it, it opened reg editor, but did not seem to apply changes, as they are still not visible under sliding sounds.
Thanks so much for the help.
when i try to open the all sliding sounds.reg i get the message "The specified file is not a registry script" please advise
To import registry file you need phm reg edit.
PHM Registry Editor

Try installing this and then open the file again

Hi Plazma:
I do have PHM Reg Editor.
I copied the all sounds file to my documents, and clicked on it, which did open PHM reg editor, but it didn't seem to make any changes. The sliding sounds are still not visible in settings etc. I have soft reset etc. and I still do not see the new sounds. Should they be visible in the standard sliding sound settings?
Any idea what I could be doing wrong? Do I maybe need to have all the reg files on phone, or is it enough to use all sounds only?
Thanks again!
Check new install

Worked Perfectly!
Thanks so much, I was VERY sick of the piano sound
hi all,
Any chance of uploading it elsewhere other than rapishare or megaupload? Preferably mediafire or yourfilehost? Thanks ya!
Uninstall?
I have uninstalled this after I tried to make it work on my X1 (but failed) using the second option, and I am presented with an error at startup that it could not find slidesound.exe. I have checked the registry and cannot find anything in there. Any ideas??
Thanks
Worked fantastically on my Tilt 2. I love the Dalek one
Hi
I am new to this forum and to HTC. I have set up my new phone with S2UL, Ifonez and Icontact. I have got a number of my apps working fine from Ifonez but I cant seem to find the files or commnads to load Windows Mobile 6 built in applications such as the following
Communication Manager
Task Manager
Programmes.
I have been searching through Google and these forums in order to find out but cant seem to find anything, so sorry if this is an obvious question.
I am also using Icontact Burt edition which is mostly working fine. However I am finding one or two contacts are displaying underneath the top bar so that I cannot really make out the entry. I only discovered it by searching for an entry that I knew was there but couldn't see in the list. Icontact seems to display a screen at a time rather than a continuous list so I am finding it difficult to see who these entries relate to. Is this a bug or am I missing something?
Thanks in advance for any help.

Thanks for the quick reply.
If I understand this correctly I create a text file with the appropriate code in it and then rename the file with the extension lnk. Then I point one of ifonez launch icons towards this file. Is that correct?
If it is I still cant seem to see a code for Communication Manager or to open the Programs folder. Have I misunderstood?
You would simply make a .txt file with the "data" of the thing you want to link to, save the file, and then change the extension of the file from .txt to .lnk.
For example, to create a shortcut to Settings>System>Memory>Main, you would make a text document with this in it:
20#ctlpnl cplmain.cpl,4
Save the file as "Memory", and then use a file explorer/manager to change the extension from "Memory.txt" to "Memory.lnk"
The link to the Comm Manager is: 39#"\Windows\CommManager.exe"
The link to the Programs folder [in the Start Menu] is 40#"Windows\Start Menu\Programs\"
Sorry for the delay in replying, I have been caught up with work and unable to look at this forum until now. So thanks for your reply it was really helpful.
(Please correct me if I should ask submit such a request here or in the software forum.)
I exchanged my defective Tilt for a new one and unfortunately didn't back up my cab files I loaded. Through searching here I managed to get some back, but I'm lost on finding a few others. Can someone point me to the following cabs? Thanks.
Internet Sharing (To replace program ATT removed from new Tilt's)
Task Manager (i.e. made tasks icons on title bar)
Have you Checked P1Tater's or AllTheWay's 4Shared? Could even be in Scotchua's
I've looked at a number of threads, but I don't remember those. I'm new at this. Do I search for those terms to get there?
Also, I feel like a real putz, because I can't remember how I installed the cabs last go around. Can you tell me? For example I have the cab for Opera 9.5, but don't remember what to do with it. Thanks.
At the Top of the Threads list Click the One that says "READ THIS FIRST" It will have a link to their file repositories.

1. To install a .cab, just plug in your phone, copy the .cab over to the Documents on your phone, then go into your phone, do Start Menu > Programs > File Explorer, go to My Documents, then click on the .cab

Thread Answered
Thanks for Shopping XDA.
Hi Folks,
I'm sure the answers to my questions are somewhere on XDA, but I've not been able to find them. I've been trying to get some basic things working for a good few evenings now and I’m stuck
Using Erviuskitchen, packages creator 5.4 and EXT_PAckages_rebuilder I've been able to dump the HTC 6.5 base ROM to work from. Then put it all back together, pull some bits out, cook it and flash it to my phone....all went surprisingly well, my phone's still running and a bit more bloat-free!
What I'm stumped on though is adding things to my ROM, I'm good with packages found elsewhere, but nothing of my own.
I've got a bunch of .CABs which I'd like to 'cook in'... but when I create a package from the CAB file using packages creator 5.4 and EXT_PAckages_rebuilder and then flash it, I get no start menu icons. The app seems to be installed correctly, but without icons for it.
(my goal's to cook in a pre-configured copy of GuardMobile for if my phone's evey lost/stolen, but I'd like to be able to include other apps too).
What am I missing?
On a slightly different note: during my travels around here, I've seen various cooked ROMs which give you the option of uninstalling cooked-in apps as if they'd been installed using a .CAB file - how's this bit done?
Like I mentioned, I’m sure the these are pretty basic questions and the answers are around here somewhere, but I'm afraid my search-powers are failing me! (tbh, there's just too much info and I'm struggling to filter it down to what I need).
Any links or quick pointers would be greatly appreciated. Hey if my ROM turns out to be any good, I’ll put it up for others to use.
Thanks in anticipation!
'tunes
Most times when creating a package the shortcut created in the CAB is added to some .DAT file which you can edit using Notepad++ or any other text editor.
There should be some lines in this file like this:
Code:
Directory("\Windows"):-Directory("Start Menu\Programs")
Directory("\Windows\Start Menu\Programs"):-File("PROGRAMNAME.lnk","\Windows\SOURCESHORTCUT.lnk")
At least this is one way to do it. Con about this methode is that you need shortcuts (lnk) in your Windows folder to point to. Should be other ways. I use Mortscript in my ROM (not ready for release ) this allows me to create shortcuts without having shortcuts in my Windows folder.
EDIT:
Just did a quick search for you. THIS might help you (and us) out
Thanks mccune, I'll get reading...
