I use both the non tmobile one with the extra battery charging slot and the tmobile one. the non tmobile one is a straight out usb charger and the base makes a great night table stand for the phone because it is well balanced and when reaching to kill the alarm clock or unlocking to swipe down notification bar or answering call and using speakerphone the device doesn't tip over. i have a second oem battery kept full all the time and swap as needed. the tmobile one is more sleek in design and matches the sapphire's lines but the usb connection puts phone in headset mode. i keep this charger on my desk at work and the drawback is that i can't use speakerphone since it is always in headset mode. i don't need to pc sync ever so i can't give an opinion on that.

Docking station horizontal

Hey xda team again,
Im looking for a dockingstation for the x1 on my desk. The only thing is it has to be in horizontal format. well, i didnt find any in the net. Does anybody know one? it doestn matter if it has USB doc, i just need something to place it opened on the desk.
Hiya,
at the moment there is no shop with a horizontal docking station
On SE-World.info there's a guide how to build a dockingstation Maybe in one or two months he goues into production.

well ive seen some selfmade variations but they look ugly xD
why dont the build one, i mean there is this great Holder for the car where u have a pivot function and u can even switch from horizontal to vertical etc.
this sucks :-(
I use Brodit holder, in the car as well as in my office.
Brodit have an adaptor (male/female sliding), wich let's you take out Proclip (the part that holds the PDA), from the part that sits in your car.
At the office, I have another female part, glued to a heavy glass photo holder, and slide in the Proclip suport. It works great!!!
Look for part number 213005 (2 females and 1 male), at www.brodit.com
Useful also for anyone driving more than one car.
well thats exactly what i meant. The brodit solution but actually its not the perfect solution.
hopefully they will bring out a REAL docking station soon...

Tiny keyboard (external)

I just bought a Rii Handheld keyboard (RII-518), and I am very happy with it.
It looks like this:

only smaller than you think, and it was only 35 dollars from this site: http://dx.com/p/mini-handheld-rechargeable-bluetooth-wireless-keyboard-93118
It pairs beautifully, and the only think I don't like about it is that it doesn't work right away when you turn it on. You sort of have to push a few buttons, and then change apps - but then it works fine. I usually just turn it on when I start using it, and then don't turn it off until I put the tablet away for the night.
Anyway, try it if you think it's for you.
Tempted to buy this. One of those items I would really like to test drive before I commit though. I have would be using it for note taking in class probably. Thoughts?
Looks nice n compact..
I've got one of the diNovo mini's.
http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-920-000594-diNovo-Mini-Keyboard/dp/B0011FOOI2
Works well, and you have mouse control as well with the trackpad on the right.
I got this one and really like it
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004T0QLLO/ref=oh_details_o03_s00_i01
Both of those are rechargeable? And have you tried to do any extensive note taking?
Seems way over priced, have seen similar ones for 10$ shipped on ebay, Chinese ones

Build quality on the cheap Chinese ones can be very poor though, waste of $10 if you get it and the keys don't work properly.
Well, I won't say the Rii's quality is comparable to an old IBM Model M keyboard, but it certainly works! Well worth the money IMO.

Official Samsung Universal dock review

I got the dock in today after I ordered it from the Samsung site with the 50% coupon.
I had the iBolt dock for my S3 and was wondering how this would compare.
First off the build quality is excellent. The Rubber back and holster pieces are an excellent sticky rubber.

Even the suction cup is very soft and sticky. I was able to lock it on to my wood desk so tight it wouldn't pull off.
My only concern is that it wouldn't fit my Note 2 with a case. Not a problem. The Tpu hybrid case I made fits without a problem which makes me think everything with the possible exception of the Otterbox case will be the same
My case:
Big surprise to me at least that it came with the car charger. I don't ever remember it stating that on the website. That alone is worth about $15 online. I paid a total of $25 for the kit, but you can also get it on Amazon for about $33.00
Overall I'm very happy with the purchase. I always like to purchase OeM products for that reason. Hope this helped a few of you.
Thanks for the solid review

Have you had the opportunity to use it yet? I want to know if it goes into Drive Mode when you put it into the cradle and plug it in.
Thanks,
Alperin1
Yes I used it already. I don't recall it going into car mode

Does anyone uses a docking stand for your phone?

Its a retro looking stand that you can lay your phone on top. It also doubles as an USB hub, but I haven't tried it out yet.
Any one using a similar docking stand/retro stand? Post some pictures.
My grandma has one of those.. But it doesn't have that big screen on the right side. :silly: haha
For reference it looks like this one: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00BF8NM6A/ref=redir_mdp_mobile
4 USB ports!
I don't have it, but I used a friends cheaper ebay one last summer with his iPhone and it felt like talking on a normal landline. If it had wireless connectivity, I'd get one.. Especially because talking with the Note II for over an hour can be taxing. (or I'm just weak)
It's an interesting idea but looks like a cheap implementation.

I agree, if this is wireless it would be a good accessoy to have. The wired handset feels a bit strange.
LOL, the 2nd reviewer says : funny item to try out

3rd Party Battery Case Attachment

I'm wondering whether any 3rd party manufacturer will sell battery case attachment like these for Xperia Z. I think should be easy for them to build a custom one for XPZ since there are contact points for charging on the side.
The following is for Samsung Galaxy:

for iPhone:
You want this phone to be bigger?!?
3rd? Where is 2nd?
The 2nd party is either you or Sony, depending on your point of view.
yes would like to have these untill they are ultra slim and no fancy bright leds and they use the dockinng ports to charge is always good and people would buy it even if its slightly expensive as long as they use good materials to compliment the phone looks and feel * which I highly doubt
You mean something like this one? Cost me less than 20 Euro delivered here in Oz, pretty high quality and 2,800mAh. Fits the phone perfectly and uses the external power pins. Perfect!

Here's a test of the power pack. I would say that 2,800mAh is optimistic but it can sure charge the phone once. Good to see that output being close to 1A, too.
