Hmm...can anyone teach me how to access the secondary camera? I searched the forum...some say that there is an 'arrow' in the setting menu but i don't see it.
Anyone help?
ThxThx!
Make a video call from the dialer.
Hmm..I just notice that my camera's setting menu cannot display any text at all. Like...all buttons has no text on it...only with some rectangle buttons.
If I in my dialer choose video call it use the front cam
if I in my camera settings choose camera source and set it to front camera it also use it
mind you the front cam is made for video calls and is not as high quality both mp and opticalwise as the back one

I like to use the front camera to take pictures of me. In the phone all the pictures look good and are ok to send as mms, but downloaded in the pc look horrible. The size it's ok to me but squares appear on the pictures, it looks like a drawing.
It seems that the front camera take good pictures but then applies some kind of data compression.
Any idea/customizing to solve this?
Many thanks in advance.
I got my s730 3 days ago and I still can't figure out how to use the front camera can anyone please show me how to do it???
When you are in camera mode press left button (menu) and in the middle icon (its like a camera) select the third option.
I couldn't find the camera switch button in the software, does HTC camera support the 3g camera of Kaiser? If so, how do i make the switching?
If your talking about the front camera, you just tap "camera" and it will switch to the front camera.
If you want to use it for video calls, you'll need a video call support-dialer, along with the support of the service provider. (normally depicted by some webcam-image icon or anything of that sort)
if your in the camera bring up the menu and theres a button to select which camera. it cycles from back camera, front camera and front camera (flipped).
maybe you have the new camera than you cannot use the frontcamera and Auto focus.
maybe you are right rohithathie, my original front camera had dead once and i changed a new version of camera, maybe thatz why i cannot switch the camera in the new htc camera
Video recording (which can be ruined if you don't turn off CAF) can also be ruined by OIS - especially if you are panning left or right, you get a kind of choppy effect which looks awful.
Is there anyway of turning of the OIS?
I have been doing some reading and it seems the unit can be run in Manual as will as Auto mode for test purposes.
Seeing the fix for the front camera being rotated (after Hal3 setting) using an xml file,
I wondered if there was a similar setting in an xml file that could be flashed to set OIS to manual?
I await your learned answers.
If you are using snap camera, there is an option to disable stabilisation in the video recording settings menu. See the attached screenshot

Click to collapse
Ok Will try
thanks.
Some of these camera apps have their own software stabilisation which you'd be turning off but I'll give it a go.
Sadly setting does not seem to be present in the version I downloaded
Something happened to my camera app, not exactly sure when. The desktop icon changed. And it is no longer linked to google photos... also in google photos I don't find a setting to add a direct connection. So maybe google photos changed (also)? Can someone confirm or explain this? Am I missing something? Swiping to the left used to get me into google photos and review pictures right after they were taken. Now swiping just moves between mode selection, camera and video. I am running Oreo 8.0 Feb.1 patch on a rooted US AndroidOne X4
The camera app just updated.
And now it no longer couples to google photos? That's some improvement...
there is some problem in video recording mode for 1080p60fps
normal and wide angle icons works in opposite way
if u press on wide angle icon, u get narrow field of view
and if u press normal icon, u get a little wide field of view
Dial *#*#1597#*#* on the dialer this will open the camera app. Switch to video mode, Click on the red letter on the right top Lens: Back (Dual)(0) double click on that until you get the Lens: Back (Wide)(3) . Recording works fine from there, but need to do the same every time you need the wide angle.
Thanks!! It works! You rock man!
This is actually super good alternative until Oneplus let us do it by default. Thank you.
The wide lens can only record at 1080p?
The quality in lower light is worse than default video, obviously. But great to have! Someone needs to make a shortcut or something that jumps straight into this, until OnePlus gives us the ability.
Looks like you can just double tap anywhere to switch which camera is used. Seems like this is debug mode for the Camera app. I wonder if this has been includes since 9.5.0 or recently added. Indicating OnePlus indeed started working on this feature.
