Screen & Fingerprints - Nexus One Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi - i'm looking for a good screen protector for the N1 - ideally available in the UK, but im willing to order from US if needed. I'd like something to remove the issue of fingerprints - maybe something with a anti grease coating like the iphone3gs ? any recommendations ?

Check out on ebay for some, i got some cheap ones from Hong Kong, This will decrease fingermarks. I also got a matte version from that dude, it nearly eliminated fingermarks, but at the expense of screen clarity.

liam.lah's correct, the anti-glare matte protectors reduce the amount of visible fingerprints. But that's at the expense of clarity.
I've installed my clarivue ultra clear and it seems to dull a bit of the fingerprint smudges as well. It's a bit of a compromise between running the anti-glare and having nothing at all. The smudges with it on are less distinct--a bit more diffuse than without it.

How does it look?
The protector is easy enough to apply, if you make a mistake you can remove and retry easily.
With a tablet screen bubbles are hard to avoid however they are easy to wipe out using the provided application card.
One the I have noticed is that the VividShield is about 1mm smaller than it needs to be in both directions, it's not too much of a problem.
The screen is just as glossy as without the protector however there is a matte protector from the same company for that.
Quality
It doesn't seem to affect the quality of the screen, contrast is same.
Cleaning
This thing still collects fingerprints like the original glass surface, however they do fade after a few seconds and are easy to wipe off.
How does it feel?
There is no noticeable effect on touch sensitivity.
The screen at first is slightly 'sticky' in that it is harder to swipe. But after a few cleans its easy to swipe.
Would I recommend it?
Definitely! For £7.00 I see no difference in feel from a more expensive protector and it looks to be strong.
THX for the review. I'm gonna buy some...

I ordered the matte version last friday night from amazon as well. It's funny that innoin sells them direct to customers for £9 excluding delivery and yet they can be had for £7 at amazon.

Share: Screen protectors and cases

Well sharing my review on buff screen protector for the note2 , initially wanted to use ismooth but due to non availability and high cost in India tried this screen protector just for Rs 250 in Delhi and its amazing.
1.Perfect installation had no issue whatsoever.
2.Wished they would have provided a dirt removal sticker
3.Using the S Pen was great after 2 days as at first it was little sticky but after 2 days it became smooth
4.Really accepted what they guarantee on their features
Ultimate Shock Absorption
Ultra Scratch Proof
Stretch Resistance
Non Slip Grip
Air Bubble-releasing Adhesive
Did not had any bubble whatsoever and after 15 days of use not even a single scratch and yes as far as the 4 layers are concerned it feels little thick but it makes me feel that it will definitely protect from shock .
Guys please share your experience out here as per availability in India looking forward for some case reviews too.

follow this method of installation for perfect install http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dt9_fZDT-As just make sure to use a tape for the hinge that is non adhesive as normal tape leaves some glue residue which will than have to be removed using cleaner so better use a good tape

The outside look catched my eyes!

I bought this tempered glass screen protector for my Nexus 5X and I couldn't be happier ! It was super easy to put on with no problem with bubbles like the plastic film screen protectors that I have used in the past. I will never buy the plastic protectors again after experiencing this glass one. Every time that I buy a new electronic item I dread putting on the screen protector. The bubbles that you cannot get rid of and getting it exactly in the right place is unnerving. This glass protector also will give it protection from dropping or blows to the screen. My old iPad has a cracked screen and I wish that I had put a glass protector on it instead of plastic.
It seems that IPELY is a new brand,to be honest, the outside look catched my eyes when I first saw it,BUT now I find the round edges of 2.5D covers the edges of my phone perfectly and boosts the security of my device at the same time.
Much better than others I have had before, definitely worth the money.

Just search the brand on Amazon. In fact, much better than others I have had before and the price is relatively reasonable.
Why do you even need that with Gorilla Glass?
Since I bought my Nexus 4 like 4 years ago or something I didnt have a single scratch on any phone I had...

All tempered glasses I have tried come off easily and break. I suggest you use a wet screen protector which is case friendly . The Armorsuit case friendly is the best in my opinion . Other options are IQShield, Skinomi etc. Spigen is not good at all although it works well with a case. It develops scratches very easily and is too thin .

Agree with @RVR - tempered glass protectors are generally awful. Have not found one that has good fit, good sensitivity and stays on. Films have much better fit and sensitivity. Getting them to stay on is another battle - edges lift off. Personally I use a case that has a part that comes from the front of the phone, keeping the film on. I have an unbranded film.
Just buy a otter box and be done with it... Only case with scree protection I use..
Try the case friendly 2 pack from JOLOLO on Amazon. Sensitivity was about 90 percent when first installed, but it seems to be going down now. But yes, try Armorsuit wet install case friendly.
Update on the Jololo, sensitivity worsened as time went on and I sent it back to Amazon.

Good Case and Screen Combo (Alixpress)

Hi All,
Just in case anyone is looking for a cheap case / glass combo. I got this from Alixpress, and I'm happy with it. Case has a nice texture to it, and the tempered glass seemed to be very good quality.

Hi @MarkRobert
can you post a picture of the edge of the case from the screen side? Is it above the screen or flat one and the screen touches the surface when the phone lies upside down?
How about the space between the case and the camera? Will the protection glass for the camera fit inside?
The edge of the case has a lip, so it protects the screen when placed face down. I have a small piece of film over my camera. I think glass should fit fine also.

Thank you for the suggestion, Im considering to buy it. @MarkRobert the case seems a bit thicker than the original clear case the phone comes with. Is that true?

Just checked and it is a tiny bit wider, but feels much better in the hand. Less slippy. It's a bit firmer I suppose.
Alright, thank you very much! I will probably buy it
Nillkin is the best when it comes to protecting the camera. Some camera protection lenses doesnt have perfect cutouts like mine. When i toggle flashlight, whole protection glass becomes cloudy. Nillkin case got a sliding camera protector.
