does captivate come with thinkfree office? - Captivate Themes and Apps

I saw it listed in some reviews, but I did not see it on my new captivate.

You can download it by searching for quickoffice in the market. There's one specifically for the Captivate.

Yep search for either quick office or just captivate in the market and it should come up.

You should be available to use market without sim card (using wifi)
But if you cannot, you can hack your phone, if you don't mind...
(I'm not responsible for anything you do to your phone)
1: Root your phone
Manually: http://androidforums.com/captivate-all-things-root/120616-captivate-root.html
One-Click: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=739304
Super-One-Click: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=803682
(Super-One-Click might not work on some devices)
2: Enable Non-Market
Super-One-Click: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=803682
(click "Non-Market" button)
3: Download Apps Manually
Site: http://www.uvrx.com/mediafire.html
Search the app from the site by typing: "{app name} .apk"
*** If you cannot open one of the programs, download framwork v2 (even if you have higher version: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...cb-4362-4b0d-8edd-aab15c5e04f5&displaylang=en

Did you do a master clear when you flashed to stock?
After i flashed to stock i flashed to stock i did not do a master clear i just rooted it again. But when i try to restore the apps it says i need to check the box to allow third party apps. Well obviously the captivate doesn't have that option

1. there is a video
2. launch the application and it will ALL be clear.....there is a BUTTON that says 'Allow Non Market Apps'
if you would bother to actually try to use the app you would have seen that....there was a reason we were pointing you to that application. 2 seconds of having it open and you would have seen it.
You could also try the thread here:

This has worked for some (me included) where others have failed. You just have to keep trying to find the solution that will work for you. I used to have to find these programs before I finally took the plunge and installed a custom Rom, the devs take care of all of that for you. In case you're interested, Andromeda3 works great!

mirrors are just more servers hosting the same file... a mirror of the other host so you can get the file from more than one location

No Android Market on my S710D

I just changed my phone from WM to Android. The new one is HTC S710D in China. It seems CDMA version of Incredible S. But I cannot find google market on my phone. HTC support told me android market was not officially shipped with new android phone in China. But you know, many apps are easily available from the market. Please advise how I can get google Android Market installed on my phone.
Before I post here, I have searched the forum and CM website. I cannot find a trusted method to do that. I am not clear whether I have to unlock or root or S-ON etc. Please help. Thanks.

Here you can install the market with this apk assuming that the phone is rooted. Then all you would need to do is go to my files and browse to the apk and select it and choose to install.
A plain install wont do ... U gotta copy it to /system/app ...

Actually I had no problems when I installed this myself, and others have used it as well and had no problems. I would suggest that if the plain install doesn't work then to do what knightrocker said.

You need to
1. Root your Phone.
2 Flash recovery (Cwm or any other)

Another option would be to download AdFree from the marketplace. It will allow you to revert to the original host file and then back to the blocking host file.

help rooting Verizon Tab

i picked up a used first generation(7" SCH-I800) VZW Galaxy Tab on Craigslist a couple weeks ago and have had a series of problems while trying to root it or even connect it to my computer.
im looking for Verizon specific instructions if anyone can make that happen.
i have a Windows 7 64bit PC and every time i try to install the drivers it fails. i do NOT have the Kies option in the USB connect menu in settings, only Media Play and Mass Storage. i downloaded Kies from Samsung website and installed it, and again the driver failed to install properly.
i know theres a bunch of people out there with rooted/rom'd Verizon branded Tabs. i'd love to figure out how you guys are doing it.
any help would be greatly appreciated.
nothing? nobody here has a rooted Verizon Tab?
I've got the same tab. Been trying to root it for weeks. Z4 wont work, superoneclick hangs and the tab turns off but only goes into standby and doesnt really get rooted. I would deff make a donation to anyone who can help, I cant wait to get rid of all the verizon bloatware on this thing!

The link I provided and the link to the app thread in that link has all the info you need..... The only way it could get any easier is if you had someone else physically do it for you. I'm unsure if anyone could explain it better than that.

Try downloading a program called Unlock Root (just google it) that should root your phone.
Then download Galaxy S Unlock from the Google Play Store and that should unlock your phone for any sim. (You also need busy box)
Good luck
