Kickstands/Easels/Cradles - Focus Accessories

I've come to grips with my new on-screen keyboard, and don't miss my old Tilt anymore. However, I'm very jealous of the WP7 users whose phones came with kickstands.
First I looked for cases with kickstands, and I think the only offering is from Body Glove, and even then it's just a modified belt clip...and I hate belt clips. I mean, there's only a few cases available for the Focus as it is, much less with an integrated kickstand (classy, kickstand, that is, Body Glove).
So I guess that leaves me looking for a generic stand. Should be easy enough, as I'm sure I could find something as simple as a business card holder to do the job, but I'm looking for completely minimal. Some of the stands I'm finding online are just ghastly huge one-size-fits all solutions. The one I've found so far that piques my interest is the iAngle, but it's made for iPods, so I'm not sure if it will work. (http://www.iangle.net)
What are you all using to prop up your phone horizontally and/or vertically? Any suggestions?

I just received my Body Glove case with stand. Its actually quite convenient. The case is the best I have looked at so far, but with it, I can no longer use the Samsung OEM spare battery charger and cradle. The kickstand makes a versatile cradle.

Here's another interesting ultra-portable stand. Originally found it at thinkgeek.com:

Case, car holder and docking cradle for HD2 with silicon cover on - any ideas?

Hi guys, I've recently become a lucky owner of Leo. The first things I bought atferwards were the normal soft/silicon case, ebay item no. 280510486481 to be precise. It's a very good case, BUT! I can't use any standard car holder, horizontal belt pouch or desktop charger/sync cradle. It simply won't fit in. Has anybody had and solved similar problem? Are there any products into which the "inflated" HD2 fits? Please let me know... I really don't want to end up taking my Leo off the case anytime I want to use it as satnav, and I also want to be able to carry it on my belt while being protected by the layer of silicone... Thanks a lot in advance!
Something like this perhaps.
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/QUALITY-HTC-H...DAsAccessories_PDACharger&hash=item1e5a7cd23d
I have a universal type holder which works okay but find the damn thing rattles too much when phone is not in place. I think I paid about £5 on eBay.
That's great, looks quite strong!
So - what about a charging cradle and the belt case?
There are many cases out there with a loose fit so I would imagine with a silicone case would provide a very tight fit to begin with and gradually loosen up. You could also try something like this designed for the TG01 which has larger dimensions than HD2 so should fit. No guarantees of course.
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Toshiba-TG01-...ewItem&pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item5191284371
For a desktop cradle I remember seeing a few pictures on here where the HD2+silicone case sitting on the deluxe cradle sold all over eBay. No guarantees of course.
I've got a Tetrax car holder (the one with X) which works great! ->
http://www.tetrax.us/
The tetrax holder looks great. Could you give us a little more details?
- Is it really safe?
- Does the phone stand in the position wanted (not rotating unwantedly)
- The mount vent aren't fixed so when the phone is there, does the weight make the phone "look" to the ground or is it possible to get the correct orientation?
- Does the HD2 need the accessories kit or the back cover works with the magnet?
- Any idea of the shipping cost and time?
Thanks for your experience!

It is safe - using it for some time now.
The phone is exactly in the position I want it. However, since the holder is really tight to the dashboard, you can't change the direction in which the phone 'looks'.
However, you could use a flexibel arm and put the holder onto that.
What do you mean with then accessories kit? It works with a magnet, so the 'button' must be glued to the HD2, but can be glued to the cover/case or whatever you use to hold the device in.
This also means you won't have to remove the HD2 from the case when you go in your car!!
Can't really tell anything about shipping cost/time, because I bought it here in The Netherlands. (Bought the thing, next day it was waiting on me at home!)

Nexus 7 good pouch case ? is there a good one?

Like the title states, I soon will get 32GB+3G version of it, thinking to buy the dock when it comes out.
I now have Galaxy Nexus, long story short, I liked the dock that was in the first time Google showed it, after that there was bug in firmware, I could not find it for cheap and have no money, I waited and waited, and finally after some month of waiting, I put my hands on some accessories for it, that was the desktop multimedia dock, genuine MHL & OTG Samsung adapters, an extended battery (in retail pack btw), and the last but not least was the SGP Crumena case in black, my problem was that I needed a case but one I can get the device in and out quickly, neprene pouches are crap and looks cheap, so the leather pouch was a perfect solution with addition with the strap on the back and magnet is just the best.
I sent them a question if it possible to make me a custom case, till they answer, is there any other leather case out there that have a strap and magnet the some of you use and/or can recommend me? as you understand I will use the dock, so again I back for the same solution :silly: damn why they make a dock that cant hold a device with a case? sure the Galaxy Nexus designed for both standard and extended batter/cover, but that it, 3rd party docks are ok, but what good it will do with stress to the USB connector? even 3rd party docks for iPhones & iPods have interchangeable thing to fit with a case, just reminds me of same ****ing story with BB 9700 and a dock, it's like it chasing me from then, I admit it, I love docks, even if the just works as only stand and charger.
Well I think I will go with that one
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Deluxe-Mo...lePhonesCasesPouches&var=&hash=item826aef259a
some good comments about it.
Yep, I have the green one. Love mine.
Still no answer from SGP, but I checked out other MOFi products and very impressed, I'w seen there a 7XL size pouch:
http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=a1z10.3.0.109.x4SCU6&id=9236794437&
but have one concern the depth is 20mm, isn't it will be to lose inside?
For my Galaxy Nexus I will go for 5XL phone size:
http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=a1z10.1.3794121-713565359.24.Ev7wgS&id=15320374460
but it 10mm in depth, so that why I think 7XL size will be on a loose side..

Ankway LG G4 Qi Circle Case review

I posted this on Amazon but I would like to share this with the people at XDA also.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0126P8U4Y?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00
This is a great alternative to the official circle case from LG.
I have tested a few of the other ones available and this is the only one that checks all the marks.
It has Qi wireless charging.
It has NFC.
It auto activates whatever circle apps you have installed when you close it.
It auto turns the screen on and if you have swipe to unlock, it even unlocks your phone.
It actually closes all the way (this is huge as it is the first I have tried that does).
It adds almost no bulk to your device.
I can not say enough about this case. It just works as it should with no surprises.
If you compare this to the official LG Qi Circle Case, this one gives you everything that one does, and is much cheaper.
How much cheaper?
The official one is $59.99 + shipping and tax.
This one is $12.99 with free shipping and usually no tax.
Not counting shipping and tax this is a minimum of $47.00 cheaper.
And you get all the same functionality and looks.
The back of the case feels exactly like the smooth plastic LG backs.
The front and side has a almost cloth feel to them.
The side looks like it will hold up for a very long time and not crack like some of the cheaper ones.
The back fits perfectly where your original back would be.
It also has a lip on the side and some protection on the corners to prevent damage from small drops.
Overall I have no issues at all with this case and will probably buy a second one in a different color soon.
Easily a 5/5 product!
I will try and answer any questions you may have about this product.
Here is a video showing how it works and looks.

I just bought it on Amazon at your recommendation. Thanks I guess if I want to use Qi charging I just need to get LG Electronics WCP-300 Wireless Charging Pad for Qi Enabled Devices, is that about right?
Any Qi charging pad will work.
I have ones made by quite a few manufacturers..
The best ones I have used are made by Spigen and Choetech.
This is the Spigen one I have http://www.amazon.com/Wireless-Charger-Spigen®-Charging-Premium/dp/B00UGIA0WY
This is a review I did of the Choetech one I have http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=63171513&postcount=10
Any Qi charger made by a reputable manufacturer should work fine though.
I hope you enjoy your new case.
I got one of these based on your review, and your review is spot on. This is a fantastic case at double the price! Also 5/5 from me.

I am glad you are enjoying your new case.
I guess I just hate circle cases. It's my first circle case of any kind. I felt it added no protection, especially for the camera. I also didn't like the flap cover, just feels cumbersome and flimsy to me. That said, the wireless charging is great. I stripped out the sticker and installed it onto my original back and love it. The case worked like it was supposed to and if I were to use a circle case I'd probably pick this one based on functionality alone. The cover stays closed, charges great, works like it is supposed to.

About 60% of the speed of a plug in style charger.
I charge my phone on the Spigen Qi charger overnight and just use the other Qi chargers during the day to keep my phone topped off so I never run out of battery.
Saw that ankway is having a flash sale on this case.
It is only active for a few more hours but I figured I would let you all know just in case you can catch it.
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0126P8UA8..._m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=0PMDVZ0VQYK621DMPJ2K
Discounts it down to $9.86
Anybody know where to buy this case in Europe?
...any chance I could rip the stupid door off and use it with a real case?
I bought the same case. I've had mine for about a month. The Qi charging pad seems a little too thick, it causes the case to stick up a little bit below the volume down button . Also, the bottom left (from the front) of the case is cracked from a 3-4 foot drop. I still really like the case and would have no problem at all spending the $12-$14 on another one.

Your thoughts on magnetic holsters

Im looking for a holster, i found some but most have a magnetic closure. Im not sure if its ok for our phones so i just wantes your thoughts or experience with it. I use samsung pay every day and i dont want any sensor to be off because of the magnets.
Maybe im a little paranoid over it because it probably takes an extremely powerful magnet to cause any harm but im not willing to test it out lol
None of the magnetic items for the phones will cause any harm to your phone.
You may notice that the stylus doesn't work where the magnet is, but it will work just fine when you move the magnet.
As a Samsung Experience Consultant, I do not recommend anything magnetic, I think they mess with the device internals.

You do know many manufacturers use magnets in their devices and accessories, including Samsung and Apple, right? Every Apple smart case / cover utilizes magnets and (as much as I love Android) I can honestly think of no more reliable tablet than the iPad.

You think or you know?
You should only be putting out info if you know. If you don't know, and it is clear you don't, then you should not speak on a subject.
Magnets will in no way harm the phone unless you are using super powerful magnets, what you use to hold the phone to a dock and things like that won't bother it in the least bit.
I do not recommend any of the Samsung Flip Cases to customers because I have seen them cause problems with devices before. I do not recommend magnetic closures because I have seen them cause problems with devices.

What sort of issues have you seen?
It seems strange that Samsung would release a product that would interfere with one of its flagship products and sell it as an accessory.

I'm not sure if this is specifically what you're asking about, but I've been using a Scosche MagicMount (http://amzn.com/B00I608BJ8) for my car dash and love it! I lay the larger metal plate (it comes with two sizes) at the bottom of my case, oriented where the longer sides are parallel to the bottom of the phone (let me know if you need a picture). I don't stick the plate to my phone, but rather set it inside my case. It turns out to be the perfect length and height for the Note 5. Wireless charging and Samsung Pay still work great. I used that picture of the Note 5 where someone made the back of transparent to make sure the wireless charging coil inside the phone does not over lap with the metal plate that comes with the mount.
I bought a nice leatherette case for my Note 5 only to find that the S-Pen does not work on the right hand side where the magnet is. I took it off immediately and went back to my Body Glove case.

I purchased a wallet case on eBay. I noticed there were areas on the screen that wouldn't work. When I flipped the removable phone case there were 6 magnets...three on each side to hold the phone in the wallet. These magnets are small, but the impact was terrible! I I'm attaching pictures of me using the s pen to find the areas on the screen and the back of the phone case.

Like I said. "Magnets will in no way harm the phone"
This isn't harming your phone, it does do as you have seen which is a TEMPORARY issue and has already been discussed, it will cause no permanent harm to the phone.
I don't know about magnetic holsters but magnetic car mounts most definitely YES. I've used many holsters over the years, for all kinds of types of phones. I haven't really thought about it till I saw this post. My buddy has a good magnetic car mount for his s7 edge, but I don't really know anyone at the moment that's using a magnetic holster. Just my opinion though, the last time I used a holster was way back in January and it was actually pretty good. It was a best buy branded platinum, with kickstand holdster and case like a 3 in kind of deal but not magnetic. It fit could on my belt clips for my jeans and suit pants. Good luck
bought the Bracketron brand at best buy, the magnetic part is on the mount, it is a metal plate stick to your phone so no interference from the magnet, not owning a note 5 tho.
I put in some small tin paper cutouts INSIDE my note 5. I took the back cover off, peeled the sticker with the color/logo and spraypainted it a nice black then just glued the tin paper inside of that. Then I took a flat wireless charger and added neodymium magnets to it, modded it to be as small/thin as possible then covered it up with some black thin leather I bought from Michaels. I mounted it up to my car's console and now I just plop the phone onto it and it sticks tight and fast charges, no wires or case. Worked perfectly, but in hot weather the leather would become a bit slippery so it would slip off, but I fixed that with a couple of very small circular double sided gel tape on the bottom just to provide a bit of friction. I've ridden like this for the past 5 or 6 months and it doesn't slip or fall off at all, heavy bumps, hot weather, nothing dislodges it.
The only thing that doesn't work is the spen, and that's only directly over the magnets, but I wouldn't write on it anyway while it was mounted. Otherwise I've had zero difficulties with it. I'll post up pics if anyone is interested, but it's a bit frankenstein looking.

Ohsnap! Grip

I backed this on Indiegogo back when I was your age. I recieved mine about a week ago and I love it. It's like a pop socket but way better. It's a good grip and kickstand with a few angles. They are being sold directly from ohsnap.com now. I don't know if they'll be available on Amazon or anywhere else. I currently have mine stuck to a thin tpu case. Still works with wireless charging if the case is thin enough. The grip itself is magnetic. I like sticking my phone to my fridge while I cook. I recommend you check it out.
https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/ohsnap-grip-how-smart-people-use-smartphones#/
That's great news , thanks for sharing .
I really, really wanted to like this.
BUT, no matter where I place it, I cannot use any of samsung's wireless chargers and I really don't want to get their specific charger and find out that the metal ring blocks it too.
Looks cheap! I wouldn't put that on my phone! That's my beef with PopSockets is they make your premium phone look cheap!

It's actually very well designed. Just the metal ring and/or magnets block the wireless charging.
Sent from my SM-N986U1 using Tapatalk
I've actually only used the Snapcharge that you can buy with this, so I'm uncertain if it works with other wireless chargers. The makers say it will do I was inclined to believe it. I don't think it looks cheap at all and I have the plastic version. There is also the Luxe version, which is made out of aluminum. My biggest problem with pop sockets were that they did not just slide into your pocket, but this slides into my pocket with ease.
Negative and positive
So it works on "most" wireless chargers but Samsung and some other chargers have a "protection" of sorts in case they feel interference. This causes wireless charging to pause/stop. Ironically the cheap fast wireless chargers that don't have this work fine.
I have 2 of the OnSnap - the regular and the LUXE.
If you use a lot of Samsung wireless chargers don't waste your money because it wont work no matter which way you place it or where on the body of the phone you place it.
The only exception would be if you have a case and are ok with taking the case off to allow wireless charging through the SAMSUNG Wireless chargers or the like (not bad counting on the case)
If you have a naked phone (no case) it counts on your wireless charger set up. Because once the ring is on there is no taking it off and then putting it back on as the metal ring is meant to stay on. The rest of the OhSnap is meant to well snap off if you need to and it just reattaches without issue to the metal ring.
Most non-Samsung wireless chargers worked but it will be a hit and miss since there's so many out there but I would say there's more on the working side then on non-working side.
But biggest take away is Don't plan for this to work with Samsung chargers.
They don't ship this grip outside of US... Is there any way to buy it if you're from Europe?
If no, is there an alternative grip?
