I have a big problem.... I installed Dolphin Browser to my Galaxy Mini, and it wanted to set a shortcut on my homescreen, but all three homescreens were already filled with widgets and shortcuts... Then Touch Wiz launcher (TWLauncher) crashed and I tried to reboot, but it still kept vibrating and sending a error message (to force shut down TW Launcher) so it doesn't display menu, just 4 icons on the dock (call, message, menu and contacts) Only feature which I can access is task manager... So i need some software or something to reset the phone to factory settings... Please help me, the phone is one week old, and it already doesn't work...

First, Turn Off Your "Mini"...

I tried to update my SGS to android 2.2 through kies wihtout puting my phone in to recovery mode. The firmware seems to be lost and the device cannot boot only give me a black screen with word samsung galaxy s GT I9000 wrote on it.
Iam very new in android devices please help me. I do not know what I should to do..
Mine did the same thing when I flashed with Kies.
Try this: Hold Volume UP, Home button and on/off button together until a screen with a few options appears. Select Wipe/factory reset from the list using the volume up/down button. Select ok and reboot. You will loose all your data but your phone will work again.

BTW You did the upgrade the right way. With Kies you don't need to go into recovery or download mode before flashing. Follow the previous posters instructions and if that doesn't work you'll need to search around here more, for other flashing methods or just to find out if your internal sdcard is dead.
I temp rooted my galaxy tab using z4root and decided to delete home launcher because it interfered with me using open home app replacer. Well, i recently did a factory reset and now i cant do anything on my tablet. The screen is black and i cant access anything. PLEASE HELP!
Can you go into Download mode? Or are you sure you have charged the battery? When you connect your charger does the tab display a battery icon?
Well, I'm not sure if this would work but you can try. First make sure you charged the battery.
1. If you can boot the tab normally but after it boots it goes on black screen, then you can try the web version of the market from any computer and then sign in to market.android.com and then send it to your phone.
2. If it doesn't reboot normally, you can go to the CWM and try wiping data and cache or whatever.
3. You can also flash a new rom on the tab from CWM recovery, whether you already have one on the tab, or you can transfer one under the CWM "mount usb device".
4. If all that didn't work, you can do the restocking step from the installation guide on the overcome experience rom web page.
That's all I can think of.
Hope this works out for you and next time before playing with the system files always bake sure of two things. Make a Nandroid backup and make sure you have a working version of the rom you like...

yes, my tab is fully charged. When i turn it on it just goes to the blank screen. The problem is i deleted the stock home launcher so now i have no way of doing anything. the only the i can do is put it in recovery mode. I see that i can use my apply sdcard:update.zip to somehow fix it, but i dont know where to get an update.zip.
and my usb connector is broken so i wont be able to use odin.
Is there a way that i can download stock firmware to my memory card (i can put my memory card in my phone) and use the apply sdcard:update.zip function?
i had the same problem and I had to use a friend's PC. It will only take a couple of minutes but that's the only way I know of. May be you can find some official update.zip or some expert have a solution. Sorry for you man.
If there is a program to back up the ROM I have into an update.zip, I'm willing to do it and upload it for you. Is that possible?
There is a "Create an update.zip" option in the Titanium backup. If you can confirm that this option will work as I thought, then I can do it for you...
Can you go into the download mode? (press sound button down-power button)....if so then you can flash any ROM.
If one of you could PLEASE upload an update.zip I WOULD BE VERY GRATEFUL! would I be able to put it in recovery mode and use the apply sdcard:update.zip function with this? my usb connection cord does not work.
i did the same thing. My cousin gave me his rooted galaxy tab before he left and i uninstalled ADW launcher hoping to get the default touchwiz launcher. But he had that removed previously. So now i am only seeing a blacked out screen with only the notification bar at the top.
so, now i can only do the following things:
pull down notification bar from where i can turn on/off the wifi, bluetooth, gps, sound, auto-rotate
long press on the home button to reveal the RECENT APPs dialog and from there go to the samsung task manager.
long press on the search button to reveal the voice search. But that does not work because there is no internet connectivity
i am currently downloading a stock galaxy tab Firmware of 2.3.3 from androidadvices.com which can be downloaded to the device via odin. Still not sure if it can help me come out of my mess right now. However, i think you can use that same .zip firmware to install via sd card from the boot recovery menu.
Check that out.
Hello,
I have a Problem with my Samsung Galaxy Gio, and i can't pass or fix it
My phones rebooting randomly, when i'm using it.
I think the problem is with the Dalvik-Cache, cause if i go to recovery ----> advanced ---> Wipe Dalvik-Cache (Click on it) It just showing the recovery's background for about 5-10 seconds with no text, then i can see this:
no
no
no
no
no
no
yes (wipe dalvik-cache
no
no
(The menu for clear it)
But after a second (yes 1 second only) it goes back to the Recovery menu...
(Oh and i cant step in the menu, while its showing up for only 1 second )
I tryed (or tried, not sure) to go back to the stock rom, and wipe everything, but it still having this problem :S
Please Developers or Anybody Help me!
If ur phone reboots randomly then make sure that the cpu frequency is not too high..
Or if u are using a custom kernel then try to flash it again and reinstall the rom..

Need Help!!!
I'm 14 and I need help with my samsung galaxy i9000t.
It's alaways stuck on the Samsung screen and it goes on and off for a while.
it turns on after 10 or 15 minutes(the longest was 1 hour), but when i try and reset it to factory mode, I still see the old gmail accounts and settings including the alarm clock, and I cant really use the android market....
again I already tried resetting the phone using the up key, home key, and power key, but it still takes long to turn on.
Need help as soon as possible please! thank you!

If you prefer a stock rom without or a modified stock rom with root you could flash a 2.3.6 Odin Rom. That will update your complete system and reset it to the default values.

Correct me if I'm wrong but... in download mode, phone just reads what's sent via usb cable and installs it. If it's not working I would say it's the hardware that's broken.
Hello,
Today my phone was functioning normally until I decided to launch a game (Jewels Star or something like that) that I always play normally.
But today when I entered it the phone froze and shut down by itself and now everytime I try to turn it on it gets stuck on the first screen that appears! (Samsung Galaxy S III mini GT-I8190)
My phone is not rooted and no Rom is flashed. I haven't done anything to it.
What can I do to fix the problem?! Please help!!

remove battery for some minutes then try, if not
boot into recovery and wipe cache, if not, wipe data, if not
flash your stock firmware
How to wipe cache in recovery mode? I can only go to download mode by holding the home and the volume down buttons.
and how to flash the stock's firmware?

if it didnt work, flash attached .tar file (unzip before) as pda in odin. (it will wipe your data)

Is there any other way better than wiping data? xD

it would have been easier if you had rooted your phone. in that way you can hard reset the phone by pressing the VOLUME DOWN + POWER for 15sec, after which you press the HOME KEY and then follow the pop up to continue.

The s3 mini cant be put into recovery mode using buttons so you have to download the android sdk from google, right click adb folder, open in command prompt and type in reboot recovery.
I have little bit higher problem!
I was flashing custom rom and i t was flashed when i tried to start phone it was just looking like dead phone no reactions anything please help
Is there a way to wipe the data through Odin. If I try through recovery mode then the phone crashes and restarts immediately. In fact if I try to do any of the operations that touch Data then it crashes and restarts the phone. Thanks
