Overclocking?

[email protected] and pros.
Has anybody thought of it wether we can overclock the Qualcomm MSM7227 CPU of the Legend in the future??? Of course we need a root at first, but is it possible? Any ideas?

i heard got people using x8 ics rom change build prop to ldpi can run at mini &mini pro
but can we take the official ics rom from mini &mini pro change build prop to mdpi and using on x8?

I think if there is some official ICS , then it will be slower than nAa official miniCM9 :d

NO! Mini Pro and Mini are different models than x8 and x10mini/x10 mini pro.
Specification is much more powerful: cpu Qualcomm 8255 Snapdragon S2 1GHz ARMv7(different architecture!!!) 512 Mb Ram , gpu Adreno 205, full 4p multitouch, camera 5Mp, AF, secondary camera... .
X8: Qualcomm 7227 600MHz ARMv6(old piece od junk) 256 Mb Ram, gpu Adreno 200, lack of multitouch, camera 3Mp without AF.. so you cant use new Xperia Mini and Pro firmware, if you try you will brick your phone.

As far as i know x8 has 168MB RAM...

Wrong x8 has 256Mb but only ~170Mb is available, system take some, same as new Mini/Mini Pro(512Mb but only ~320-340Mb is available to use by user).

To clarify the situation : this kernel is a TEST Overclock kernel , and may not be functional in all devices !
It will be updated in time to run on all devices !!! :good:
On TI OMAP4460 need confirmations :
if device boot Y/N ?
what frequency you can see ?
the divece is stable on overclock ?
can you see voltage on System Tuner ?
....
If the device not boot , or you can not see any oc frequency I'll make another build for testing in OMAP4460 !
On TI OMAP4430 works sure 100% !
TEST 6 only for TI OMAP4460 !

I made a litlle update to OC kernel , but only for TI OMAP4460 version stock 1.2GHz and 1.5GHz ;
Change log :
boot frequency = 1.2GHz ;
maximum frequency for stock 1.2GHz = 1.5GHz ;
maximum frequency for stock 1.5GHz = 1.6GHz ;
solved - frequency increase to maximum frequncy without set !

If you have a TI OMAP4430 with stock cpu 1.0GHz , Yes, you can play any games ( sure, if it works ... ) on 1.2GHz without any problem !

will test on TI OMAP4460 [email protected]_V04
AnTutu score is 7815 on ICS kernel
OC kernel - can`t boot - Bootloop on start logo.

Guys, I want to try this OC kernel but I'm comfused about my device.
I have the standard 101 g9 (not turbo) but it shows processor Omap 4460 ES 1.1 1.2 GHz with 512 mb ram. How could this be possible? I thought standard version has omap 4430.
Which version of OC should I try?

Hi !
Yes, your device is standard OMAP4460 with 1.2GHz ! The standard OMAP4430 is 1.0GHz !
..so you can flash the TEST zImage from second post !
...also, push the old initramfs.cpio.lzo from your Rom and the new zImage in SDE -> Flash Kernel & Initramfs !

I think .... no . Because even my galaxy mini 2 are struggling to get it work !! .. 800 Mhz OC to 1008 Mhz , 512 RAM , adreno 200 ..
but there is nothing wrong if you try once ..

Yes you can , i've been play fifa 14 for 3 weeks on my lil'g .
working smoothly with ics rom (cm9) , greenifyiing some unusable apps, and change gpu info with gltools .
Fifa 14 is works on galaxy mini 1 .
Tested by me on version 1.3.2

Yes and no.
Depending on your ROM and CPU clock, it might work. I tried FIFA 13 and 14 on friend's phone and worked, specs :
725 MHz (or somewhere near it)
Class 8 SDcard
Android 2.3 (Chocobread ROM)

I found out that snapdragon 652 can be overclocked up to 2 ghz. So can someone create custom kernel with overclocked sd 652 and also gpu with 621 mhz?

652 has thermal issues and most of the time it only runs on efficiency cores @1200-1400mhz frequency
